Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground-Chapter 1278: Relax
Chapter 1278: Relax
Slash!
Elesha felt her world tilt before she could even register the pain.
It took her a moment, but she eventually realized the cause. She had been beheaded.
She saw her life flash before her eyes. Everything she had been through, how hard she had worked to reach this level... and how easy it had been to lose everything.
She had faced the wrong person, and now, she had lost. Everything.
Elesha couldn’t decide if she felt relief or regret. Relief that she had fought to serve Nex until her last breath... or regret that she had let all her hard earned blood and sweat die with her because of her overzealousness.
If she had hidden and mingled among the people, she might have survived.
’The people...’ As her head and body plummeted from the skies, she couldn’t help but think about the precautions she had taken back at their main city.
That would undoubtedly be the next destination of this monster, and there was simply no doubt about it, people were going to die.
Shnnnk.
Atticus sheathed his katana as Elesha’s lifeless body fell to the chaotic world below.
As he glanced at the scene of devastation beneath, he wondered whether her corpse would even make it to the ground. It would likely be shredded by the roaring forces clashing below.
Atticus spread his sense across the battlefield and beyond, making sure there were no more surprises coming.
He even used his Pride Eyes to scan around, intending to unravel any signs of deceit if there were any.
’Nothing.’ He noted in his head after a second. The only people who could be even the slightest bit of threats were the Warbringers, the people he had just killed in cold blood.
They were strong, even Atticus had to admit. However, their battle had made him realize another avenue of power:
Mana signatures.
Atticus had been too focused on the power of negation that he had ignored mana signatures entirely. He had been... foolish.
His intelligence had always been one of his greatest aspects. With his cognitive capacity, he had the ability to achieve so many things before anyone could even think.
During his battle with Dronvet, and especially the Amazonian Empress, instead of focusing on negating the mana, he should have been focusing on manipulating the mana signatures of the mana around them.
He could take control and shift the mana signatures of thrown attacks at a speed their minds couldn’t handle.
Doing so, and as long as their Will wasn’t involved, Atticus could allow his attacks to phase through any of their defenses by synchronizing the attack’s signature with their defenses. He could also take control of enemy attacks. The possibilities were endless.
The Warbringers had attacked him with different abilities, elemental or pure mana, but they had used mana as their source regardless.
Atticus had simply copied each of their attack’s mana signatures, taking control of them before dispersing them harmlessly into the air, his katana flashing. The battle had ended that fast and quickly.
And fast and quickly were two things Atticus loved when it came to fights. He was using a katana, after all.
Atticus cleared his thoughts and turned towards the raging storm below. The others were at work, decimating the army at impossible speed.
Aric and Zenon were splitting the millions of battalion soldiers, turning them into nothing but blood and gore.
Magnus dealt with the aircraft in the air. He was a streak of lightning that left nothing but devastation in his wake.
And lastly, Ozeroth seemed content with only destroying the mountains surrounding them. And after just a second since the battle began, he had done just that.
He had somehow brought out a pool chair and was resting with his eyes closed in the midst of the devastation.
Atticus sighed. He blipped and appeared inside the mana dome keeping the chaos from reaching him.
"What are you doing?"
Ozeroth peered one eye open. "What does it look like, bond? Relaxing."
"I’m surprised you’re not joining the fight. The others are taking your glory."
Ozeroth scoffed. "As if they can, even if they tried," he said, waving a hand. "Your tricks won’t work this time, bond. Besides, these useless weaklings aren’t worth my time. I’ll let them have them."
"Then why did you go after the mountains?" Atticus asked. They were the only thing Ozeroth had destroyed.
"They dared block the sun rays from reaching me. They deserve to be destroyed."
Atticus frowned as Ozeroth brought out a bathing sheet, trying to capture the sun rays. He closed his eyes, clearly not intending to respond anymore.
Atticus shook his head. To think the man would try to sunbathe in this situation... he decided to stop thinking about it.
They had spent too much time here already. They had to finish quickly and move to their target. There was no more time to waste.
His hand reached for his katana, and the air on the battlefield seemed to still.
The figures of Aric, Magnus, and Zenon felt the change and abruptly stopped. Their heads snapped towards Atticus, standing in the middle of a wrecked earth.
He vanished, and before any of them could comprehend the move, they felt him. He moved at such speed that he appeared everywhere and nowhere all at once.
In the next second, Aric and Zenon’s gazes narrowed as they looked at the surviving members of the opposing army being split into numerous pieces, blood and gore raining down from the skies.
Series of loud bangs reverberated across the skies, and Magnus watched with a raised eyebrow as each of his target aircraft turned into rubble and debris that plummeted from the sky.
Their eyes turned upward to where Atticus had just appeared. They each had frowns on their faces, ones that Atticus could instantly recognize. It screamed: We had it.
"Eldoralth is currently being attacked. We don’t have time to waste," Atticus said quickly, and the expressions of the others changed as they realized. They blipped and appeared by Atticus, demeanour serious.
