Attribute Farming System-Chapter 57: Escaping The Cobra Empress’s Castle

"Humph!" The woman harrumphed. "Of course I'm strong! If not for these damn animals being so abnormally powerful, I could've bested any number of them!"

"Is that so?" Knox asked with a devilish grin. "Well, strong young miss, what is your name? This weak one here could use your protection and guidance."

He emitted his pitiful Early Foundation Establishment Realm aura into the general area. The Duke's daughter couldn't help but snicker a little when she sensed it.

"Ha… You've given this Lady a good laugh," she said oh-so-arrogantly. "And for that, I'll do you the honor of telling you my name."

"Smelovia," she declared. "Smelovia Demi. Best remember it, weakling. It might help you out in the future."

Knox smiled warmly. "It's very kind of you to think of me, Miss Smelovia," he said as he took glances at the scene beyond the barrel. "But could you also do this lowly one a favor and tell me who those two are?"

He already knew the identities of the two he was referring to, but Smelovia didn't need to know that. She simply needed to be distracted.

"Hoho~," Smelovia haughtily said, a hand hovering over her mouth. "Of course trash like you wouldn't know the identities of influential figures in Pandora. But since I'm feeling especially magnanimous today, I'll tell you that the snake woman is the Cobra Empress. The one standing opposite her is Emperor Yin Tiger. Both possess strength nearing the Middle Soul Formation Realm."

"Is that so?" Knox asked like an amazed kid. "Is there anything else you can tell me about them, pretty Miss Smel… Err… Pretty young miss…?"

He definitely hadn't forgotten her name. Definitely not.

Anyhoo…

'Well, since I'll be using him as bait to get out of here, I suppose there's no harm in telling him more,' Smelovia thought as she kindly smiled.

"Pandora is split into dozens of regions, each tens of millions of miles in width. Figures like these two—Beast Emperors—each rule one or more regions. However, since Cobra Empress and Emperor Yin Tiger are rather low in the Beast Emperor rankings, they only rule over one region each. And just now, they were having what they thought to be a private meeting about the distribution of valuable resources like Spirit Stones. These distributions and the distribution routes related to them are what I originally came here for. And even after being cornered by several Beast Kings and ultimately captured, my objectives never changed."

"Wow, so cool," Knox praised, keeping his voice low like hers. "Is that all, young miss?"

Smelovia curled her lips in disdain. "Were you expecting more? Well, too bad. You're just a scummy man with only one thing on your mind. And now you're going to do something for me in exchange for wasting so much of my breath on you!"

"Am I now?"

While smiling like the kindest soul to ever grace the face of the planet, Knox 'softly' shoved Duke Demi's daughter. She tumbled through the booze barrels before rolling into the middle of where Cobra Empress and Emperor Yin Tiger were talking.

She frightfully looked up. Yet, even while disoriented, that didn't prevent the fear that came as a result of seeing two pairs of horrifying eyes staring straight into the very dredges of her soul.

"Noooo!!!"

"Sorry not sorry, Smelly," Knox said as he vanished without a trace. "Guess I'll just have to smell you later, hahaha!"

[You really are a heartless bastard, Dear Host… To think you'd throw a pretty, young maiden into the tiger's den like that…]

"Have I made you proud?"

"Good," Knox said as he left the bounds of the castle. "I wouldn't want your sh*tty appreciation anyway."

The Attribute Farming System then went on and on about a bunch of narcissistic nonsense. Knox zoned it all out as he made his way out of the Cobra Empress's region—a vast plot of land and ocean known only as Serpent's Basin.

It was dubbed as such because the entire region was, quite literally, one very, very large basin. Untold numbers of ecosystems and biomes made up the basin, but that didn't change the fact that it was what it was. And though there was only really one supreme ruler in the Serpent's Basin, that didn't mean there weren't plenty of fiefdom lords.

Speaking of the devil—

"You dare escape the Cobra Empress's castle!? Truly courting death!!"

'Damn,' Knox thought as he stopped running, deeming it pointless. 'It appears that I wasn't as slick as I thought I was when escaping. The big, bad, booty bitch sent her goons after me. Haiz… Oh well, I guess I'll just have to humbly accept her Highness's gift.'

As it turned out, he had been unconscious for the better part of a week. When he said he got smashed off the stuff that was in Stratos Heaven, he really got smashed!

But on a plus note, most of what he drank was infused with Innate Energy—and high amounts of it at that. His cultivation had increased to the middle parts of the Early Foundation Establishment Realm because of it, putting him one step closer to the Middle Foundation Establishment Realm.

Though, that was all beside the point.

What he was trying to get at was that, because of his absence, the other Trial Takers had stepped up their game. A couple were very close to surpassing him in the rankings; in fact, the only reason they hadn't was because of an inefficiency when it came to killing.

Sure, several of them were stronger than him, but that didn't mean jacksh*t when they were clueless when it came to locating the living beings worth the most Trial Points. That was the only reason he had been able to maintain first place up till now.

"And seeing as how I would prefer to have CallMeDaddy topping the leaderboards, it's time to begin killing again," Knox said as he patiently sat and watched as hundreds of powerful presences flooded the skies while moving in his direction. "Let's see. There are two among them who stand out the most. One is a Bear Beast King, and quite a lot stronger than both the Hippo and Tiger Kings were. As for the other…"
