— Similarly, within Pandora, inside the Hive of the Hornets, where four Beast Kings lived —

"Hmm?" Feeling something similar to what set off the second son of the Blade King, the 13th Water Princess stopped mutilating a building-sized Hornet King as she looked toward the Serpent's Basin. "How very unusual…"

"A mere human slave actually dares to invade our hive and kill some of our own!? Courting death!!!"

SHING! SHING!

Brief illusions of a blazing aqua phoenix emerged above Maya Waters as she cut out thousands of times with her treasured sword. Both the Hornet King she was fighting and the newcomer were dissected into countless pieces, dyeing the hive's interior a darker shade of red.

"Don't interrupt me."

Duke Softshore's twin daughters and the eldest daughter of Duke Willow all felt something eerily similar to Maya and Lucidador. Nala—from the Children of the Water Deity—also took note of this phenomenon. Her junior brother, Star-Gazer Child, however, was unable to feel what she was sensing.

The strongest surviving geniuses in Pandora were all—in some way—attracted by the intense battle that had just concluded in Serpent's Basin. However, the Trial Contestants weren't the only ones who noticed this disturbance, as native powerhouses like the Cobra Empress and Emperor Tiger Yin also raised their eyebrows in surprise.

As for what really caused this pattern of attraction…

The birth of a cultivator with a beyond Heaven-ranked Foundation.

In the world of cultivation, how strong one was among peers of a similar cultivation was determined by many factors. What treasures they wielded, what bloodlines and physiques they possessed, or… to what degree they had built up their Foundation.

It wasn't impossible to improve upon one's Foundation later in life. But for a second, imagine how difficult it would be to remodel the foundations of a skyscraper after it was finished being built. This was what it was like to improve one's Foundation in the higher Realms.

For most, the Body Refinement, Qi Condensation, and especially the Foundation Establishment Realms were where the Foundation was built and solidified. The more patient cultivators would go out of their way to prolong their breakthroughs into the Core Formation Realm just to make sure that their Foundations were as good as they could make them.

Similar to techniques, martial skills, and cultivation talent level, the quality of a cultivator's Foundation was also categorized within the general ranking system:

Mortal, Yellow, Black, Earth, Sky, Heaven, and then…

Saint!

Never before in the history of the Elemental Nations had anyone perfected their Foundation to the Saint Rank. To accomplish such a feat, one would not only have to be ridiculously talented, but they'd also need to be incredibly rich. Moreover, they would have to possess a body that could withstand the stress that high amounts of power would put on them.

To fulfill all these conditions, well…

Frankly speaking, it was virtually impossible for anyone in the Elemental Nations. At the very minimum, one would require a Void Refining Realm powerhouse's help to reduce the stress placed on the body of a member of the younger generation.

Just that condition alone crossed off the Elemental Nations from ever obtaining a Saint-ranked cultivator, for they lacked even a single Void Refining powerhouse.

But if one were to stack on more things that made the notion of a Saint-rank cultivator impossible, then it had to be that one would have to absorb ludicrous amounts of Innate Energy. This required a cultivation talent of at least the Heaven-rank as well as an absurd amount of resources.

And again, for the Elemental Nations, this was an impossibility.

However, in the land of Pandora—and with access to abundant resources—things once impossible became possible.

Of course, none of this would have happened the way it did if not for the Madman's Inner Array Physique. And let's not forget—

[Me!]

Knox took stop after stop at all the bases he missed in Serpent's Basin, his mind momentarily distracted.

'Yeah, you,' he thought. 'If not for you, me acquiring a Saint-rank Foundation wouldn't have ever happened. And the stress caused by obtaining it would've torn my existence in two.'

[Hoho~, at least you realize as much~!]

[But do continue. Keep on praising me, worm!]

Knox narrowed his eyes. "Now you're pushing your luck," he said as he cleaved entire mountains in half with light sword strokes. "If only you could make that talkative nature of yours worth something and talk your way into stopping the reduction of my Attribute Point acquisition rates by so much. Even Half-step Soul Formation Realm cultivators are giving less than 100 thousand Attribute Points now."

[Hmm… You'd like that, wouldn't you?]

"Yes, I would—"

[Well, too bad!]

[One of my prime directives is to build up your character, and to that end, you'll get no free passes from me! In fact, you're lucky that I can't control your world yet. For if I could, I'd send an unlimited number of strong enemies your way!]

Knox clicked his tongue. "If you don't have the ability to increase the value of dropped Attribute Orbs, then just say that," he scoffed. "Stop beating around the bush and putting on airs."

[Putting on airs—me!? How could you be so heartless as to assume such a terrible thing!??]

[I'm the most innocent and kind angel there has ever and will ever be! (˶˃⤙˂˶)]

"Yeah, sure," Knox muttered. "And I'm Christopher f*cking Columbus."

[Are you sure you weren't him in one of your past lives?]

Knox frowned. "What nonsense are you speaking now?" he scoffed. "I think I'd remember if I were Christopher Columbus—Oh, wait… There was that one time when I was the son of a ship captain. But no, that can't be…"

[I guess you'll never know, hihi. After all, you were a cripple through and through—one so lost in your own sea of depression that you remained blissfully unaware of the ongoings around you…]

"Okay, that's enough," Knox commanded. "What are you—my therapist? Well, quit it. I'm perfectly fine; I don't need someone to talk to. Especially not someone like you."

[Someone like me, as in lovable, a sweetheart, the kindest, most understanding entity in all of the Omega-verse!?]

"You lost me at lovable," Knox said as he slashed through an undersea base, killing off a few hundred thousand Beast-kin as well as a couple of Beast Kings. "If I were to use one word to describe you, then it'd have to be… narcissistic, condescending, egotistical, unempathetic, douchebag, a*shole."

[Just say you love me next time, teehee~]
