«As useful as you can be in drawing unwanted attention to the island», I replied immediately, interrupting his further ramblings, «You are not vagrants from the street whose disappearance will go unnoticed. You are escaped convicts who are endangering my family with your actions.»

They had nothing to say and remained silent. I didn't know what to do with them. Did anyone else know about their invasion or was it their initiative? Maybe they were being watched, unnoticed even by them, and politics was involved.
