Chapter 28: Ragdoll
Entering the collesium space, Guilliman smirked bitterly, it seemed like this relative of Victoria was extremely powerful. Taming a beast was an incredible feat, one that even the top families in the shelter struggled to do.
"Hm?" Feeling the two new presences in his space, the beast raised its head and narrow its eyes, then all of a sudden broke into a strange mocking smile.
It rose from the ground spreading its wings, revealing a beautiful pair of feathery appendages. It's feet adorned with metallic claws and it's beak curved like that of an falcon.
It looked like griffin, but at the same time it was quite different as its shape leaned more on the feline side.
This was truly a glorious and majestic beast.
However all of a Sudden, the beast broke into an aburpt dance flapping its wings and moving its legs through the sand leave Guilliman stunned.
This was extremely cringe
He quickly looked back at Hamdel as if asking if this was normal, but he was met with a strange smile and a few words of encouragement.
"Heheh, you never know he just might like you" Hamdel said with a smile that wasn't a smile, in the neck second though Guilliman felt a tug on his shirt as he suddenly became weightless.
Before he could even see what was going on his was in the air.

'What the hell?!!' Guilliman closed his ruse and used his hands to cover his face.
Before he knew it, he was plummeting to the ground at a terrifying speed. However, he was quickly caught before faceplanting into the ground.
He looked up and just behind him tugging on his clothes was the beast, looking directly at him with sharp eyes and a mocking smile.
Guilliman quickly scanned through the area trying to find Hamdel, but try as he did he could not find a whiff of the old man.
He was gone!!
"Shit!!" Guilliman cursed watching his body get flung into the air once again, helpless to do anything about it.
Meanwhile,
"It's a yellow gate? Seriously?" In the main courtyard of Victorias family household. Three young individuals could be seen inside a dojo looking room.
"Yes, it apparently opened several days ago, thankfully it was spotted before it matured" one of those three individuals was Victoria, and she had a look of concern on her face.
Gates
These were tears in space and time that linked random locations in the sanctuaries. However, more often than not, it led to spacial hunting grounds with hoards of beasts.
A single gate, no matter how weak it was, would certainly turn into a disaster if not handled properly. Just imagine hoards of monster flooding into the shelter in a single day.
Even if it was a blue gate, they would eventually be outnumbered with long lasting and damaging effects to the shelter.
But this was A Yellow gate, with the possibility of becoming a Red one.
It was 10 times as dangerous.
Unless they could handle it before it matures and breaks.
"So what now?" Jemie asked a look of concern written all over his face. He wasn't that young to not know what a gate was, he had watched his father head into one before and he never came back.
However, he wasn't old enough to know what exactly to do when one appears,
"From what I hear, the blacksteel family is organizing a gathering to determine who will enter the gate and solve the problem from inside" Victoria explained.
To destroy the gate, they had to kill a boss, this was normally the strongest creature on the other side of the gate. Either due to its strength or a treasure, it had the ability to create such a gate to invade their area.
If they could kill it, or destroy its Becon (treasure) then the gate would slow close.
"I see" Jemie nodded.
Gates weren't just dangerous, they were also bountiful, with not only treasures, but also beasts from which one could easily level up from. Definitely the strong families would be vying to send their talents into it.
"Cough cough" as the two of them spoke casually, the third one coughed drawing their attention to him.
Guilliman wouldn't recognize this person, it was a tall young man green rough hair sprawled down his head and a look of utter confidence and an air of arrogance.
However, this arrogance seemed to melt upon seeing Victoria turned to him and smile. Her head tilted slightly she asked...
"You're not well?"
Of course, she knew he was just trying to get her attention, but this was her way of steering the conversation in another direction.
"No, no, I'm well...thanks for asking" the young man replied his gaze lingering on Victoria for a few seconds.
"Are you sure? I can get you some medic..."
Before she could reply he placed his hand on the ground and bowed slightly causing Victoria to shirk back, as a chill ran down her spine.
"Let me join your cohort Victoria, I've been asking for years" the young man said as he bowed humbly. If anyone in the outside world saw him doing this, they would immediately think he was crazy, or rather this wasn't him at all!!
He was prideful, arrogant, and willful. Bowing his head was not something he would do, no matter how bad the situation was. In fact, this belief around him wasn't backed by rumors, rather they were backed by facts.
How many times had he faced odds that were against him? Challenging family heads, fight monsters that were 10 times his size, none had been able to force him to bow ....
Yet here he was, begging to be part of Victorias cohort.
"I....why must you do this" Victoria shook her head, looking at this childhood friend of hers....
He knew what it meant to be a part of her cohort, more so than those who were even a part of it and was ready to fight with her to the last....
Yet, she could not let this be
