Awakening Domination System: But I'm a Slave?-Chapter 40: Crimson Rebirth [1]
Chapter 40: Crimson Rebirth [1]
Tap! Tap!
Renard’s boots echoed inside the cave as he stepped forward, slowly and deliberately.
Like a predator savoring the moment of his prey.
His eyes then locked with Iris.
She froze, chest rising and falling in quick, shallow breaths.
Tap!
"You really thought you could get away, huh?" Renard grinned, all teeth.
"I was going to be merciful. Thought I’d make it easy for you both."
He paused, letting the words hang like poison in the air.
"But you made it hard."
Tap!
He rolled his shoulders, loosening his arms.
"So now... now you both will pay the price."
Tap!
His eyes locked to Iris, grinning .
"I’ll cage you forever, in my newly built room. Don’t worry, it’s liveable."
Then his gaze drifted back to Alaric.
"You, " he jabbed a finger, "Will spend your days groveling at my feet. Cleaning my boots, scrubbing floors, bowing so low your spine forgets how to stand straight."
Tap!
His fingers went to the clasps of his upper tunic.
With a sharp tug, he stripped it off and tossed it back to one of his guards.
And then he halted and turned his head to Iris, flashing a crooky smile.
"Strip off."
Silence.
Iris’s breath hitched.
Alaric’s grip on the sword tightened.
Renard just tilted his head, not caring for their reaction.
"I was going to wait. So we could have gone back to the estate. Let it all happen in comfort and luxury of a soft bed."
Tap!
He stepped closer.
"But you ran away. You tried to defy me. So now."
He gestured wide, to the stone walls, the darkness, the cold.
"This is your bed." fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Iris trembled behind Alaric. Her fingers clutched his sleeve.
Renard’s eyes flared.
"Strip now. Or I’ll let my guards help you."
Then his grin deepened as he flicked his wrist and gestured towards Alaric, who was still standing in front of Iris, holding sword tightly.
"Hold him."
Two guards lunged forward.
Alaric slashed, kicked, elbowed, fought like a cornered beast.
But his muscles were worn, breath shallow, the adrenaline long gone.
Even if he had, he knew that wouldn’t had made much difference.
Then the weight of two grown men pinned him down, steel pressing cold against his back.
Ctttr!
His sword clattered against the stone floor.
"Let me go, you bastards!" he barked, thrashing again.
Then a fist struck his gut. He gasped, coughed, still straining.
Renard chuckled under his breath.
Tap!
Took a step forward, one at a time. Slow and measured.
Tap!
His boots scraped the cave floor as he stalked toward her.
Iris stumbled back until her spine hit the cave wall.
Her knees gave out and she dropped onto her side, clutching her arms tightly against her chest.
"W-why are you doing this..." she whispered, her voice cracking.
Renard’s gaze glittered with cruel amusement.
"Oh come now," he said gently, like speaking to a scared child.
"You can either take those clothes off nicely..."
He tilted his head, slightly.
"Or I’ll rip them off myself and drag you through the woods, naked, all the way home. In front of every guard. Every man we pass."
Iris shook her head violently, tears spilling down her cheeks.
"P-please... don’t..."
Renard took another slow step.
Then another.
His voice dropped to a purr.
"You’ll look prettier that way anyway."
The guards didn’t move.
Didn’t even blink. Like they weren’t watching something twisted, just another noble’s entertainment.
Another passing moment. A routine cruelty.
Iris trembled, her hands clutching her uniform. Her gaze darted to Alaric, pinned, blood at the corner of his lip, still struggling.
And Renard, just a few feet away now, savoring the moment.
Then he smiled again, tilting his head slightly.
"We had an agreement, didn’t we?" he said, voice low and sweet, like venom in a silver cup. "Instead of that slave I bought before you, you’re going to have me first. Isn’t this exciting?"
TAP!
One more step closer. The sound echoed like a blade sliding free.
Iris whimpered and pressed herself further back, nails digging into her own skin.
Alaric thrashed against the guards, veins bulging, jaw clenched.
"Bastard!"
The older guard behind him twisted his arm tighter, knee jamming into his back.
"Don’t move," one of them growled. "Unless you want a broken spine."
Alaric’s eyes burned.
Shop.
He muttered inwardly and opened his shop interface, fingers twitching.

[Yes!/No!]
Then just as he was about to confirm it.
Then—
ROAR!
A thunderous, bone-shaking roar tore through the cave like a war cry.
Every man froze.
The guards loosened their grip by instinct.
Even Renard’s steps faltered.
Then—
Crash!
Stone cracked. Dust fell from the ceiling.
An a figure emerged out from the shadows.
It stood taller than a warhorse, its obsidian-black body built like a panther but plated with armored ridges.
Gleaming silver tusks jutted from either side of its snout, and its golden eyes were glowing with quite hunger.
Each exhale hissed out cold and wet mist, as if its lungs bore a storm.
Its tail lashed behind like a whip of jagged bone.
Renard’s mouth was agape, pale—drained of color.
"N-no way..." he muttered, stepping back. "That’s... That’s a Dreadmaw Direfang...."
Even his personal guards flinched, hands hovering over their weapons, but not daring to draw.
Thud! Thud!
The beast stepped into full view. Its paw slammed the ground, claws digging into stone.
And it stared. Right at them.
Then it bared its teeth.
Grrr!
And growled.
