Awakening: I Ascend As A Legendary Ranked Necromancer-Chapter 77: Enough!
Zones are always locked in time and space. But Zones like the black castle, in which the original owners had already made provisions, were even different.
The spirit in such Zones where the original owners gave power to oversee it had absolute power within it. They drew power directly from the influx of mana, the time-space that made a zone a thing.
To remove the hold of the spirit and tamper with its power, all you needed to do was split apart time and space and create an outside interference. And the easiest way to do that was to open a portal directly to the outside.
Now, the amount of power needed to open a portal like that from inside an unclaimed zone was astonishing. In an Iron zone, you needed to be at least Gold. Or use a gold artifact.
Although the spirit didn’t know the technicalities of all these, it did know the amount of power needed to achieve it, and when it realized it was exactly what the warrior in front of it had done, the spirit flinched and flew back hurriedly. "Y..ou...what! Where do you come from!"
Kaidos giggled and raised his hand where a dark dagger glinted. The solid blood on the ground gathered and began to float toward him, even the ones from the dead Awakeners joining. "I am on a mission," he said, looking toward me and smirking. "And I came from a very peculiar place...."
The spirit shuddered; it could almost feel its powers draining away from the new rip in space-time. It had to come up with a plan quickly!
The others and I remained within our shield, watching what was happening. We didn’t fully understand anything except for the part where the spirit’s attack hadn’t worked. But one thing was apparent this beast-man who called himself Kaidos didn’t mean us any good.
"What do you want?" the spirit asked. It began to gather its remaining power inwardly, though on the outside it wore a nervous look.
Kaidos laughed; the blood gathered around him, weaving into his robe and forming a big orb above his head, sloshing gently.
"I want to sit on that throne. And then complete my mission...!!!!"
The spirit lurched into an attack, bringing down both palms facing downward in a sharp movement. It used all its power for the spell; instead of trying to crush Kaidos directly, it crushed the air above him and brought the whole thing down.
What the spirit didn’t know was that the blood around Kaidos had a life of its own literally. It had been made with life force, so it reacted. The blood created an umbrella above his head, and the spell attack was shrugged off.
"I’m bored with you and your games!" Kaidos shouted, and the blood reacted again, exploding forward and forming the mouth of a gigantic wolf that swallowed the spirit in a single chomp.
The spirit’s presence vanished immediately, and the blood reformed into a big orb. Kaidos yawned into the silence that followed.
"That was interesting."
The silence was broken by Arin, who pointed his sword at Kaidos.
"Do you think we will just let you do as you wish? You are an illegal freelance, aren’t you?"
"And what if I am? There’s nothing you can do about it. I’m going to claim this zone just to prove that. But I don’t have anything to do with you, Knight of the Government."
Even Kaidos knew not to mess with the Government.
"The Tower Dungeon has rules about the claiming of Zones. And the GUV follows such rules. You should go back to where you come from," Arin warned, his sword glowing by his side.
Kaidos raised both hands. "Okay, okay, but after I’ve finished my mission. The zone can rot for all I care. Torvan the Necromancer! You will follow me back!"
I bristled and opened my mouth, but Litha beat me to it. "Who are you to say such? You’ll have to go through his teammates first."
He turned to her. "Oh... I read about you too. The annoying girl that keeps following him about. And there’s the big one too. You’re all here, but that’s not a problem. I only want the Necromancer."
Temur’s voice was frigid when he spoke. "Do you think you can handle all of us just to reach Torvan?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
. I could tell he was surprised he even had to ask that question.
Tim brought out his stones, surrounding himself in a ring, while Dile flexed his claws and a fireball lit up the room.
Kaidos looked at us, seeing the silent threat, and smirked. "Will I be able to handle all of you? Yes. That’s why I was sent on this mission. I am capable."
It was Litha’s turn to bristle. "Enough with you!"
She removed the shield and began preparing a technique of her own, but Kaidos used the opportunity to attack as well.
The blood flowed and hardened, forming countless spears above him that glinted with a red luster. Some faced the Government and the Walkers, but the one meant for Litha shot forward immediately without hesitation, whining through the air fast.
Litha didn’t have time to form a dome shield, so she put up a massive sheet of mana in front of her. The spears slammed into it with such force that they pushed her backward.
Her eyes widened as the spears continued to drive her back.
"Impossible! A small attack like that has that much power? Who is this guy?!"
She reinforced her shield more than she should have before she was finally able to hold them, but the spears remained pressed against it. Gritting her teeth, she made the shield explode outward.
The force sent the spears flying backward, some of them breaking as they scattered. Kaidos looked at her curiously, then his eyes lit up.
"I remember now! I was told to watch out for the two companions of the Necromancer as well!"
