Awakening of the Weakest Slayer-Chapter 121: Nobles?
Max and Alex recoiled so comically it would have been funny—if Sezel wasn't half-dead and unable to sit up.
Alex let out an embarrassingly high-pitched yelp, and Max's pristine composure shattered as he tried to scramble backwards.
Emili, the woman, didn't move. Instead, she grabbed both their collars, yanking them to a jolting stop with one hand each.
"Oh, for fuck's sake, you idiots, ghosts aren't real!" she yelled at both of them.
Alex, still clutching at his shirt where her fist had all but throttled him, squinted at her. His lashes should have been illegal.
"Weren't you the one screaming 'ghost' half a second ago?" His soft, slightly lyrical tone seemed to attack her.
She dropped Max from from her other hand and slugged Alex in the side of the head with a fist.
Alex flinched, muttering some half-hearted protest about brain cells, but he stopped arguing.
Now with all their banter over, the three turned their attention towards Sezel.
Hah. If Sezel hadn't still been hurting in places he'd forgotten he had, he probably would've fainted from social anxiety instead.
From this angle and this distance, Emili's lewd outfit was a study in violence and temptation. chest barely constrained by a tattered tank, exposed midriff showed the toned muscle.
Tight black shorts slashed near indecency, and exposed far too much skin than it should.
If Heaven existed, it probably looked something like her abs.
Don't stare. Don't stare. Don't—oh, for crying out loud, why would someone wear THAT in the Spirit Realm?
"Are you really alive?" Max asked from behind Emili. His suit, somehow spotless even in a wasteland, made Sezel want to throw something at him.
No... the guy simply just got on his nerves for some unexplored reason.
Sezel blinked blearily, trying not to pass out or drool. "I—think so? Unless this is some kind of afterlife..."
Max's dignified smile reappeared, entirely too pleased for Sezel's liking. "Oh, I'm glad. I'm Max, the idiot there is Alex, and this crazy woman who almost killed both of us is Emili."
He gestured grandly. Alex gave a dainty little wave. Emili just grinned, all teeth.
Sezel stared at them blankly... was this how any sane person introduced themselves? Uh... yeah on Earth it should be okay, but this was Spirit Realm.
His head lolled sideways as a fresh wave of pain swept through him. Blood still seeped, slow and insistent, from the hole in his side.
"So… will you just kill me?" He barely got the words out; for a second he wondered if that was the most honest thing he'd ever said.
"Before that... remember, if any of you try and loot me while I'm awake, I swear I'll haunt your dreams. Not that I have much left to rob."
Emili cocked her head, fixing him with an appraising stare.
Then she smiled, slow and warm. "You're too handsome and too young to leave like this. Come join us. I'll even patch up your wounds myself…"
Her lips practically curled around the "patch up" in an infuriatingly suggestive way. Sezel's ears went bright red, sort of impressive, considering all the blood was probably pooling elsewhere.
Was she serious? Was anyone of these fools even sane?
He licked his cracked lips.
Is it possible to die of embarrassment after surviving this much mayhem?
Still, suspicion gnawed at him. He was thrown aback by the lack of suspicion from the group.
"Aren't you going to ask my nationality? My rank?" He forced a weak chuckle. "Isn't that what everyone in the Spirit Realm wants to know first, before deciding if I'm worth saving or just decent monster bait?"
The three of them actually burst out laughing. Max's smile had a bit too much upper crust for a wasteland. Even Alex's gentle laugh was prettier than any guy should have.
Sezel was exhausted and a little bit pissed— Are they noble people? was this how nobles treated everyone?
Max finally sobered, shaking his head. "We're not from anywhere anymore. Country, rank, reputation… none of it matters to us. And honestly?" He winked, actually winked. "I like you."
Alex and Emili both snorted, like the winking was the only weird thing they'd witnessed all day.
"We're not here to judge," Max added. "If you want to stay and survive—do it with us."
Sezel was frozen... actually his mind couldn't even tell any longer, did such nice people even exist? or was all of this just some after death illusion?
Max waited for his answer, but as Sezel didn't say anything he stood up and turned around.
"Let's take him," he announced. The rest immediately snapped into motion.
Emili crouched, sliding her toned arms under Sezel with almost maternal care. Her lewd apparel and gentle touch made for truly confusing signals.
Well, at least if she snaps my neck by accident, I'll die happy. At least it'll be with my head between a hot girl's arms.
"Easy, pretty boy," she cooed, and he nearly choked on a retort.
Alex, meanwhile, had found something nearby, a bag so battered it belonged in a museum for tragic luggage.
"This yours, corpse-boy?" He dangled it from two fingers, wary of the blade hilt poking through.
"Hey... I am not a corpse."
Alex smiled, picking up on the joke. He carefully secured it to his back, then returned to the rest of the group.
Max raised his hand and moved it in circles, and soon a black mass of energy formed, something resembling a gate... Sezel was utterly shocked.
'Are they hero's from other world or something?'
"Hold tight..." Emili warned him and jumped into the rift.
It was at that moment that the pain, mercifully dulled by shock and adrenaline—decided to double down.
Sezel tried to laugh, which came out as a gurgle. He swayed, letting his head sink against her for a heartbeat.
'I can't stay awake any longer, guess i should try not to bleed too much on the pretty lady…'
Sezel only saw some mixed colors, which looked like stars, then his consciousness took his soul. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
With my luck, I'll wake up in another mess. But at least it won't be alone.
