Barrier System: The Ascension of the Rule Breaker-Chapter 7 - : Rule Breaker
Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Rule Breaker
Inside the divine domain of the Goddess of Ascension, Edrina.
Edrina sat on her white chair, slowly sipping her tea.
She ignored everything happening around her.
The forest, the sky, and the grasslands were withering into complete darkness.
News spread among the gods—Edrina's final champion had perished.
Losing her champion before he even reached Floor 10 meant one thing: Edrina, as the champion's patron, was unworthy of her title as a great authority, the Goddess of Ascension.
Her power was fading.
But she stayed calm.
She placed her teacup on the white table.
A beautiful but calculating smile appeared on her pink lips.
"This is not the end. This is just the beginning."
Edrina began to chant an ancient spell.
What the other gods didn't know was that her champion had survived the assassination attempt, and Edrina knew it.
She didn't know exactly where Granger was, but she was certain he was alive.
The chant she cast severed the bond between her and Granger while allowing her blessing to remain.
With a satisfied smile, Edrina finished the chant.
"I trust you, Granger Reiner. I know you can do this." She stood and gazed at her withering domain. "Tear down the pantheon. Bring chaos and disrupt the order the gods hold so tightly. Rise... for the name of the Goddess of Ascension."
Her entire domain withered, leaving only the spot where she stood.
"Until then... I'll wait for your return to save me, my knight in shining armor."

HP: 40

After sleeping for an entire day, Granger stood up from the cave he had been hiding in.
All his wounds were healed.
Thanks to automatic regeneration, no player could die as long as they had HP.
Any injury would heal when fully regenerated.
But scars remained.

Granger touched the hole in his dirty clothes, revealing two massive scars on his torso.
"It's time to move."
Granger started traveling, keeping two barriers around him to hide his scent.
The barriers didn't use mana to stay active; they only required mana when created.
He moved through narrow spaces, staying alert for enemies.
He hadn't gone far before he heard a slithering sound ahead.
Granger hid behind a pile of stones.
[Cave Racer: Level 9]
A three-meter-long snake slithered past him.
"Monsters on this floor are way too strong. This isn't what I expected from a level 9 monster."
[To kill one Cave Racer, at least four level 9 players are needed.]
"Huh..."
[Monsters on lower floors are designed to be defeated by groups of players with the same level as the monster. Fighting alone is much harder. Even killing a mob monster alone is almost impossible for most players, let alone a floor boss, which requires a raid team to defeat.]
"A party would be nice, if only everyone wasn't trying to kill me."
Granger clenched his fists, crushing weak stones in his hand. His anger still burned inside him.

"Hey? What's wrong with you? Are you malfunctioning? I need you right now."
Suddenly, Granger's barriers started to tremble.
In seconds, the barriers transformed.
The blue barriers turned bright red.
Granger's eyes widened in surprise, then everything around him blurred in red.
His eyes changed from jet black to glowing red.
"What the hell is happening?"
[This is an anti-recognition protocol created by the Goddess of Ascension. It can only be activated if the goddess severs her connection with you while keeping her blessing intact.]
[Your soul print has changed from a Player from another world to a native citizen of Agrasia. This prevents the other gods from tracing you.]
[This also signifies that the goddess has lost her divine authority.]
Rather than panic at the sudden events, Granger remained calm as he processed the information.
"She wants me to win this game while hiding my identity until the end, huh?"

"This is a lot of changes."
"By defying the sacred laws established by the gods, the Goddess of Ascension has officially rebelled against the pantheon. And you, her champion, will carry out her will."
Granger looked at his newly improved Status Board, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
His thoughts didn't dwell solely on the benefits he had received. He also considered what Edrina intended for him to do with this power.
"She designed this system to turn her champion into an anomaly the moment she lost her divine authority." Granger's lips curled into a smile. His red eyes glimmered with malice. The gentle expression he once wore was gone. "This isn't about winning the game anymore. It's about creating chaos to disrupt the order of the gods while staying off their radar. I didn't know she could be so spiteful."
Granger stood and began walking in the direction the Cave Racer had gone.
"I understand what you want from me, and I'll do it. I'll dismantle the pantheon piece by piece, leaving only ruins behind. I'll take back what they stole from us... tenfold."
A maniacal laugh echoed from Granger.
His mind had already fractured when he was betrayed, but the cracks had only just started to show.
When he was cast into that deep hole to die, the old Granger perished.
The new Granger was born, and he was driven by unrelenting rage.
Now, not only did he know who to seek revenge against, but he also possessed the power to carry it out.
"Just wait for me, my goddess. We will have our revenge."
Granger gritted his teeth so hard in his excitement and fury that blood began to trickle from his mouth.
"Against the gods..."
The bright red barriers surrounding Granger slowly faded into the darkness.
A shattered soul had been given a dangerous weapon, and he was determined to use it to destroy those who had wronged him.
