Basketball System: Rebound of the Underdog-Chapter 337: Surrounded By Beauties
Lina pushed Kai’s shoulder in amusement.
"What can a first-year student do?" she teased.
Kai chuckled and smiled. "That’s why I said ’someday,’ right? I also think it’s impossible right now."
"But, hey. I also thought that making it to the Nationals this year would be impossible. Yet, look where we are right now."
A reminiscing smile made its way to Lina’s lips.
"You’re right," she muttered.
Kai was about to break the question when someone popped up just right beside Lina.
It was none other than Fei, who had a wide smile while looking at Kai.
"Go away for a second," she snapped to the young boys who were following her for pictures.
They scrambled away from the pretty lady while Fei’s gaze remained on Kai.
Lina frowned as soon as she saw the manager of the Knights.
"Fei," she said with narrowed eyes. "What are you doing here?"
Fei chuckled. "Oh, you don’t have to look at me like that, Lina. I’m here for something very important."
Lina’s frown deepened while Kai looked at the two of them with curiosity.
"What is it?" Lina asked.
"Don’t tell me you forgot," Fei chuckled. "The bet during the acquaintance party, remember?"
Lina’s forehead relaxed as soon as Fei reminded her of the bet.
"Oh," she muttered.
Lina was so caught up in their victory that she forgot about it.
Then, she smirked, crossing his arms in front of her chest.
"Right," she smiled. "I have the financial reports on my phone."
"Me too," Fei chimed. "So, we can discuss this right now, huh?"
Lina nodded confidently, bringing out the sheets where she inputted their sales. Although Kai’s sales weren’t as much during the first two games, the last two games made up for it! The line for their merch booth countered that of K-pop idols!
Lina showed Fei their total sales of 12,450 yuan. The amount of sales for Kai made up for more than half of it, with a whopping 7,684 yuan coming only from him.
Kai couldn’t believe it, too. "That many people brought our merch?" he muttered.
Lina excitedly nodded. "We can go to a better training facility before the Nationals!"
They faced each other with wide smiles, appearing like they were in their own little world.
Fei clicked her tongue and cleared her throat to snap them back to reality.
"Well, this is ours," Fei said, showing them her sheets.
Lina nearly jumped for joy when she saw that their overall sales were a thousand yuan less than that of the Shizi Dogs.
"Yes!" Lina exclaimed, not being able to control herself. "Then, this means that our team has more sales, right?"

Fei sighed and nodded in defeat. "Yes," she said.
That was the time when Lina jumped for joy. She only dreamed of times like this, and it was happening before her eyes!
"Now—you owe me a favor," Lina smirked, remembering the stakes of their bet.
She hadn’t thought of anything yet, but she already had some ideas.
However, before she could speak on her ideas, Fei shook her head.
"I think you’re forgetting something again," she said.
Lina’s smile dropped slightly. "What do you mean?"
"We were betting against Kai and Max," Fei continued. "Not the entire team."
"The Shizi Dogs may have made more money overall, but Max still garnered more money than Kai."
Lina’s smile completely dropped as she looked at Fei’s finance report.
"Wait," she muttered, wanting to counter her argument. However, Lina knew that Fei was right. Indeed, the bet was focused on Kai and not the entire team.
She repeatedly blinked her eyes to confirm if she was seeing right.
Max had a total of 8,239 yuan worth of sales, which was a whopping 80% of their overall sales.
"Dang," Kai muttered. "Well, he is part of the Elite Five, so it’s pretty expected."
Fei smiled at Kai. "He’s always been our number one player since he was a first-year, so these numbers are normal for him."
"Anyway," she said, facing Lina with a victorious smile. The latter was still frozen in her spot, in disbelief that she had celebrated too early.
"H—how can I ensure the accuracy of this, though?" Lina asked, trying to look for some kind of loophole.
"Oh, come on," Fei chuckled. "I didn’t question your report at all. What do you think of me?"
"However, you can confirm with Coach Guanyu if you’d like," she confidently added.
Lina pursed her lips since she was, in fact, very scared of Coach Guanyu.
With that, she sighed in defeat. "Well, I accept my loss," she said.
"What do you want?"
Fei couldn’t hide her smirk as she reveled in her victory.
"It’s simple," she said, turning to Kai with bright eyes.
At that moment, Lina’s breath got caught in the back of her throat.
"I have a bad feeling about this," she muttered.
"I want him…" Fei started off, pointing at Kai.
Kai raised his eyebrows and pointed at himself.
"…to go on a date with me."
Lina pursed her lips. Her worst nightmare had actually come true.
Kai frowned as soon as Fei made the suggestion.
"I don’t think we should do that," he said, making Fei subtly frown.
"Why not?" she asked, sounding offended.
Kai raised his hands in surrender. "We don’t know each other at all," he said. "There’s no reason for us to go on a date."
"It’s all the more reason why we should go out on a date," Fei said. "So we can get to learn each other even better!"
Lina felt like she was hit with reality. Was it not only Suzy but also Fei who was her competitor? What kind of man was Kai to have such people running after him?
Meanwhile, those at the side, especially Kai’s friends, couldn’t believe their eyes.
"Honestly, we should be used to it now," Shang said. "First, it was Suzy, and now, it’s Fei. Fei’s fans are already scrutinizing Kai from afar."
Bao chuckled as he found the others looking at Kai with envy.
"He managed to capture the attention of three beauties," Kun added.
"Three?" the others turned to him with inquiring eyes. "Who’s the other one?"
"Lina," Kun answered without any hesitation, his gaze directed at their manager.
They were silent for a few moments before collectively chuckling.
"Eyy," Shang said, nudging Kun’s shoulder. "Why cluster Lina with them? Lina’s more of the…cute type."
Kun frowned. "Lina’s pretty. She’s beautiful, even."
They looked at him with wide eyes.
"Bro, what’s with you?" Tony asked. "You usually insult Lina."
Kun shook his head. "That’s because we’re friends. However, from a stranger’s perspective, I think she’s quite pretty."
The other boys turned to Lina and started nodding slowly.
"I guess," Dylan said. "I’m just so used to seeing her every day, so maybe I got desensitized. But, she is quite pretty."
"She is," Kun muttered, his gaze still directed toward her.
"That’s why Kai’s so lucky," he added, his voice barely a whisper.
