"That confidence of yours! I’ll flatten that soon."

Sha Vejun’s voice, thick with fury, rumbled over the city. His molten talons pulsed with heat, ready for another attack.

Seeing this, Ru Feng felt her blood run cold, then boil with a fury of her own.

Her bloodline was reacting to Sha Vejun’s bloodline. She clenched her fist, ready to join Xuan’s side with Long Wei, who also wanted to join the fight, but Bai Hua stopped them.

"Look at those symbols! Don’t you find them familiar?"

She muttered, her voice tight with urgency. They looked at the faintly glowing symbol on Sha Vejun’s chest, the same place where Xuan had struck his palm earlier.

Suddenly, a terrifying memory unsealed for both Long Wei and Ru Feng. They found themselves on a battlefield littered with blood and bodies.

Amidst the carnage stood Xuan and an unknown woman whose identity they could not recall, but Xuan was protecting her against several powerful beings who were trying to overwhelm him.

Just then, the same symbol they saw on Sha Vejun pulsed on the bodies of those entities. They watched in dread as the already darkened sky grew even darker.

Those symbols provoked the heavens.

The entities who were attacking Xuan suddenly halted, frozen in the air as their blood essence began to burn. It was then violently extracted from their bodies and flowed into Xuan’s.

"What have you done, you damn Demon!" they screamed and cursed, but they couldn’t stop the horrifying process of their essence being ripped away, which left them crippled.

Those who were beasts turned into their original form and fell to the ground, their life and death unknown. Those who were human with a beast bloodline felt an even deeper horror, as they almost lost their strength, their cultivation crippled, killing the majority of them.

Long Wei watched this in horror, feeling her own bloodline cower in primal fear as the blood essence was extracted and entered Xuan’s body.

Ru Feng felt the same. Just then, as Xuan ended the fight, a heavy black lightning bolt—which they had never seen or heard of before—struck Xuan.

"Husband!"

The word was ripped from Long Wei, jolting them both from the memory and back to reality.

Bai Hua had the same expression, though her memories were slightly different from Long Wei and Ru Feng’s.

Sha Vejun, oblivious to their shared vision, only saw their fear and thought they were concerned about Xuan. He sneered, thinking his victory was now confirmed.

"Ru Feng, I gave you a choice to become my wife, but now I’ve changed my mind. I’ll just use you to breed my offspring."

He then cast a cold glance at Long Wei and Bai Hua. "The same goes for you two. Your fate will be the same as hers."

While the horror of their memories was still fresh, Bai Hua, Ru Feng, and Long Wei looked at the darkened sky.

Sha Vejun laughed, with dangerous glint, "Die!" and attacked Xuan.

Meanwhile with the same ominous thought in their minds.

The destructive black lightning—which they hadn’t even heard of, or remembered, to be more precise—if that hit Xuan, not only him but the whole of East River City, including themselves, would cease to exist.

However, they didn’t move from their place, knowing that if Xuan had decided to use the technique, it meant he had decided to take a gamble, in the end they choose to stay with him until the end.

The sky darkened, and thunder began to rumble. The heavens were warning them, but the arrow was already launched from the bow, and now no one could stop it before it hit its target.

Sha Vejun’s attack didn’t land on Xuan as he used Floating Cloud Steps, but the ground where he had been standing melted from the heavy, fiery molten fire.

"You won’t be able to run, boy, die!" He attacked again, but suddenly, he felt it. His blood began to boil.

"What’s happening? Is this the aftermath of the bloodline technique?" he mumbled as the heat kept increasing until he truly felt that something was wrong.

His attention went to the two glowing, strange symbols on his chest and back, which were the center of his problem.

His eyes widened in shock as he looked at Xuan. His reaction was the same as the one Ru Feng saw in her unsealed memories.

"What have you done, you bastard!"

Sha Vejun’s scream was cut short as a sharp gasp escaped his lips. Suddenly, his body betrayed him.

His molten fire, which had been a part of him just moments before, began to spread uncontrollably, consuming the air with a searing heat.

He couldn’t keep his eyes on who was a foe or an ally. He could only watch in a silent, internal horror as many of his own family elders stumbled into his fiery talons.

The screams of the dying rang out as their bodies melted and vanished into nothing.

"AAAHAAAAAAA... Stop this... I can’t... I can’t..." Then those two symbols brightened as Xuan muttered, ’Seal of Creation!’

Sha Vejun’s eyes widened in sheer horror as his blood essence broke free from him. It floated and then, like it had found its parents, it embraced Xuan and entered his body.

Sha Vejun cries died the moment his blood essence ripped off from his body, his eyes in utter shock looked at Xuan with profound horror.

Everyone watching this had cold sweat running down on their spine, including Ru Feng, Bai Hua, and Long Wei, whose bloodline begun cowering in fear.

Xuan whose body just filled with blood essence of the Brimstone Hawk bloodline, he felt his body stiffen with something powerful entering in his still weak body.

He couldn’t move his body, his eyes glances at the darkened sky with white lighting with heavy profound aura in it, ready to strike.

Others who were already in shock, now had their heart gripped.

"Run! It’s the heavenly lightning." Zhao Zen Wu shouted but before anyone could move even an inch, the white thunderous lighting rumbled like a roar and struck Xuan.

"Husband!"

"Young Lord!"

They all cried as they saw the lighting struck Xuan who couldn’t avoid it. His body ruthlessly thrown into the house nearby, breaking it with an earth-shattering impact.

After one strike, the sky rumbled loudly, like giving a warning and then it vanished with the bright moon and stars illuminating the land.

However, there was grim silence all around. The remaining elders and guards of the Sha family had defeated look.

Almost all of them were dead, including City lord Sha Vejun and his third son Sha Lou with dozens of the elders who died.

And handful of remained who were gravely injured. Ru families condition was little better as they quickly surrendered the fight, even before the end of Sha Vejun, making easy for others to subdue them.

On the other hand, Zhao Zen Wu, Bai Hua, Long Wei, Ru Feng, and Ru Guan, they all rushed towards the collapsed building where Xuan landed after he was struck by the thunder.

Meanwhile, Xuan found himself inside one of his memories.

At first, he couldn’t tell if it was reality or the illusion of his memories, especially as he saw himself being struck by the black lightning.
