Chapter 331: Chapter 331: Tribulation Conclusion

Ved immediately used everything he had, ignition and soul force. What formed above him was a dragon.

A tiny silver dragon, it had a slim, serpentine body like Linglong’s but without the antlers. It was small, barely 10 metres long.

The dragon turned its eyes towards Ved, then disappeared. It didn’t teleport, just moved so fast he lost sight of it.

Even the laws couldn’t contain its speed, the next thing he knew, his back was on the ground.

It shattered, sending tons of stone through the sky. Ved flew back up; the attack had barely broken through his scales.

The dragon’s power was not unbearable; it was just too fast, so fast he could barely follow its movements.

This thing was moving probably dozens of times faster than light; he couldn’t be sure. What Ved didn’t know was that it wasn’t as fast as it seemed.

At least not in the traditional sense. Naledi had seen through it after all; after becoming rank six, she learnt the same ability.

Using will, she can not only confine the speed of her targets without them even noticing, but she can also slow down their perception and reaction towards her.

That way, it would appear as if she’s moving too fast, depending on how much effect her image has over them.

This dragon was doing something similar, but using the will of the world itself to do it; Ved had no chance to counter that.

Not even with his image, in truth, it hadn’t reached the speed of light; none of the tribulation bolts had.

It was only his perception of them that was changed to make it appear so. She wanted to warn him, but stopped herself.

Not only would that be pointless since his will isn’t strong enough to change anything, but it was also better if he found it out himself.

Besides, being wounded with his image active was good for him. Ved frowned. Using ignition made him stronger.

Unfortunately, the world limited his speed, so the increase in speed was severely limited even with ignition.

Otherwise, he too would be moving faster than light right now. The dragon attacked again.

He was about to create shields using wax, but he was too slow. Its claws pierced through his scales this time.

The wound itself was not an issue, but the lightning burnt his insides. He roared and swung his claws.

The dragon retreated, and he detonated nuclear energy around himself. Blue flames spread across the entire area within the ice walls.

The dragon shrugged off the attack and continued attacking him. His body bounced around through the air like a rubber ball.

Every time it attacked, his image would strengthen him, making him stronger and more durable, but not faster.

He couldn’t get faster, realising he couldn’t track its movements, he stopped trying to use his eyes.

Instead, he closed them and concentrated more on his soul sense, but when he did, he sensed something was wrong.

He felt a powerful will around himself; it was hard to detect, fused with the world itself, but it was there.

It bound him like invisible chains, making it hard to think and to move. He realised the truth then.

The lightning dragon was not fast at all; he was just too slow. He tried to break the chains with his own will to no avail.

Then he tried to use his own will to bind the lightning dragon, but it was like trying to stop a speeding train with a shoelace.

Utterly impossible, yet he did not panic; that would not help him at all. However, he also didn’t plan to be a punching bag.

Or maybe he did, he fought the dragon with his bare hands, but he was losing badly. Yet he felt joy.

Each collision drained a bit of its lightning but that lightning did not go nowhere, he absorbed it.

He was slowly integrating fourth-order extinguishing tribulation lightning; it was a hard and slow process, but it was happening.

He continued fighting, accumulating wound after wound. The fourth-order extinguishing tribulation lightning made it hard for his body to heal.

His image had to use life essence drops to heal him and regenerate his lost blood. Yet he still did not use his traits, such as nuclear energy.

He couldn’t pass up the opportunity to absorb such powerful lightning, especially since he knew he wouldn’t actually die.

His image was too powerful to let that happen. What he seemed to have forgotten was that the image only showed up because there was a chance he could die.

It was still active because without it, he might die. The battle lasted an entire week, but he couldn’t hurt the lightning dragon at all.

It was only because it was expending its own body to hurt him that he was able to win, but at this point, his body was like a beacon of light.

Ignition had run out at some point on the second day, which admittedly was a long time.

For it to last that long was a testament to the strength of his body and soul. He absorbed the last of the dragon.

The clouds above churned and dropped a golden liquid. Ved’s body was still shining like the sun from the enhanced golden light of his dragon image.

His body was so strong it felt heavy for his soul to control, forcing him to land on the ground until the effect wore off.

He didn’t have to wait long before the golden drop landed; a cocoon formed around him, creating a massive black egg over two hundred metres tall.

The drop fell on the egg, and a golden liquid filled the egg, submerging him inside. He felt himself lose consciousness.

(Warning: The evolution process will last 2 decades. Does the host wish to use extra evolution points to reduce the evolution period?)

He suddenly received a notification; he wondered whether he should refuse or agree. He had worked so hard for those points, but 20 years...

He made up his mind (Extra evolution points sacrificed, evolution period reduced to 5 years).

’ What?’ he hadn’t chosen yet, so who...then he froze and heard Manas laughing in his head.

’ Fuck you,’ he cursed and lost consciousness.

Naledi watched the egg form around Ved. He had told her how it worked, but seeing it firsthand was more amazing.

" Five years, his evolution will take five years." She suddenly received a message on her head and figured that was Manas Ved had talked about.

Ved didn’t mention that Manas can talk to others, in fact, from their conversation, she can conclude he didn’t know.

She flew down and took his egg ,then disappeared. The walls of ice melted , forming a massive dam.

Ved’s tribulation had created a massive hole which the water filled. Those waiting outside looked around but saw nothing, then left with frowning faces.
