Beast Nightmare Sexx-Chapter 32: Time Stopped, Power and the Silent Return

I woke up with the morning sun coming through the dormitory window. The room was empty and quiet. Daniel’s bed and Raymond’s bed were already made. They must have left early to eat in the cafeteria before the practical magic class. I stretched on the hard bed, feeling my body still a little sore from yesterday’s fight and everything I did afterward.

"Damn... what a crazy night," I thought as I sat up.

I knew I needed to hurry. I had to go to the cafeteria to eat something quick and then run to magic class. If I took too long, I’d be late again. But before getting up, I sat there for a minute, staring at the ceiling. My mind wouldn’t stop thinking about everything that had happened.

First, the friends. Daniel and Raymond were definitely going to bombard me with questions today. "How did you beat the princes?" "Tell us the truth, Shade!" I could already picture their faces. What was I going to say? I couldn’t talk about the Nightmare Echo skill, or the airship, or any of that. It would sound insane. The only safe thing was to repeat the same excuse: "I just got lucky. They were arrogant and underestimated me." Maybe they’d accept it. Maybe not. But I wasn’t going to open my mouth about my powers. Revealing something like that would be asking to die.

And it wasn’t just them. The princes’ families weren’t going to let this slide. Powerful noble families, full of money and influence. They must be furious right now. They were probably already planning some kind of revenge. Losing a duel in front of the entire academy? That humiliates anyone. I needed to be ready. It wasn’t enough to have the Beast and the power to stop time. I needed something more.

I thought about Olivia. She was already in the palm of my hand. It had been easy to dominate her with the Beast’s Gaze and the Scent. Now she was loyal, obedient, mine. But Marie... ah, Marie was different. In the original game I remembered, Marie was the main villain. The girl who was going to marry Julius in a gigantic political alliance between the two richest families in the kingdom. That was going to happen soon. I couldn’t let it. Marie was going to be mine. I was going to possess her, control her, make her fall madly in love with me using the same skills. She would drop Julius and come to me. With Marie on my side, I would have real money, influence and power. The heroine and the villain of the story, both in my hands.

But I knew this was going to change everything. Interfering that much wasn’t a small thing. So far some events had happened more or less like in the game, with small differences. But if I stole Marie from Julius... the story was going to take a completely different direction. I wouldn’t be able to predict anything anymore. The next Chapters of the game would turn into chaos. New enemies, new alliances, maybe even wars. And I would be right in the middle of it all.

"No problem," I thought as I stood up. "I’ll be ready. I’m already stronger than anyone imagines. I just need to get even stronger."

I dressed slowly in the academy uniform, put on my boots and fastened the common sword at my waist. The dormitory was still quiet. I grabbed my bag and was almost leaving when a bright blue screen suddenly appeared in front of me, floating in the air.

I stood frozen, staring at the screen with my mouth open. My heart skipped a beat.

"What the fuck is this...?"

The system had never done this before. Evolved? What did that mean? I always thought it was just a fixed thing, like an old game. Now it was changing on its own? I stood there for a full minute, not knowing what to do. My hand trembled slightly when I reached out and touched the [Yes] option.

The screen flashed brightly and disappeared. A calm, mechanical voice spoke directly into my head.

"Congratulations, Master. The System has been successfully updated. From now on, you will receive daily missions. The more missions you complete, the more points you will gain. These points can be used to increase your physical, magical and special abilities. Attention: if you fail to complete the daily missions, the penalty will be... death."

A cold shiver ran down my spine.

"Death? You’ve got to be kidding..."

Before I could curse more, another screen appeared.

Target: Have sex with one of the academy’s instructors.

Terms: Do not use Beast’s Scent. Do not use Beast’s Gaze.

Allowed skills: Only Nightmare Echo (mental or real-time on the specific target).

Time to complete: 10 hours.

Reward: Bonus points + progressive unlocking of new skills.

Failure: Maximum penalty – Death.]

I stared at the screen, blood rushing to my head.

"What the hell is this now? Daily mission? Death penalty? Right today? Right now when I thought I was safe?"

I wanted to scream at the system, but I knew no one would hear. I took several deep breaths, trying to calm down. I looked at the dormitory door. I needed to eat something before class. And, apparently, I also needed to find an instructor very quickly.

"Shit... looks like the game just got a lot harder."

I opened the door and stepped into the corridor, the morning sun hitting my face. My stomach growled, but my mind was somewhere else. Daily mission. Death if I fail. And I couldn’t use my two best skills.

"Well... at least I still have Nightmare Echo."

I gave a crooked smile, even though I was pissed.

"I can still do this. I just need to be fast."

And so I started walking toward the cafeteria, knowing the day was going to be way more complicated than I had imagined.
