Beast Taming: Starting From Zero-Chapter 630: Save Me
Chapter 630: Save Me
The boy instinctively covered his head and explained:
"I saw her holding a pet beast, so I thought she wasn’t a strong beast master."
The man with two mustaches yanked him aside and warned, "I told you, even F-rank beast masters aren't people you can mess with!"
The boy lowered his head, making it hard to see his expression.
"I understand."
"Lift your head." The mustached man said as he looked at the approaching subway.
"Get back to work."
Qiao Sang stepped into the train with Gangbao.
"Next stop: Terry Station."
The broadcast announcement played as the subway doors closed.
Qiao Sang found a seat and sat down.
Gangbao stayed beside her, causing the other passengers to instinctively keep their distance.
Beast masters weren’t exactly rare, but most passengers on this subway came from the lower District, ordinary people who commuted daily to work in Left Pang City. They were used to maintaining distance from beast masters.
Suddenly, a thin figure sat down beside her.
Qiao Sang was scrolling through her phone and didn’t pay attention.
She was checking her social media.
The last time she posted was when she shared her acceptance letter to the Imperial Beast University.
Other than some relatives and a few random acquaintances, her old classmates hadn’t left any comments.
She thought they had simply lost touch over time. But now, seeing the flood of replies, she realized it was the weekend, and everyone had just gotten their phones back.
Poor high schoolers… Qiao Sang silently sympathized with those who still had to hand in their phones during school.
[Where did you get that pic? It actually looks real.]
[If I didn’t know you were a slacker, I might’ve believed it.]
[How’s the pet beasts on Chaosu Star? Any you want to contract with?]
[Whoa! You actually posted something! But what the heck is this?]
[Send me the original image! I wanna Photoshop my name onto an acceptance letter too!]
[So that’s what the Imperial Beast University acceptance letter looks like. Cool. But more importantly, how are you playing on your phone?!]
Qiao Sang smiled as she read the comments.
"Gang Guard!"
Suddenly, Gangbao's wing stretched past Qiao Sang’s lap and pressed firmly against the pocket on her other side.
Feeling the movement, Qiao Sang looked down and saw Gangbao pinning a hand that was reaching into her pocket.
No way… Qiao Sang turned her head and saw a somewhat familiar face.
Brown hair, gaunt features, he looked malnourished.
It was the same boy who had stolen the Chan Chan stone not long ago.
Seriously? You again? You only target me or what? Qiao Sang's mouth twitched.
She had even summoned Gangbao instead of Yabao, yet someone still dared to try stealing from her.
And it was the same person, this is just outrageous.
Did she look like an easy target?
"Steel Treasure, don’t let him run." Qiao Sang said as she pulled out her phone to call the police.
She had originally let it slide because he was young and she didn’t want to waste time. But now that he had stolen from her twice, she had no reason to let it go.
She had even taken a different route and still ran into him, this guy was definitely a repeat offender and needed to be properly educated at the police station.
"Yap!"
Before Gangbao could respond, Yabao placed his paw on the boy’s hand and let out a cry, signaling that he had things under control and wouldn’t let him escape.
"Gang Guard."
Gangbao nodded and retracted her wing.
She was sitting on the other side of her beast master, so holding the boy down like that was inconvenient.
Yabao was currently in his smaller form, with tiny paws that looked soft and cute, completely non-threatening.
But the boy was frozen in fear, unable to move.
Qiao Sang assumed he remembered Yabao's full size and knew he couldn’t escape.
"Please don’t call the police!"

A voice suddenly spoke up in front of her.
Qiao Sang looked up and saw a man in his thirties wearing black, sporting two mustaches.
"My kid is still young. Can you let him go just this once? I’ll make sure to discipline him." The man pleaded sincerely.
Then, he smacked the boy’s head hard and scolded, "Hurry up and apologize to the beast master!"
Beast master… Qiao Sang was momentarily stunned.
To be honest, this was the first time someone had called her that.
The boy hesitated before murmuring, "I’m sorry."
At the same time, Qiao Sang felt something and tensed up internally, though her expression remained unchanged.
Passengers nearby began to watch.
Seeing Qiao Sang remain silent, some of them, driven by sympathy, spoke up.
"Let it go, he’s just a kid."
"He’ll probably get punished at home. I doubt he’ll do it again."
"His dad’s right here. There won’t be a next time."
Most of the passengers were ordinary people. They envied beast masters but naturally sympathized with those like them. Seeing that Qiao Sang was also young, they instinctively sided with the boy.
Others simply stayed out of it, unwilling to get involved.
Seeing the crowd support him, the mustached man thought the matter was settled. He reached out to pull the boy back-
"Yap!"
Yabao bared his fangs, revealing a fierce expression.
The mustached man flinched and retracted his hand.
He remembered what this pet beast looked like at full size.
Three meters tall, taking up most of a subway car, absolutely terrifying.
The surrounding passengers fell silent.
They only dared to speak because the beast master had stayed quiet. But if she or her beast made a move, they wouldn’t dare say another word.
"Terry Station has arrived. Please gather your belongings and prepare to exit."
The broadcast announcement played.
Ignoring everyone, Qiao Sang grabbed the boy and stepped off the train while speaking into her phone:
"Someone tried to steal from me on the subway. I’m at Terry Station now…"
The boy stayed silent, not resisting as he was led away.
The mustached man glared at his back but, after hesitating, chose not to follow.
The doors closed.
His son just got taken away, and he’s not following?
The passengers gave the man strange looks.
The mustached man ignored them, pulled out his phone, and dialed a number.
"Is Mr. Fain at Terry Station right now?"
---
At Terry Station.
Qiao Sang let go of the boy’s arm.
"He didn’t follow us."
When the boy had apologized earlier, she had felt his hand writing two words in her pocket:
[Save me.]
The boy turned to make sure the man wasn’t there, then sincerely said, "Thank you!"
Then, as if realizing something, he asked, "Did you really call the police?"
Qiao Sang nodded.
"I did."
She had initially wanted the police to lecture him, but if he was telling the truth, it’d be better to have them hear his side of the story.
"That’s good." The boy let out a small sigh of relief.
He actually seemed relieved…?
Qiao Sang asked, "Can you tell me what’s really going on?"
The boy hesitated before saying, "I will. But can you stay until the police arrive?"
Obviously, I’m the one who called them.
Qiao Sang nodded.
"Yap!"
Just then, Yabao growled.
Qiao Sang’s eyes flickered. She smiled.
"We should change locations first."
What? The boy was confused.
"Little Treasure." Qiao Sang called.
"Xun~"
Little Treasure materialized, his eyes glowing blue.
The boy flinched. Before he could react, everything went black.
The ground beneath him rippled into soft, sand-colored waves.
From behind a pillar, a middle-aged man in a black bowler hat stepped out, frowning.
"Spatial shift…"
