Beastmen: She Tames the Land-Chapter 194: Circulate it
Some might consider what Visha was doing cruel, but in the world they live in, they need to defend themselves. They are now in a safe place, but what if they leave? What if something were to happen?
No one plans for things to go wrong. But choosing to become stronger is always a choice people need to make on their own. Even as children, they should understand the world they live in.
"If the cub is old enough to speak clearly, then they are old enough to make this choice," Visha stated.
Children often see things more clearly than adults. Even if they never voice it, they still have eyes and ears to see what is around them. And the things they see are what they emulate. So Visha wants to give them the chance.
The mother, still tangled, struggled. Visha wrapped the light whip around her mouth to stop her from speaking. She scanned the cubs until she found one that was staring up at the woman.
Directing her speech to the cub, she said, "Your Ma will be safe, even if you say no. I only want you to decide. Don’t follow what she wants. Tell me...what do you want?"
Then she turned to the other cubs. "The same is true for all of you. You can decide what you want. No harm will come to you or your parents because of what you say. Just like the adults can say yes or no, you can too." She attempted to make her voice soften, not as authoritarian as when she spoke to the adults.
The first child to move was Kit. His little ears were twitching as he walked over to his parents. Next was Nimo and Lila. One by one, the children made their choice. Until there was one left.
It was the same cub she had spoken to before. Visha watched her eyes darting from her mother to the group of people who said yes. Visha placed her mother back in her original position.
She removed the whip from the woman’s body, and she kept her mouth covered.
"Your choice, little one," Visha purred, cajoling the cub.
The cub looked between Visha and her mother. Then she ran over to the set of people who decided they wanted to learn. Her large innocent eyes stared at her mother before hiding behind an adult’s leg.
"The choice has been made." She withdrew her power from the woman’s mouth. "Those who wish to learn, stay. The rest, go about your duties."
Those who were not interested went to do their tasks. The only person who did not leave was the woman. She stood, glaring in the direction of the cub.
"Leave or be punished according to pack rules." Visha kept her voice level.
She did not understand why this female was so adamant that her cub not practice. The female hesitated, eyes angry, before she turned and stomped away.
"Everyone, find a comfortable place to sit," she instructed.
The number of people who were willing to try was more than half the pack, cubs included. Though not out of her expectation, she was still happy to see it.
"First, close your eyes. What we are going to be doing should be as simple as breathing. The air around us is the same; you’ve been breathing it in since birth. Now, all I’m teaching you to do is identify it and circulate it."
"Keep your eyes closed, block out every distraction. Every person or thing next to you. Forget your worries, forget whether it’s hot or cold. The only thing you should focus on is breathing."
"There is no correct posture. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable. Breathe, in...out. As you breathe, forgetting everything else, you should see it and feel it. The energy swirling around you, like the very air you breathe."
"Focus on the way it moves. Invite it into your body. Allow it to move through you. Your body will know the right circuit to take. As you take in the energy, allowing it to flow, let it circulate your body once before you try to control it."
"Once you can control it, send it into your mind. There you should see a small bead. Allow the energy to flow into that bead. Do not force it. Allow the energy to flow gently until you can control it."
She continued speaking, not sure if they could still hear her. There were quite a few children who had taken in vital energy. Visha could feel the energy moving towards them.
The adults had a much harder time than the cubs. Cubs are pliable. You only need to explain the concept to them, and they will explore on their own. Adults have too much on their minds to truly let go.
While they were trying, she was cultivating on her own. She was looking forward to getting stronger. She had a feeling she needed to get stronger as quickly as possible.
She wanted to start training with Uri and Xeno. When they came back, she would mention it to them.
More than an hour later, some were able to grasp the content; others were not. Their voices were ashamed. They wondered if there was something wrong with them. Visha knew this was bloodline and work.
Xeno’s family had no problem guiding vital energy. That was to be expected because of Uri’s bloodline. And while she thought the others, the first ten, could also start to feel vital energy, she realized she was wrong.
She had thought all the tigers from the Tiger tribe would be from the same tiger relation. Now it seemed she was wrong. No matter, she could still help them.
"To those who have been able tograsp the opportunity, remember to practice. When your tribe leaders return, they will begin your training. Don’t think they are being too harsh on you," Visha laughed.
"Those of you who have yet to circulate. Remember, I did say bloodline also makes a difference. If one hour doesn’t work, then try two. You can try it at home, away from everything. Do not blame yourself."
With that, Visha left the podium. She would leave them to their own devices for the rest of the day.
