Beauty in the beast world-Chapter 341: Coronation
The morning sun greeted the Beast city bringing with it a new start. The Lion tribe, in particular, was stepping into a new era of prosperity and hope. It was as though the shadow of the late King’s death was slowly fading away revealing the pristine light.
Lyra made an effort to get up early even though she wasn’t much of a morning person. And this habit had only grown worse from the moment she stepped into the Beastworld. Her lovely mates were ever so reluctant to wake her up, and as a lazy bum, she didn’t mind it one bit. For the longest time, she struggled with one thought in her mind. It was that she wasn’t an ambitious person, even while she lived on earth. All she ever wanted to do was eat and sleep if that was what she was allowed to. Offcourse, this wasn’t possible back on Earth, but here? She could achieve that life. Live lazily ever after.
However, before doing that, she had to do the most important thing. Adrian....she has to release him from the gem. She wanted to do that even if that is the last thing she had to do in her life. That man had sacrificed himself to keep her safe and happy. He let go of his happiness, status as an archangel, and even his soul so that Lyra could keep hers. He did everything and more than a father would for his daughter. But now, as his daughter, it was her duty to at least do a minuscule percent of what he had done for her.
"The ceremony will start soon, Ly," Lucas said as she finished getting ready. Yes, before she could start her journey in releasing Adrian from his eternal chains, she had many other duties to complete in accordance with her status as the Queen of a tribe. She couldn’t help but feel weird when that realisation settled in. How her life had changed, from planning a vacation with their friends to now becoming the Queen of multiple tribes in a completely different world.
A nervous sigh left her lips as she straightened her already neat altar dress. It was early morning and she had to perform a homage to the Sun god with Noah. It was a part of the coronation ceremony. Lyra learned something new every day in this world. The people of Beastworld were polytheists but also differed according to their tribes. Each had their own Gods that they worshiped, which were passed down through their ancestors. Lucas, belonging to the Silver wolf tribe, worshiped the Moon and believed it to be a Goddess. Meanwhile, Noah’s lion tribe on the other hand, honored the Sun god.
As Lyra walked near the altar, she could clearly see the carved sculptures of the Sun seated in the middle of the ritual circle. It was a figure emitting what looked like sun rays. Goosebumps rose on her arms as she heard the chanting of the Head witch masters. There was something so powerful and pulling in those words. As she looked towards the ritual in a daze, a hand covered hers making her look at her side. Noah squeezed her hand reassuringly and smiled at her while he led them both near the altar.
The pair stood wearing identical altar robes while Lyra let her hair run free down her waist. She was informed that it was symbolic of raging, unbridled, and untamable rays of sun that represented power and authority.
Demir watched as his mate and Noah started the ritual by offering a freshly caught prey as a sacrifice to the fire. The orange flames greedily engulfed the things inside it while it grew, providing warmth for the ones sitting around, combating the morning cold wind. His eyes soon focused on his mate alone erasing everything else around her. She looked completely immersed in the ritual. It was understandable; this was the only proper coronation she had attended till now, despite being the Queen of multiple tribes.
The others were already Kings before meeting her which made her the Queen by default without needing any elaborate ceremony. However, this would not be the case with him, Noah, and Lucas. They are the princes of their respective tribes first and mated with her as such. So, everyone in their tribes needed to know who the ruling monarch was and had to get used to that idea so as not to cause any confusion and, importantly, rebellion against the crown. The duel that occurred last night was also one of the means of curbing future challenges until the new King asserts his rule.
After the initial ritual, Lyra and Noah were ushered near the clawed throne of the Lion Pride. The Dowager Queen, Noah’s mother, was waiting for them with a pleasant smile on her face. Her eyes still held the sadness of losing her mate but also the happiness of having an opportunity to see her son get crowned. She had always thought that her son would assume the throne one day with a voluntary duel between him and his father when the time came. But it seemed like the cruel time didn’t seem to agree with their plans. Her mate left the world in the worst way possible making her son go through everything all alone. What should have been one of the best days he could experience was shrouded by his father’s death.
She knew her little Noah well. He would remember how his father met his end every time he sat on his throne. That thought cursed her soul on the inside but the Dowger Queen smiled outside to not show any of her worries to her son. She didn’t want to burden him any further. That unconsciously made her glance at Lyra, the female chosen by her son. The best mate anyone could ask for was already standing by his side. The girl had a good heart and would always take care of her son and their tribe, she was sure of it. Her presence eased the Queen’s heart a lot. A relieved breath left her chest. This was her time to step back and worry about her other mates. She had been neglectful of them after Noah’s father’s passing, but her sweet mates were ever supportive of her. Now that she had no responsibility as a Queen, she could finally spend more time with her mates.
Both Noah and Lyra kneeled before the throne while the Head witch master stepped forward to place the crown on the new king’s head.
"I place the power and burden of the pride on you, King Noah" the witch master proclaimed, "May your rule last until the Sun remains in the sky"
"He who is chosen by the Sun, Rule us well!" With that final verdict, roars and chants broke throughout the tribe.
"Rule us well!"
"Rule us well!"
As the roars slowed down, the Witch master shifted his attention to Lyra. He placed a smaller clawed crown reserved for the Queens and said, "Mate of the King, Light of the pride, May your grace guide our days"
"Guide our days, my lady!"
"May you guide us!" Another series of chants buzzed everywhere. Meanwhile, for the first time, Lyra felt the true importance of her station as a Queen.
