BECOMING MID(NIGHT)-Chapter 52: Phase 40 - Just The Two Of Us
The dynamic in the room shifted again, the air thickening with a different kind of electricity. Kyouya’s eyes didn’t just hold malice; they held the smug satisfaction of a master who had seen through every layer of a disciple’s deception. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"You think you’re the only one who can dig through digital trash?" she whispered, her voice a low, vibrating hum against my jaw.
"You didn’t just hack the police database, Mayo. I found your little sanctuary. Your CCTV room? Bahaha, it was surprisingly easy to crack. I’ve seen your screens, your maps, the way you watched me through the lens of your own pathetic obsession."
"I watched you watching everyone, including me."
The realization hit me like a bucket of ice water.
My private space, my only refuge, had been a glass house this entire time. I let my body go limp against the sofa cushions, my muscles abandoning the fight.
I let out a long, shaky breath, letting my head fall back.
"Okay, fine. You won," I muttered, my voice barely a thread.
Kyouya’s grip didn’t vanish, but the predatory tension in her fingers relaxed slightly, a flicker of triumph softening the sharp edges of her gaze.
"Happy? I will tell you everything," I continued, looking her dead in the eye.
"Huh, really?"
For a split second, she believed me. Her hand softened, her weight shifting just enough as she prepared to listen to my confession.
It was the only opening I needed.
In one fluid, desperate motion, I twisted my torso, using the leverage of the sofa’s armrest to throw her off balance.
Her eyes widened, a flash of genuine shock breaking through her composure.
"Wait, wha—"
Before she could recover, I lunged forward, pinning her wrists to the very cushions where I had been trapped seconds ago.
I used my weight to lock her down, my breath coming in ragged, triumphant gasps.
"My turn, you femboy,"
I growled, the adrenaline turning my fear into a sharp, aggressive hunger.
She stared up at me, her chest heaving, the "Velvet" persona completely shattered.
The masculine resonance in her voice was still there, but the dominance had been replaced by a stunned, almost breathless anticipation.
"I will tell you... but after we enjoy this hot, dirty mess like you’re asking for before,"
I said, my voice dropping to a rasp. I could see the pupils of her eyes dilate, her pulse fluttering visibly at the base of her throat.
"Being so eager, aren’t we?"
she managed to choke out, a faint, defiant smirk playing on her lips.
"Also, it’s not like—" she started, but I didn’t let her finish.
I pressed my finger firmly against her lips, silencing the protest.
"Sssshhh..."
"Shut it, you idiot fuck,"
I whispered, the insult carries with it a strange, distorted affection.
"Idiot, idiot, idiot!
"What an idiot you are. You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this, Kyouya..."
Her gaze didn’t waver.
If anything, it deepened, a dark understanding passing between us.
The hunter and the hunted had finally stopped pretending they weren’t exactly the same.
"Maybe I do," she replied softly.
"No shit, you don’t, Sherlock. Stop pretending," I countered, leaning closer until the heat of her skin was all I could feel.
"I see. Alright then." She let out a soft, huffed laugh, her body finally relaxing into the sofa beneath me. She looked around the empty apartment, a jagged, beautiful smile crossing her face.
"Well... no one is watching here. It’s just the two of us."
"So... do whatever you want, you h-protagonist."
I grinned, feeling a surge of heat that had nothing to do with the air tension.
I leaned down, the space between us vanishing completely.
"Hehehe... sure, my femboy."
I didn’t give her a chance to respond. I closed the distance, our lips meeting in a first ever kiss that was less of a romantic gesture and more of a collision—a desperate, messy synthesis of all the secrets and stalking that had led us to this floor.
I kept her pinned, my chest rising and falling in time with hers. The initial rush of the reversal was fading, replaced by a heavy, expectant heat.
"Wait... Kyouya," I breathed, my voice barely audible over the hum of the city outside.
"What?" she snapped, though the edge in her voice had lost its lethality, replaced by a jagged curiosity.
"The V-Card."
She let out a short, dry laugh that vibrated through my hands where they held her wrists.
"What is this? Suddenly looking for a lover? I thought you just wanted a sex partner to scratch that itch."
"Shut up..." I muttered, feeling the heat creep up my neck.
"I mean... maybe this is the right time for that."
Her eyes searched mine, looking for the lie.
"Are you sure? If we do this... if we initiate the protocol, there’s no going back, Midnight."
"Just call me Mayo, dear..."
I countered, my grip softening just enough to let my thumbs graze the skin of her wrists.
"And yeah, sure. I won’t mind."
"What about ’my dear’? Or ’my dear love’?" she mocked, her voice dripping with irony.
I responded by playfully punching the sofa cushion right next to her head, the thud muffled by the heavy fabric.
"So funny," I deadpanned.
"I’m practically dying of laughter. But fine. Whatever. Just do it."
"Heh. Look at that response. How cold..."
She tilted her head, a strand of hair falling across her face.
"Coming from the guy who can barely function in the real world, that’s funny."
"Said the one who can’t even express herself—or himself—without a mask," I shot back.
"Do you actually want to pick a fight right now? Because I guarantee I can hold my own."
"Please," she scoffed. "I can socialize ten times better than you even on my worst day."
"Huh, really? Is that so, Kyouya, my love?"
She rolled her eyes so hard I thought they’d get stuck.
"You know what? I may struggle with some things, but even a femboy like you should understand the bro code. You’re breaking every rule in the book right now."
I chuckled, leaning in closer until I could feel the static electricity between us.
"Speaking like a true tomboy now, aren’t you? Okay, sigma boy. Whatever you say."
"God, now we’re just throwing jargon at each other like a couple of cringe gamers," she groaned, though her smile was growing more genuine.
"It’s pathetic. Anyway, aren’t you going to get on with it? Where’s your card, femboy?"
I hesitated, the reality of the logistics hitting me.
"...It’s in my bag."
"And what? You’re too lazy to move?"
I didn’t move an inch. "Yes. And I’m not exactly planning on picking it up later, either."
"Never mind," she sighed, her breath hitching as I shifted my weight.
"Let’s just do it then. I guess we’re past the point of formalities."
"Wait, what about the link?" I asked, a brief flicker of my internal logic alarm going off.
"Are you really that forgetful?" she whispered, her hands finally coming up to rest on my waist. "We have a three-hour window after the initial activation. The buffer is more than enough."
"No," I corrected, my voice dropping an octave as I looked down at her.
"We could do it for two or three hours first... then activate the link, Kyouya."
A slow, predatory smirk returned to her face. "Heh... guess we wouldn’t have it any other way, huh? You always were one for maximum efficiency."
"I want to know what it feels like," I admitted, the honesty of it surprising even me.
"After everything... I want to know."
"Fine," she whispered, her fingers digging into my hips.
"Just make sure we get to the room as soon as we’re done here. Do you understa—"
I didn’t let her finish. I leaned down and muffled the rest of her sentence with a kiss that tasted like desperation and long-overdue secrets. I shifted my hand, my fingers pressing firmly against her perky chest, drawing a sharp, muffled ngggh from her throat.
"You talk too much, detective,"
I growled against her lips, my pulse thrumming in my fingertips.
"Just do it," I gasped, my own hands winding into her hair, pulling her closer until there was no air left between us. "Let me make you scream my name until you can’t even walk, love."
"Sure, if that’s so..." She whispered into the hollow of my throat, the darkness of the room finally closing in around us.
"I’m going to dry you up until you can’t even breathe, my dear love."
