Becoming Secret Nanny for Possessive CEO-Chapter 112: Strange Stepsister
After a brief conversation with her stepmother, Edith immediately rushed out of the room, her breathing becoming increasingly labored. Just as she was about to press the elevator button, someone suddenly tapped her shoulder from behind, startling her and causing her to turn around. She hadn’t expected her stepsister to approach her.
"Are you busy now?" Yvette asked in a gentle tone.
"After this, I’ll pick up my twins. Why?"
"Can I talk to you for a moment in my room?"
Edith was forced to postpone her plan to pick up her twins. She briefly texted Callum to pick them up if she couldn’t make it on time.
Now Edith was curious about Yvette’s sudden desire to talk to her. They hadn’t spoken much and were even becoming enemies. Did Yvette actually want to discuss something important, regarding the accident five years ago? After all, when she first woke up from her coma, Yvette had also come to her.
"Why do you suddenly want to talk to me? Aren’t you usually busy?"
Yvette smiled faintly, handing her stepsister a cup of tea. "I’m free today, and you happened to be visiting my mother, so I thought I’d talk to you."
"Actually, I can’t stay here long because my twins need me." Edith crossed her legs gracefully. "You don’t need to make small talk with me."
"Then, now you answer my question. Does Callum’s family truly approve of your marriage?"
"Of course, as long as he and I love each other."
Yvette nodded, averting her eyes. "I knew from the start that you two loved each other. Especially since you were so united during the press conference."
"So, now your family has no right to stop me from marrying her anymore. If you’re stopping me because of the accident five years ago, I won’t listen."
"Edith, I think you misunderstood."
"Why didn’t you tell me the truth five years ago? Why did you have to hide me in a remote hospital?"
"This is for your own good. If we let you stay in a big hospital, do you want your life to be in danger again?"
Did Yvette actually know something about the accident that she was so determined to protect? What makes her wonder is why she didn’t tell the truth sooner? Was she being threatened by Cliff and his family?
"I still feel like something’s wrong because you’ve been hiding it from me all this time. Why didn’t you just tell me back then that Callum and Erdin were still alive?"
"If I told you, would you still have wanted to look for Callum back then?" Yvette rolled her eyes. "You had amnesia back then, and I didn’t want you to get even more stressed."
"In fact, I’ve been even more stressed because you’ve been hiding from me all this time. If I had known from the start that Callum was still alive, I wouldn’t have felt so hopeless for the past five years."
"But, haven’t you noticed anything else strange? Why hasn’t Callum sought you out in five years? Why is he engaged to another woman?"
"In fact, Callum has been looking for me all this time, and he couldn’t find me because you guys hid me. He never forgot me because he loves you so much, even though I hated him for his amnesia."
"It seems like you really do trust him."
"Yes, because he trusts me too."
"Okay, since you seem so excited about life because you’re going to marry him, I won’t stop you any longer. I want you to be careful about one thing, though."
"What?"
"You shouldn’t trust Cliff’s family too much because they might be the masterminds behind the accident you experienced five years ago."
Hearing Yvette’s words echo Cliff’s, Edith became even more convinced that Cliff’s family had planned to kill her and Callum five years ago. Moreover, Callum’s superiority in everything prompted the family to eliminate him as quickly as possible. Now, her task was to protect Callum from the demonic family and find evidence to bring them down.
"Thank you for telling me this important thing, Yvette."
"Of course, I’m happy to help you because you’re my stepsister. First, I want to apologize for hating you so much and for constantly forbidding you from marrying Callum."
"It’s okay. I’m starting to forget those hurtful words."
"By the way, do you really not remember anything until now?"
"I’ve started to remember all the past moments. But I still can’t remember the moments before the accident."
Hearing his stepsister’s words made her smile faintly. "But, are you still trying to remember it now?"
"Of course, because I have to catch the main culprit who gave me amnesia for five years."
"If I were you, I would forget everything."
"Why?"
"Why should you remember bad memories? You’ll just get frustrated."
Edith glanced at the watch on her left wrist for a moment. "Speaking of which, I have to pick up my twins now."
"Okay, I won’t get in your way anymore."
Yvette still maintained her smile even though she harbored malicious words in her heart."You mustn’t remember anything, Edith. I want those bad memories to disappear from your life. You mustn’t know anything about the accident."
"If you ever want to talk to me again, you can contact me," Edith said kindly.

After chatting with Yvette, Edith hurried to her and Callum’s favorite ice cream shop. She quickly ran to her little family and sat down next to her fiancé.
Callum stared at his fiancée’s sweaty face with a worried look. "Edith, why did you rush to us?" He immediately wiped his fiancée’s sweaty face with a handkerchief.
Edith smiled shyly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Because I missed you so much, Callum."
"Suddenly like this? We’ve only been apart for a few hours."
Her head immediately rested on her fiancé’s shoulder. "I want to lean on you now."
"Did something happen to you? Were you abused by your stepfamily?"
Edith shook her head slowly. "No. Don’t worry, nothing happened to me."
Callum immediately fed his fiancée some chocolate ice cream. "You look tired. I want to play with you and our twins here, too."
