"Have you met my son?" Kevin asked firmly.

"I met him this afternoon."

"Then, what is the answer?"

"It seems like he is interested in investing in me although he wants to study the proposal again."

Kevin smiled slyly, patting Zack’s shoulder a little forcefully. "If you want to raise a lot of money for your company, you’d better keep targeting him until he wants to invest in you."

"But, why does Callum have to be my investor?"

"Because there’s something I need to do for him. I can’t be your investor because I’m honestly not interested in companies developing technology. But my son has always been interested in that kind of industry."

"Don’t worry. Your son won’t change his mind."

"If he suddenly changes his mind, you can go after him by all means."

Edith and Callum were back again, chatting casually on the balcony. The night sky was becoming increasingly beautiful as more and more stars shone in the sky, making Edith’s gaze twinkle.

However, for now, she didn’t want to focus on the night sky. She was more focused on another issue that had been bothering Callum since dinner. She was certain this issue was more serious than family problems.

"Callum, what problem are you facing right now?"

"Actually, before I had dinner with you, I ran into an acquaintance of mine. We hadn’t seen each other in three years, and he immediately invited me to his office to talk. He wanted to meet me because he wanted me to be his main investor."

"But what company does your acquaintance run?"

"AI technology-based startup company."

"Isn’t that great?"

A heavy sigh escaped his lips. "But, when I went around the company, it was all fake."

Edith furrowed her eyebrows. "Fake?"

"The employees, the office equipment, everything was fake. I overheard conversations between employees, saying they were recruited whenever a potential investor visited. Furthermore, there weren’t any reports kept there."

"The company you visited earlier was..."

"It’s actually just a shell company."

Her hands clenched tightly, unable to believe her intelligent fiancée had nearly been tricked by a cunning businessman. "How dare he deceive you! I’ll definitely have him jailed for a major crime! Especially since you’ve just become a board member of King’s Group."

Callum laughed softly, staring at his fiancée with beaming eyes. "I wouldn’t have been so easily fooled. Luckily, I knew the truth, so I immediately changed my mind about not wanting to be an investor."

"This is my Callum who is smart in my eyes."

"So, do you think someone is deliberately trying to trap you?"

Callum nodded. "This is just a temporary assumption because my family has been hating me so much lately, especially Cliff."

"But, is Cliff the culprit?"

"I don’t think so."

"Why? Isn’t it obvious that he hates you ever since the news of our engagement was revealed on social media?"

"He couldn’t possibly set me up like this. I know his reckless personality; he wouldn’t have resorted to such a convoluted scheme just to regain his position."

"Then, who is the real perpetrator?"

"What is certain is that I am asking Patrick for help in investigating this."

The night air was getting colder. Callum took the initiative to carry his fiancée back into the bedroom and lay her curvy body on the bed. He also lay down and embraced her warmly.

"Callum, I’m actually angry to see so many people trying to frame you because they’re so jealous of you."

"But I won’t let them take me down that easily. So, I have another way in case they still find a way to trap me."

"What method do you want to use?"

His lips landed on his fiancée’s forehead. "I’ll tell you when I’ve successfully trapped them."

Edith smiled shyly, kissing him briefly on the cheek. "Then, I’ll wait patiently."

"Actually, I’m excited like this because of you."

"Me? I haven’t done anything all this time. I’ve been busy with my work too."

"Because you always support me. There’s no need to show it directly, you’re always there for me."

"By the way, if you were to meet that person again, what would you do?"

Callum rested his chin on his hand. "I’ll probably just say no."

"Then, if you ask me why?"

A mischievous smile spread across his handsome face. "Didn’t you say you wanted to wait patiently? Why are you the one who’s impatient now?"

"Because I can’t wait to see you take revenge on everyone who wants to harm you."

The next day, Callum went to work full of enthusiasm, thanks to his fiancée’s support. He was even more eager for the holidays, wanting to spend more time with his young family.

Callum arrived at the King’s Group building later than usual today because he had visited the boutique first. After a satisfying chat with his fiancée, he had nothing to worry about. In fact, he was ready to face the cunning man who wanted to trap him.

"Callum, I think you should take a look at this." Patrick handed the tab to his boss.

Callum smiled slyly as he saw all the photos of his father and Zack together last night. "I knew my father had sent Zack to set me up."

"But why did your father do this? Wasn’t he willing to give you this position?"

"I know he gave me this position to cover up Cliff’s mistakes and boost his reputation. If I had caused any trouble, I would have been fired."

At the same time, Zack entered the room confidently, and Callum greeted him with confidence.
