Becoming Secret Nanny for Possessive CEO-Chapter 128: Relationship Between Arabella and James
James and Arabella exchanged surprised glances. Meanwhile, Edith and Callum wondered if they had actually known each other for a long time. This was the first time they had seen James look at someone differently than usual. They grew increasingly suspicious that there was a special connection between James and Arabella, but they had always kept it a secret.
"How did you get here?" James asked in a surprised tone.
"I actually wanted to ask you a question. How do you know Callum?" Arabella replied, also surprised.
"Because I’ve been friends with Callum for a long time."
Callum couldn’t contain his curiosity any longer. He looked at his two friends with a smirk. "Do you actually know each other?"
A confident smile spread across his handsome face. "Arabella is my ex-girlfriend."
"What?!" Edith and Callum screamed in unison.
"Sorry, I didn’t tell you guys before."
"Actually, there’s no need to tell them about our relationship. Besides, we broke up a long time ago," Arabella concluded, looking away nervously.
The atmosphere in the living room was growing increasingly awkward. Callum was supposed to be taking his family for a stroll through the mall, but now he was having to greet two uninvited guests who were looking awkward with each other. He wanted to kick them both out at once, as they were ruining the atmosphere.
"Why don’t you two sit down first?" Edith suggested, holding her fiancé’s hand tightly.
Now James and Arabella sat awkwardly next to each other. Edith was certain that their relationship must have been strained in the past because of Cliff. Therefore, now was the time to gather everyone who held a grudge against Cliff.
"By the way, did I come at a wrong time?" James asked nervously.
"No. In fact, you came just in time because we happened to be discussing our revenge mission to destroy my family and Edith’s."
James pointed at Arabella shakily. "Are you sure you want to let Arabella join our team? Can you trust her?"
"She has repented and wants to join us. You don’t need to be afraid of her."
"If you are not comfortable with my presence now, you can tell Callum directly," Arabella replied coldly.
"Actually, I feel fine. I don’t mind if you want to meet them."
"Come on, it’s best if you two don’t fight. Instead of arguing, how about we continue our conversation?" Edith chuckled, wrapping her arms around her fiancé’s arm tightly to diffuse the awkward atmosphere.
"So, have you found what I asked for earlier, James?" Callum asked with a serious look.
James nodded. "I found someone who was aware of the accident. Unfortunately, they can’t provide us with an investigation report because all the evidence has been destroyed."
"Did he tell the perpetrator?"
"He only said the perpetrator was from the King’s Group. He said he often saw the perpetrator whenever there was news about the King’s Group."
Callum nodded, clenching his fists tightly. "The perpetrator is indeed from my family. He’s been targeting me all along. Because of me, Edith was affected too."
"No, Callum. This isn’t your fault. It’s our family who hasn’t wanted us to be happy."
"Cliff actually told me before, Callum. He told me to marry you so he could steal your twins," Arabella said, looking at the twins still playing games.
"Then, what else did he say to you?"
"Actually, I was already starting to suspect something he said earlier. He said that if he succeeded in his mission to capture your twins, he would marry me. But now, he’s betraying me."
"Why do you still hope to marry him, Arabella?" James suddenly asked sharply, making Arabella a little scared.
"James, actually I–"
"I think we should talk after this."
Callum deliberately chuckled again to divert the awkward conversation. "Arabella, so you really don’t want to steal my twins anymore, do you?"
"If I really did it, I’d rather disappear from this world. Instead, I want your twins to be good friends with my child."
Edith let out a weak breath. "Speaking of which, does Cliff know you suddenly betrayed him? I’m worried you’ll be his target now."
"He also betrayed me first. That’s why I decided to betray him and side with you."
"You better be careful from now on. Wherever you go, don’t go alone," Callum suggested.
James stared at his ex-lover coldly. "Maybe I can protect her from now on."
Arabella widened her eyes as she stared at James, who looked so charming. Her jaw felt tight, as she hadn’t seen him act this kindly towards her in a long time.
"Thank goodness you still care about your ex."
"I actually protected her because I didn’t want anyone else to get hurt." James stared at Arabella coldly. "Especially someone I’ve been involved with."
"Why don’t you two talk first? My family and I actually want to take a vacation today." Callum put his arm around his fiancée’s shoulder haughtily.
"Okay, I’ll take Arabella out for a walk with me too."

James took Arabella for a walk in a city park. James was still very awkward about meeting his ex-girlfriend in person, especially since she had been acting up lately. What upset him most was the rumor that she had slept with other men multiple times. Every time he imagined her sleeping with Cliff, he felt like vomiting.
"How have you been?" James asked, looking around the garden.
"I’m not okay."
"Is it because Cliff dumped you?" James paused for a moment. "I told you before. Never mess with that guy."
"Now it’s useless for you to warn me. I’m pregnant!"
Hearing this devastating news shattered James’ heart. However, he remained strong, as he hadn’t been in touch with Arabella for a long time.
"I knew you’d be pregnant because you’re always sleeping with that man. I hope your baby will be born healthy."
"Thank you for your prayers, James." Arabella took another nervous step.
Due to her nervousness, she accidentally tripped on a rock, nearly falling. Fortunately, James caught her.
