Upon hearing the orders, the man in a black robe looked at one of the people in a yellow robe before asking them to activate the spell book.

Thinking of this, Alex dashed toward the yellow-robed figure. But before he could reach his target, two large vines attacked him from the side and forced him to dodge to the side.

He looked and saw the little kid standing not far away with a green star pattern floating behind him.

"You should focus on me instead." The kid smiled before controlling the vines to attack Alex again after he dodged the first time.

The speed of these vines was several times faster than any other vines that Alex had come across; they could even keep up with Alex’s moving speed!

Alex guessed that it was because the person who had cast it was an Archmage, which was why they were faster than vines created by weaker mages.

After dodging for the third time, Alex summoned his purple stars and cast another lightning bolt within a second.

’If that won’t work, then take this!’ Alex sneered in his thoughts. He moved again, dodging the vines and leaving afterimages before summoning the stars of the purple element again.

"Lightning bolt!"

The casting speed was just as fast as always, and a lightning bolt was soon ready to strike down, only that the kid wasn’t the target of this lightning bolt this time around; it was the yellow-robed person who was pouring mana into the spell book in his hands!

Clint and William had regretful expressions as they watched the members of the Dark Union escape, leaving behind the remaining dark beasts.

"Next time, you won’t be able to escape." Alex mumbled softly to himself.
