Chapter 354: Only She Knows the Answer

Qin Haochen’s expression was serious, his brows slightly furrowed. Suddenly, he recalled something. "Zhaosi and I visited your temple before."

Qin Fujia knew this; they had gone to the temple when he hadn’t yet gone up the mountain. However, he didn’t understand why his father brought it up now.

Qin Haochen seemed lost in thought, emotions flickering across his face. After a moment, he didn’t continue with that line of thought but looked at Qin Fujia and said, "It’s getting late; you should rest."

Qin Fujia wanted to ask something but swallowed his curiosity. "Dad, you should rest early too."

He got up and left the study. Turning back, he noticed his father still seated, showing no sign of leaving. Qin Fujia closed the study door again and went upstairs to his room.

Qin Haochen stayed in the study for nearly an hour before heading back to rest. Little one was still sleeping soundly in her blankets, her soft cheeks slightly flushed from the warmth, making her look incredibly cute. Qin Haochen quietly lay beside her, gently caressing her face with love.

Little one wore a special silver bracelet, capable of understanding goose sounds, and today she suddenly heard everyone’s inner thoughts. All these unusual occurrences left Qin Haochen with an unsettling feeling. He worried that these oddities might negatively impact little one. The only person who might understand why little one had these peculiar abilities seemed to be his wife, Ye Zhaosi, who could provide an answer.

Leaning down, Qin Haochen kissed little one’s forehead and murmured softly, "I wish for your mom to wake up soon too."

In her dream, Qin Sui’an seemed to hear her father’s words, her little mouth moving as she murmured: "Mommy... Daddy misses you, Ann misses you too..." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

At seven in the morning, perhaps due to the promise made with her third brother before sleeping, Qin Sui’an woke up very early today. When she woke, her father had just entered the bathroom. Hearing the faint sounds coming from the bathroom, little one rolled around in bed, waking up her little body while also indulging in a bit of bed laziness. After rolling around enough to catch her breath, she finally got up, plopping down from the bed.

She slipped her tiny feet into her cute little rabbit slippers, her round toes wiggling before she pitter-pattered toward the bathroom.

"Daddy~ Ann is awake!"

Qin Haochen, still with water on his face, hurried out upon hearing little one’s voice. Seeing her wobble toward him, a smile spread across his face.

"Good morning, Ann."

"Good morning, Daddy~" Qin Sui’an cheerfully rushed over, hugging her father’s leg. Her soft, sweet voice melted his heart. Qin Haochen quickly dried his face with a towel, bent down to pick up little one, kissing her chubby cheeks before taking her to wash up. The father-daughter duo went through their morning routine and then headed downstairs together.

In the dining room, only Qin Qianyi, who needed to go to school, was present. Upon hearing footsteps, he thought it might be their grandparents getting up. But when he saw his dad carrying his sister in, he stood up in shock.

"Ann?!"

His tone was filled with surprise and disbelief, unable to mask his excitement. Wow, Ann woke up this early!

Qin Qianyi rarely saw Ann up in the morning before going to school. He was overjoyed and quickly moved to sit at the other side of Ann’s special children’s chair. Qin Haochen carefully placed little one in her chair and glanced at Qin Qianyi.

"Hurry up, or you’ll be late."

"Dad, I won’t! I still have time to have breakfast with Ann!" Qin Qianyi was grateful he hadn’t woken up late today, or he wouldn’t have had time to eat with Ann. It seemed like the stars had aligned for him today! With a broad smile, he suddenly noticed something odd. Huh? Why isn’t Ann talking? He bent down, tilting his head to get closer.

"Ann?"

Qin Sui’an pouted, blinking her big, round eyes. She raised a tiny index finger, shaking her head at her brother. Qin Qianyi was confused. "What’s wrong? Did Ann hurt her hand? Can’t she talk?"

Hearing this, Qin Haochen shot him a warning glance.

"Ann is fine."

"Dad, that’s not what I meant." Qin Qianyi rested his chin in thought.

"Why isn’t Ann talking to me?"

He thought he hadn’t upset her the night before. Wait, the night before? He suddenly realized.

"Oh~ Ann wants to play with Third Brother first."

He quickly and seriously explained to Ann, "Ann, you just need to find Third Brother first to play, not to talk. You can still talk to me!" It would be a shame if he finally saw Ann in the morning and she wouldn’t talk to him; he’d be upset all day.

Qin Sui’an blinked, thinking her brother had a point! Talking and playing were different! With that in mind, she relaxed her tight lips, her face breaking into a bright smile as she sweetly said, "Good morning, big brother~"

"Oh, finally! You’re talking to me!" Qin Qianyi couldn’t help but laugh, poking her tiny nose. "Ann is really trustworthy!"

Qin Sui’an nodded eagerly. "Yeah! Ann made a promise with Third Brother!" Qin Haochen handed little one a milk bottle. "Ann, drink some milk first."

"Thank you, Daddy~" Qin Sui’an beamed, happily drinking from the bottle. Qin Qianyi’s good mood was infectious, and breakfast was filled with joy. Knowing his brother had to go to school, after finishing her breakfast, Qin Sui’an accompanied him to the castle entrance, watching him ride away on his bike. She waved her small hand high. "Goodbye, big brother~"

"Goodbye, Ann! I’ll come back to play with you right after school!" Qin Qianyi called back, pedaling hard, eager to get to school and back as quickly as possible.
