Beloved One of the Prestigious Household-Chapter 374: How Did Ann Know in Advance?
[Qin Lvzheng: This guy looks skinny but is surprisingly heavy.]
[Ye Rongyuan: He’s so slow; Ann’s already there!]
The two exchanged playful complaints as they pedaled along on the bicycle.
Upon arriving at the castle entrance, before the bike even stopped, Ye Rongyuan jumped off.
If it weren’t for Ann being there, he might have expressed just how uncomfortable the backseat was.
Suppressing the discomfort, Ye Rongyuan strode up to Ann, "Ann, sorry to keep you waiting!"
"Not long at all~" Qin Sui’an shook her little head, her large, clear eyes full of concern as she asked in her sweet voice, "Is little uncle in pain?"
Having never sat on a bike’s backseat herself, she assumed if even an adult like her uncle felt pain, it must be quite bad.
Thinking this, Qin Sui’an secretly reached out her small hand, furrowing her brows as if she could feel his discomfort.
Ye Rongyuan was taken aback by her question for a moment.
How did Ann know he was in pain?
He didn’t dwell on it too much, reflecting instead that perhaps his walking style was a bit awkward, making Ann notice his discomfort.
But that wasn’t the main point—the main point was that Ann was worried about him!
Ye Rongyuan’s lips curled up, as if the pain had vanished without a trace.
He happily squatted down and hugged Ann tightly, "I was still hurting, but now that you’ve asked, it doesn’t hurt anymore!"
As he said this, a suppressed chuckle escaped behind him.
Qin Lvzheng parked his bike behind Ann’s mini bike and shot Ye Rongyuan a disdainful glance.
Ye Rongyuan turned to him and clicked his tongue, "Watch your manners."
After "lecturing" the younger generation, he deliberately held Ann and said softly, "Ann can’t tease me like your third brother. If you do, I might just cry!"
Hearing this childish remark made Qin Lvzheng want to scoff again, but this time he managed to hold it in.
Qin Sui’an looked between her third brother and little uncle. Although they seemed to be bickering, she didn’t feel any real malice from either of them; it was just playful teasing.
Ye Rongyuan hadn’t stepped foot into the Qin household in over three years. Even when it came to business matters with the Qin Corporation, he would send his assistant instead.
His last visit to Bay Villa had been a whirlwind—picking up Ann and leaving in a hurry.
Holding Ann, he stood up and scanned the surroundings. The environment seemed largely unchanged, except for some modifications in the garden.
Ye Rongyuan took a closer look at the garden.
Qin Sui’an followed his gaze and explained cheerfully, "Ann and the big white goose are staying in the flower bushes to eat the spiritual energy, so daddy revamped the flower beds. Now many people can enjoy them together!"
Ye Rongyuan was astonished, glancing at Ann in his arms.
Had he voiced his confusion? How did Ann immediately know he was thinking about the garden?
Or was his expression just that obvious?
Feeling a bit bewildered, he took a moment to digest Ann’s words.
Eating spiritual energy? That sounded like child’s play—perhaps it was just a game she and the big white goose shared.
"Oh, I see! That’s why the garden looks different." Ye Rongyuan dismissed his earlier thoughts and carried Ann into the castle.
As usual, he scanned the castle, noting that this visit revealed far more changes than the last.
The areas for decorations were adorned with various toys, big and small, along with cute stickers, making it clear that a child lived there.
Ye Rongyuan thought of his sister’s hospital room; before Ann’s presence, it had felt stark and empty. After Ann’s arrival, there were dedicated play areas filled with toys and fun things.
A smile spread across his face, feeling relaxed and joyful.
Old Mrs. Qin and Old Mr. Qin heard the commotion and came out from the living room.
Seeing Ye Rongyuan holding their little granddaughter, Old Mrs. Qin wasn’t surprised; a bodyguard had already reported when his car arrived at Bay Villa.
However, since Ye Rongyuan hadn’t rushed in, they were cautious and didn’t want to intrude.
Old Mrs. Qin first looked at Ye Rongyuan. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
The last formal meeting had been three years ago, and the few times they had seen each other since had been brief.
Now, seeing him directly, she noted that he had grown taller and had a more mature demeanor.
Old Mrs. Qin marveled at how quickly time had passed, watching the children grow, just as she heard Ye Rongyuan cheerfully greet them.
"Ah, dear in-laws, it’s been a while!" Ye Rongyuan flashed a bright smile, his voice cheerful and lively, not at all matching the word "mature."
Old Mrs. Qin laughed lightly, "It has been a while! You should stay for dinner with us!"
Ye Rongyuan had intended to do just that, so upon hearing Old Mrs. Qin’s invitation, he nodded eagerly, "I’d be delighted!"
"Hahaha..." Old Mrs. Qin chuckled at his response.
Seeing his wife so happy, Old Mr. Qin couldn’t keep his serious face either and managed a smile, "I’ll ask the kitchen to prepare an extra plate."
"Thank you, father-in-law!" Ye Rongyuan smoothly accepted the offer, showing both politeness and familiarity.
Qin Lvzheng glanced around, "Grandpa, grandma, where’s Niexun?"
He noticed the fourth brother’s bicycle parked at the castle entrance, meaning he should be home.
"He’s resting upstairs. Yanyi asked him to take it easy and not to come down unless necessary," Old Mrs. Qin replied.
Today, with Ann out with her third brother, Qin Niexun had simply stayed in his room to recuperate.
Qin Lvzheng instinctively commented, "Is he really listening to second brother?"
Old Mrs. Qin shot him a glance but didn’t respond further.
Since Qin Haochen and the rest of the Qin family hadn’t returned home yet, they headed into the living room to sit.
Ye Rongyuan acted as if he were visiting Ann’s second home rather than as a guest in the Qin family. He naturally accompanied Ann in a game of chess.
He had played chess with Ann before, but this time it felt different; she seemed almost prophetic, stopping him just before he was about to make a move, guiding him to a better one.
