Beloved One of the Prestigious Household-Chapter 422: Good News in Bad News
After adapting to kindergarten life for a while, the extracurricular activities began to take shape. The teachers recognized that Qin Sui’an was a clever little prodigy, so whenever there were chess, piano, or painting competitions, they invited Ann to participate. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Her masters, Gu Maowen and Zhu Xiulin, didn’t take the kindergarten competitions lightly. They personally attended to cheer for their little apprentice. Even her great-grandfather, her chess master, floated into the competition venue to support little Ann, while Ji Yi, who nearly became her master, also showed up to cheer her on.
Unsurprisingly, Ann helped the kindergarten win new trophies each time she participated. Her reputation as a prodigy grew, and everyone knew that Qin Sui’an was a smart, talented little genius!
During her time at kindergarten, Qin Sui’an often ran to the hospital to keep her mother company, rushing there right after school. Even though her mother was still in a deep sleep and unable to respond, Qin Sui’an would recount her day’s events at kindergarten to her.
Old Mrs. Ye quietly stood outside the room, listening to her granddaughter’s sweet, innocent voice, her eyes filled with affection. A soft footstep approached from behind; Old Mrs. Ye didn’t turn but stepped aside to allow room at the door.
Then she looked back at her son-in-law, Qin Haochen, who was returning with a bottle. She quietly asked, "Will you be staying here tonight?"
Qin Haochen held the bottle, using his warmth to keep the milk from cooling too much before it reached little one. He nodded, speaking softly, "Yes, there’s a parents’ meeting at kindergarten tomorrow morning, and Ann will go back in the afternoon."
Old Mrs. Ye slightly nodded, understanding, then asked, "What time is the meeting? I can go with Ann’s grandfather while you stay here with Ann."
Without hesitation, Qin Haochen replied, "Alright, it’d be great if you and Dad could run that errand. The meeting is at 9:30 tomorrow morning."
As long as the attendees were little one’s parents, Qin Haochen didn’t mind skipping the meeting; he preferred to stay in the hospital and spend more time with his wife and daughter.
Old Mrs. Ye glanced at the time. "It’s getting late; you two should rest early."
After saying this, she turned and left the hospital room.
"Mom, you should rest early too," Qin Haochen said, watching her go before stepping back into the room.
Qin Sui’an was thirsty after sharing her kindergarten stories and brightened up upon seeing her dad with the milk bottle. "Daddy~"
Not wanting to make her wait too long, Qin Haochen quickened his pace and handed the bottle to her. "Here, drink up. After you finish, it’s time for bed."
"Mm-mm!" Qin Sui’an hugged the bottle and nodded her little head obediently.
Qin Haochen skillfully lowered the accompanying bed, adjusted the pillows and blankets, and then sat beside the bed, looking at his wife on the hospital bed with a mix of tenderness and heartache.
He had checked with their second son, Qin Yanyi, and learned that Ye Zhaosi’s examinations had shown no changes; she hadn’t improved, but she also hadn’t worsened. It was somewhat good news amid the bad.
