Beneath the Red Dragon-Chapter 150 - 66: Alina the Giant Dragon Supremacist
The setting sun leaned at an angle, evening clouds joined seamlessly, the sunset melting into gold.
It seemed the Dragon Nest Mountain Range was also growing alongside the Red Dragon’s growth. Not only the Red Dragon’s peak but the entire mountain range was continuously rising and expanding under the influence of the Red Dragon’s power and the surging energy of the Earth’s core, becoming broader and more substantial.
Previously, the highest point of the range was merely around a thousand meters, but now the highest peak has transformed into the Red Dragon’s lair, far exceeding eighteen hundred meters in height.
Other peaks were also gradually rising; the Dragon Nest Mountain Range changed day and night, slowly shifting, though this was considered lethargic compared to the enduring rocks.
For the Dragon’s Beloved who resided nearby, frequent violent tremors in the mountains had become a commonplace sensation. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Day and night, the continually erupting molten lava covered the highest peak of the range, appearing exceptionally dark red under the golden hues of twilight. Even the swirling twilight clouds seemed to allow one to sense the looming sulfurous air, resembling an apocalypse.
The soaring mist and smoke mixed with the twilight, blending into the world’s somber darkness, shrouding the summit coated by fiery molten streams.
Eternal frost covered two other peaks, extending down to their midsections. Under the evening light, the ribbons of cold air seemed capable of crystallizing even the air atop the summit.
The frozen ice turned the upper part of the mountain into a rugged ice mirror, reflecting brilliant colors. Occasionally, birds flying by would pause and hover in front of the massive ice mirror, admiring their resplendent plumage.
Two waterfalls, cascading from the frost-covered mountain peaks, refracted the golden evening light, resembling a suspended galaxy, falling to the mid-mountain and finally flowing into the forest’s water pathways.
Another mountain peak, covered by Greenfield Forest, had a vast green canopy occupying the entire peak. Countless gigantic twisted trees formed the pillars supporting the canopy.
Above the canopy was a palace adorned with ancient vines, poisonous flowers, and thorny leaves, hanging lush points of vitality. Vegetation grew verdantly on the steep cliff, with ancient trees reaching out against the wind, rugged and twisted, frequently hosting nesting birds entering and exiting through the clouds.
Two other peaks were often enveloped in shadows, countless lightning bolts clashing within the clouds, storms lurking in concealment, ready to erupt.
Atop the peaks, the landscape resembled a desert perpetually battered by winds and sands, becoming a domain enveloped by storm sands. Yet, some desert plants thrived amidst the cliffs, such as prickly cactuses, scaled susu trees, and red willows.
A dozen or so different leaf-shaped poplar trees, towering saxauls, and other plants took root on these cliffs, sprouting from seeds unknowingly brought by birds, forming a kingdom.
The last unique peak was shrouded in a stench-filled dense fog, darkening the twilight smoke clouds. The entire mountain seemed like a swamp of accumulated years.
Birds halted here, beasts vanished, and only on clear days could one faintly glimpse a massive figure lurking amidst the thick black fog.
Among the peaks, either overlooking or guarding a slowly rising colossal fortress, this castle abandoned unnecessary human structures like watchtowers and walls, leaving only the core structure.
This made the castle resemble an enormous palace, destined as the future Holy Hall for the Dragons, the future King’s Castle for the Dragon Group.
Even from the foot of the mountain, Red Copper Dragon Alfred and Bronze Dragon Alina could imagine the castle’s majestic and grand structure once completed.
Nestled atop the peak, surrounded by clouds and fog, the Dragon Nest and King’s Castle gave Red Copper Dragon Alfred and Bronze Dragon Alina a profound sense of awe, unrelated to power, but sheer presence.
Even for Alina’s parents, two long-matured Bronze Dragons, who built their nest in the sea sufficiently vast, the treasures amassed by the adult Dragons made their lair shimmer with jewels, yet appeared rather petty against the backdrop of the Dragon Group.
Alina even felt that having a Floating City as her lair fell far short of the impactful sensation brought by the Dragon Group.
And Red Copper Dragon Alfred felt his nest was merely a kennel, nearly walking with his head held high as he followed the Centaur Warrior leading the way, sighing, "Such is how a Male Dragon should be!"
Bronze Dragon Alina said nothing, immersed in the process of leisurely ascending the mountain.
As night descended, numerous Kobolds and Green-skinned Goblins rode Dragon Beasts and Gray Wolves along the steps, holding aloft blazing torches that lit the fires along the wide stone steps, tall Flame Torches burned fiercely, layer upon layer ascending to the summit.
The young dragons Alfred and Alina sensed something and looked back; overhead, stars stretched across the sky, on the earth below, the brilliance of countless flames spread overwhelming the night, illuminating the entire vicinity of the Dragon Nest Mountain Range as if transforming into a city that never sleeps.
In the distance, the Golden City, despite being too far away, its upward flames radiated a glowing light, dispelling the surrounding darkness, appearing to the dragons like blooming flowers on the wilderness’s edge, akin to the shining luster of Gold Coins, mesmerizing both dragons.
"Such beautiful scenery," Bronze Dragon Alina sighed, while the sea held its deep and dazzling beauty, the myriad lights on land were unmatched colors in the ocean.
