Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 346: Demonstration of Power
Some of the dwarves, who had personally visited the Amphitheatre and admired its craftsmanship, were visibly angered that anyone would dare attack such a masterpiece.
A few werewolves also began casting side glances at the dragons.
Naturally, some of the dragons tried to voice their protests and objections.
"You overstep your bou—"
"Where is your eviden—"
"That’s a baseless accu—"
"ALSO!!" Miranda cut them off, raising her voice over theirs as she continued airing Heilong’s dirty laundry.
"He went on to resurrect trillions of Space Beasts, causing so much destruction in the Pinecone Galaxy that BOTH Jamie Westley and Sarina Aster had to intervene!"
"?!"
"!!"
"..."
Several realisations struck the moment those words left her mouth.
Those who had assumed Sarina had long forgotten Cassiel, given that over 400 million years had passed since his death, were quickly reminded that this was far from the truth.
The attack on the Amphitheatre had become common knowledge by now. It had been nearly six months since the incident, and it was the very reason Miranda had unseated all the Main Entities of the Universe, stripping their races of the privileges tied to that position and ignoring all messages sent her way.
That silence was what had ultimately forced the Supremes to return, demanding answers.
They had known that Jamie was the one who killed the resurrected ASB. They had also known that shortly afterwards, someone had used the power of death to wipe out the rest of the space beasts—they just didn’t know who.
Miranda’s mention of Sarina answered that question. No one in the room was unfamiliar with Sarina’s Angelic Death Authority.
Just like Jamie’s Azure Void Authority and Miranda’s Violet Inferno Authority, Sarina’s Angelic Death and Demonic Life Authorities were widely known across the multi-universal stage.
After that, Miranda, reaching the centre of the chamber’s floor, fixed her gaze on the fuming dragons as she concluded.
"So yes," she said, her voice flat and emotionless, "I dare be late, because I was cleaning up the mess that stupid lizard caused."
Then, as if something amusing crossed her mind, she chuckled softly under her breath.
"Oh, and did I mention the part where he practically sold out this universe by colluding with a known universal enemy?"
That was the moment the dragons erupted.
|Watch your tongue, girl!| barked one, a silver-scaled dragon with curling horns and molten orange eyes.
|She accuses one of our kind of treason, and that’s the most you say?!| Another shouted at the silver dragon, his aura flaring wildly, before turning to Miranda and roaring, |This provocation will not go unchallenged!|
A third dragon, eyes narrowed as he noted how Miranda seemed more focused on the tablets in her hand than their outrage, spoke.
"You should not presume to level such accusations without irrefutable evidence, Miranda Scott. Do not mistake your position for authority over us."
At that, Miranda finally looked up, a smug grin forming on her face.
"Evidence?? I’ve got so much evidence, I don’t even know where to begin!!"
She lifted the stack of tablets in her arms slightly, as if presenting them to the entire hall.
"Which kind would you like first?" she asked, her tone suddenly clinical.
"Residual traces of Heilong’s death energy on the corpse of the Amorphous Space Beast? His extracted memories showing precisely how he resurrected it? A recorded conversation with his co-conspirators, discussing how he planned to lay low after his scheme fell apart? Or maybe the direct testimonies—and extracted memories—of his co-conspirators, who are responsible for the murder of 7 Race Emperors, 22 Race Kings, and 216 Race Lords?"
With each item she listed, massive holograms appeared in the air above her, large enough for everyone in the chamber to see clearly.
The first showed a point-of-view of someone before what was unmistakably the corpse of the Amorphous Space Beast, their voice audible as they spoke to someone over a communicator, mentioning that Lapis wouldn’t be able to interfere.
The scene then shifted to footage of Heilong in his hidden location, moments before Miranda captured him.
Next came the attack on the Amphitheatre, showing masked figures on screen killing a Human Race Emperor, followed by footage of one beheading several elves, and two others striking down Demon Kings, ending when Rowena appeared and unleashed her Blood World.
No one made any move to interfere with the holograms, not just because Miranda’s power prevented any such attempt, but also because doing so would be a clear admission of guilt.
Miranda took another step toward the dragons, the faint sound of her sneakers brushing against the marble floor punctuating her next words.
"I have so much evidence, I could share it with everyone in this room—twice!!"
As soon as she finished speaking, her eyes lit up, and the bright blue of her right iris gradually shifted into a deep crimson as she turned her gaze toward the dragon who had demanded evidence.
"And you," she said, |you say I should not mistake my position for authority over you?|
A heavy aura burst from her body, lifting her hair slightly under the pressure. Across the hall, many eyes widened as the same thoughts ran through multiple minds.
’This child... she’s gotten even stronger.’
’Isn’t she supposed to be capped at the Quasi-Supreme Realm?! How is she still growing stronger, even with that limit?!’
’She hasn’t even achieved full Cosmic Superiority, yet she keeps getting stronger. How is that possible?’
Because she’s essentially a complete bootleg mutated cosmic being whose race factors were modified into something else after being combined with vampiric race factors and catalysed with the race factors of an Ancient Breed phoenix—
Not that anyone present would know that.
And Miranda wasn’t going to explain it to them.
|Should I remind you exactly why the Hybrids are at the head of this council, even with Supremes like you seated in it?|
Her tone turned cold.
|Did you forget who it was that fought against the Destruction Supreme... while the rest of you were cowering in fear of existence erasure?|
Her tone dropped, becoming low and unhurried.
|Should I remind you of the power...|
The ambient cosmic energy bent to her will, and the pristine floor of the hall transformed instantly.
The marble darkened and warped, columns behind her cracked and crumbled into ash, and the very reality around them was overwritten, transforming into a flaming wasteland engulfed in violet fire.
"What?!" one of the Supremes exclaimed.
"Fourth...Concretization?"
"Impossible," another said. "How...?"
’I can barely resist the overwrite...’
’And I thought her stagnant Cosmic Superiority after all this time would leave her weaker... I can’t even assert dominance over the surrounding cosmic energy with my authority ...’
Ignoring their shocked reactions, Miranda stepped forward again, her Aspect Dominion expanding beyond the Apex Planetoid they were on and stretching across the entire Zanerth O1 as she completed her sentence.
|...of the one who defeated the existence even you could not? The one even you, with all your Supreme power, could not face.|
Her words elicited mixed reactions.
There were mixed reactions to her words. Some of the non-dragon Supremes clearly took offence, their narrowed eyes and dark expressions betraying their displeasure. But Miranda paid no attention to any of their stares, keeping her focus solely on the dragons.
There was no hostility emanating from her, but that absence could mean one of two things—either this was nothing more than a demonstration of power, or she simply didn’t consider the dragon Supremes present worth the effort.
Just as it looked like the situation was on the verge of erupting into a full-blown altercation, with several dragons already beginning to push back using their own auras, a calm voice called out from the direction of the werewolves.
"Miranda."
Immediately, Miranda’s aura vanished, and the warped reality around them returned to normal as she turned toward the source of the voice.
"Yes, Grandfather," she said. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
The middle-aged man with deep, dark purple hair spoke, his voice as calm as his expression.
"I understand that you’ve had a lot to deal with over the past few months. But please, let’s keep things civil and not forget the reason we’re all gathered here."
Several furious dragons opened their mouths to speak, and a number of figures from other races looked ready to follow suit, clearly still stung by Miranda’s earlier words.
"That doesn’t give her the right to—"
"Her words crossed a li—"
But then, all of them went silent.
The werewolves turned their heads in their direction, saying nothing—just staring.
And they weren’t alone. The vampires followed with equally cold stares. Then came the angels, the demons, and even the spirits, who almost never involved themselves in political squabbles, all casting piercing stares at those who had just spoken up.
One by one, the would-be speakers closed their mouths.
