Bigshot's Sweetie Is a Cat!-Chapter 716: Shoving Her Head into the Ice Bucket
"See you at school tomorrow."
"..." Seeing that Gu Yao was determined to leave and couldn’t be stopped, Cheng Xia couldn’t even think of a word to persuade her to stay.
Just as he was about to offer to walk her out, the girl named Sasa, who had been humiliated earlier by Gu Yao, piped up again.
"Oh, do you really think you’re some kind of goddess? How much do you really think you’re worth, thinking the world revolves around you? You came here all unwillingly, thought you wouldn’t actually come, but here you are, just as expected. And now that you’re here, you’re making such a fuss, trying to get everyone’s attention. Is this really necessary?"
Gu Yao looked at the girl coldly, not intending to pay her any mind.
Just as she was about to leave, the girl spoke again.
"Our foreign friends are watching us right here. Can you not embarrass us Chinese people?! They say we Chinese are generous and understanding, but you... hehe, don’t ever claim to be Chinese again."
Gu Yao’s steps suddenly halted.
To be honest, she didn’t care what people said about her, as long as it wasn’t especially ugly or involved her family.
But this phrase "embarrass Chinese people" struck a nerve and sounded particularly jarring to her.
She turned, glanced at the four British students, both male and female, who were singing and completely ignoring the commotion, then said to the girl, "Then you tell me, how does someone show understanding and common sense? By looking down on others as you did just now? Making something out of nothing? Being two-faced? Making sarcastic remarks about Chinese medicine? Or when accused of having an unclean private life, jumping around like a clown?"
"You..." The girl instantly stood up in anger, her heavily powdered face turning alternately white and red with rage.
"Do you dare say that again?!" the girl gritted her teeth.
Never having endured such humiliation before, the girl couldn’t take it.
Now that the confrontation had erupted, nobody stepped in to pull the girl back; everyone was waiting to see the drama unfold.
The boys just stood there watching; they really had no experience in mediating when it came to girls fighting.
"I said you’re like a jumping clown."
The last few words, Gu Yao enunciated particularly clearly. Seeing that the girl still hadn’t thought of a good retort, Gu Yao gave a dismissive glance and simply walked away.
After just two steps, the girl suddenly called out to her.
Gu Yao instinctively turned around, and everything blurred before her eyes. Unable to dodge, she was drenched head-on.
A full cup of beer was splashed right onto her face, her clothes, her hair—everywhere.
The private room fell into complete silence.
Gu Yao raised her gaze to look at the girl holding the beer glass, proudly smirking at her, and suddenly smiled.
Everyone was a bit taken aback by her smile.
The next moment, Gu Yao stepped forward, grabbed the girl’s wrist, twisted it sharply behind her back, and with her other hand, pressed the girl’s head toward the ice bucket filled with beer and ice on the table before anyone could react.
The room, already quiet, became deathly silent; nobody could react.
Everyone just stared blankly at the scene.
Finally, it was Cheng Xia who came to his senses, rushed forward, and pulled Gu Yao away. Only then was the girl freed, as she lifted her head out of the ice bucket and collapsed on the floor in disarray.
Drenched with beer, her hair was a frizzy mess clinging to her face, and she clumsily wiped it away, coughing incessantly.
She was trembling uncontrollably.
Gu Yao looked at the disheveled girl sitting on the floor, looking as if her soul was about to leave her, and couldn’t help but laugh.
