Billion Dollar Player-Chapter 3: Breaking the Limit

Hellfire was a mysterious world that had remained unknown to humanity for a long time. The sudden connection of this world to Earth left everyone baffled and clueless about its purpose and existence.

Even though it sounded like a game-like world, it was definitely not virtual reality. One could only go there with their real body. However, with the current condition of his body, Raven knew that it was only suicide to go there.

First, he needed to regain his health while striving to collect as much knowledge as possible about his unfamiliar surroundings. And that's what he worked toward.

Over the next two days, the doctor made frequent visits to Raven's room to provide him with different medications aimed at accelerating his recovery and restoring his previous level of strength.

Despite being bedridden for years, Raven was able to stand and walk without any support after only two days. Additionally, he conducted further research into Hellfire, delving into all available information, publicly and privately. Even if he had to pay for information, he didn't hesitate.

During his days, he also started paying attention to the Astral Corporation. Despite his long coma, the company's board of directors had successfully maintained the company's stability to the best of their capacity.

As Raven prepared for his journey to Hellfire, uncertain of his chances of returning to earth, he also contacted a lawyer and made a will.

According to his will, if he couldn't return alive in the next ten years, then he was to be assumed dead, and most of his shares were to be donated to charity. As for the rest of his shares, he left them to the loyal servants that had stayed with him for the last five years.

The Astral household's servants were loyal, their dedication was not fueled by financial gain. He had a feeling that if he told them he was leaving some shares for them, they would've attempted to persuade him otherwise so he kept that a secret for the time being.

After tending to all other matters, he devoted his full focus to his recuperation. Despite being cautioned against overexertion, his stubborn nature prevailed.

The recovery that everyone said would take months... He manages to achieve that within one week! Even though he still wasn't at his peak condition, he was able to run now.

In fact, the rate of his recovery stunned even the doctor himself, who didn't think it was humanly possible to recover this fast!

Raven's speech, and his vision... Everything had recovered. If anything, he felt that his vision was even better than it used to be in the past.

He didn't know if it was because of the Limitless skill that he was able to recover faster, but his goal remained the same!

Three more days passed and Raven finally felt as if he was back to his old self!

He summoned everyone to the hall, informing them that he was going to be leaving soon. Even now, the servants didn't stop trying to persuade him, but to no avail.

Raven turned to acknowledge everyone in the room one final time before leaving. The group of servants could only stand by, powerless to stop their master from entering his bedroom and locking the door.

It was as if this was their last meeting with their young master...

Raven stood inside the room, his phone clutched tightly in his hand. Without any hesitation, he opened the cursed app. Its icon, eerily resembling a live flame, flickered in front of him. As he moved his finger closer to it, he could even feel the warmth emanating from the icon.

Taking a deep breath, he finally pressed the icon.

Upon opening the app, the initial screen presented the name, Hellfire. However, under that name, there was another sentence which made Raven quite curious, "Retribution of Gods."

While he was curious, a new page opened, revealing the option to recharge his account with Hellfire Coins.

During his research, he had heard quite a lot about Hellfire Coins, which was the currency of the new world. It was said that a person could spend human money to recharge their account before entering Hellfire.

The Hellfire Coins were widely utilized in the realm of Hellfire as the principal currency, serving various purposes such as acquiring valuable artifacts, medicines, and even land.

That's why, almost all players who entered Hellfire tried their best to take as many Hellfire Coins with them as possible. Unfortunately, there was a limitation.

A person could only spend hundred thousand dollars worth of real life money to get the Hellfire Coins. The conversion rate was 1:1.

Raven was already prepared to spend to the limit. However, as soon as the recharge screen opened up, the mysterious yet familiar system screen once again appeared before him.

In a rush, he began to gather as much money as he could. Since he had already opened the app, the hour long timer already started, leaving him not enough time to arrange money.

He realized it would be difficult to sell all of his shares on such short notice without causing harm to the company and ruining his father's legacy.

Thankfully, he had some options to secure funds. With the app already opened, he had a limited window of one hour to make a recharge before being sent to Hellfire.

He worked to the best of his abilities during that one hour, doing everything he could to gather more money!
