Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 267 - 254: Envy, Jealousy, and Hatred (Part 1)
Yi Luowa maintained a sweet smile as she gracefully entered the palace gates with Tong Airui. Behind them, the voice of the Protocol Officer soon rang out announcing arrivals:
"Soya, Prince Charles and Lady Jing Ya Odelrich have arrived—"
"Laman, Duke Teng Tianxiang and Lady Ouyang Beilei have arrived—"
"Tong Jiaqi and Lady Tao Yanran have arrived—"
"Viscount Mi Xiaotian and Lady Yan Zi Odelrich have arrived—"
"Miss Ning Mingxi and Mr. Mai Zekai have arrived—"
"Bastu, Chieftain Lance and Lady Qiqige have arrived—"
"Soya, Prince Monica and Princess Rain have arrived—"
"Viscount Mi Chenshuo and Miss Huang Zimeng have arrived—"
"Duke Eino Odelrich and Laman, Princess Connie have arrived—"
"From Country S, Prince You Jia and Duke Ai Ni Odelich have arrived—"
Yi Luowa hooked her arm around Tong Airui’s, her lips slightly curled up in a smile as she whispered, "Our family alone sounds intimidating with this lineup."
"It’s not too bad," Tong Airui responded with a doting smile.
"Chairman Yi Weiyang of PCW International Group has arrived—"
Yi Luowa froze in place instantly. "Second Uncle is here?!"
"Second Uncle got an invite too, but we wanted to surprise you, so we kept it from you," Tong Airui chuckled, patting her hand. "Let’s wait for Second Uncle. He said he wanted to walk in by himself and give you a big surprise."
Yi Luowa’s eyes lit up with excitement as she looked toward the palace gate. Under the sunlight, her Second Uncle’s tall figure appeared at the entrance. Tong Airui’s family surrounded him, accompanying him as he walked over at a measured pace.
At that moment, Yi Luowa was so emotional she wanted to cry. Sniffling, she grasped Tong Airui’s arm and quickly headed toward him.
Tong Airui watched her feet carefully at all times, worried she might falter even slightly.
"Second Uncle~" Yi Luowa called out with a sob in her voice. Her Second Uncle had stepped away from the wheelchair and the walking cane—standing tall, he was so imposing, so handsome, so upright!
Yi Weiyang smiled and said, "Take it slow, don’t fall."
"Second Uncle, you’ve changed! Last night, you didn’t even tell me you were coming!" Yi Luowa pouted as she complained, looking at him.
Yi Weiyang laughed, "If I told you beforehand, where would the surprise be?"
"Please, everyone, proceed to the main hall. King Muta is waiting for all of you," a waiter politely interrupted their conversation.
Tong Airui nodded and led the group into the grand hall.
King Muta, who was deep in conversation with Long Che, noticed them enter and smiled as he said to Long Che, "You sit for now; I need to greet my nephew’s wife."
Long Che shook his head with a smile and stood up with Tong Yao, following the couple as they walked up front.
Tong Airui brought Yi Luowa before King Muta. After bowing respectfully, he smiled and said, "Thank you, Uncle Muta, for hosting this royal banquet especially for Luowa and me."
"No need for these formalities. As your uncle, this is the least I could do," King Muta chuckled, shifting his gaze to Yi Luowa.
Yi Luowa quickly curtsied. "King Muta, Queen Royce, good day to you."
Queen Royce lifted Yi Luowa up with a warm smile. After sizing her up for a long moment, she remarked with great emotion, "Such a stunning girl—there isn’t a second like her in all of Xiawu!"
Yi Luowa smiled modestly. "Queen Royce, had I been born twenty years earlier and met beauty like you or my mother, I’d surely be the plain girl in comparison."
"Look at that! Such a sweet tongue, this one," King Muta said with a hearty laugh, turning to Tong Airui. "You lucky boy!"
Tong Airui smiled, holding Yi Luowa’s hand as he moved aside. Pointing toward Yi Weiyang, he grinned and said, "Uncle, let me introduce you to Luowa’s Second Uncle, Mr. Yi Weiyang."
"I’ve long heard of your reputation!" King Muta stepped forward, shaking Yi Weiyang’s hand tightly. "You’re not only the great financier of Xiawu but also the one who raised such an exceptional duchess for us. An invaluable asset—please, have a seat!"
Yi Weiyang smiled humbly. "You flatter me, King Muta. Compared to Zhuoyuan, my financial prowess falls short. As for Luowa, I feel a twinge of guilt—I’ve raised her loosely, and she’s been quite spirited. If she makes any missteps, I ask for your understanding."
"Mr. Yi, you’re far too modest. Please, have a seat!"
Yi Weiyang thanked him but refrained from sitting down, as several elders had yet to take their seats and it wouldn’t be polite to sit before them.
Only after King Muta greeted the elders did Yi Weiyang finally sit down alongside everyone.
Queen Royce’s gaze fell on Tong Aino and Connie as she chuckled. "Aino, are you worried I’ll check out your girlfriend? Why are the two of you hiding so far back?"
Tong Aino grinned and tentatively reached for Connie’s hand. Seeing that Connie didn’t resist, his face lit up with a radiant smile. "Aunt, this is Connie. She came here once when she was little."
