Sebastian’s POV

Stella and I went back to our table and sat quietly with my brother Louis. I noticed that dad was no longer at our table so I thought of asking Louis.

"Where’s dad?" I ask.

"Went to the other table, it looks like he saw a friend of his," Louis replied.

"I see," I replied.

"By the way, where did the both of you go and suddenly disappeared earlier?" Louis asked again.

"Um...Stella just talked to someone on her phone," I replied while Stella looked at me.

"Oh, okay, I thought there’s something you did," Louis said with a smile that surprised Stella.

"We didn’t do anything!" Stella said in astonishment. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"Okay, chill. You are very defensive of yourself. Just relax there, right bro? " Louis said.

I immediately looked at what Louis said and did not know what words to say.

"Yea, Louis is right, just relax there, Stella," I said while Louis patted me on the shoulder.

"See, I told you. By the way, Sebastian told me that you were a pet sitter of cats near his condo unit. So, tell me, how’s the experience of taking care of the cats? " Louis asked.

"Um, my boss’s cats are kind," Stella replied.

"No love quarrel going on!" Stella and I said at the same time.

Louis smiled at what we said. Stella was about to speak when suddenly someone spoke on the stage of the event so she keep silent. The emcee began to speak and shortly the emcee introduced the birthday celebrant. Everyone applauded as Aunt Lucy came out wearing a shiny red dress with a slit in her thigh. The emcee continued speaking while I drinking wine. I do not like to listen to birthday speeches or any speech that is not related to my work. Suddenly, I looked at Stella’s whereabouts who looked amazed at what she saw, it looked like it was her first time to attend such an occasion. I could not help but stare at her beautiful face and above all at her red lips. I was suddenly biting my lips as I stared at her lips. I feel like I want to kiss her right now. I just shook my head and drink the wine again when Stella suddenly turned to where I was.

"Do you think I didn’t notice you staring at me?" said Stella as she raised her right eyebrow.

"I’m not staring at you. Don’t be assuming. "

"Oh, really? I saw you swallowing your saliva earlier while staring at me, "said Stella.

"How did you say so? You didn’t look at me at all and you were facing the stage. "

"Women instinct," was her short answer.

"What? Women instinct? So, you believe in those such things, " I said with a smile.

"Yes. And what’s wrong with it? "

"Nothing. It’s just weird because not everything can be used by so-called women’s instinct and that’s not accurate at all. Sometimes, that is what causes arguments. "

"Why? Because those guys are guilty? And that is what the guilty men say, " said Stella.

"Excuse me? Am I guilty? In what way? What is difficult about women is that they tend to accuse men even though we are not doing anything wrong. In fact, most of us are being nice to our partners."

We sat quietly at our table for a few minutes while the other people invited were still speaking. They have fun as they give each other their birthday messages to Aunt Lucy. Moments later dad went to the stage as well and he also gave a bouquet of flowers and his message to Aunt Lucy. Honestly, I wanted to leave this place as soon as possible, I was starting to get bored. I looked at Stella again while eating and she was obviously bored as well.

"Are their foods delicious?" I asked Stella.

"Yes, it’s delicious," she replied.

"It’s good that you like it. I’m sure one of the foods here are made by your friend. "

"Yea, probably."

"You look bored now. You were just amazed a while ago though. "

"Um... this place is very elegant as well as the visitors, they all look such a high class in society. The clothes they are wearing look expensive as well, especially the birthday celebrant. "
