Billionaire's Pleasure-Chapter 68: The Talk
Apple’s POV
My time in Europe was some of the most unforgettable of my whole life, and we were there for a total of five days. Not because the work was engaging or because I impressed everyone with my knowledge of the telecom industry and my ability to analyze costs — even though I did both of those things, of course.
Those five days were some of the best of my life. Bruce Lawrence was in my bed. In spite of the fact that we were constantly touching each other, we were successful in concealing the fact that we were having an affair.
When the doors to the hotel elevator opened while Chris and Dew were standing there, it was a narrow escape for the three of us who were making out in the elevator. Bruce was on the opposite side of the elevator from me at the time, and I was on one side of it. We exerted a lot of effort to give the impression that we couldn’t abide being around each other.
It was one of the most challenging things that I had ever attempted to complete. When we were in the same room together, I had the want to run my fingertips over his skin (or elevator). The very thought of his made my mouth water. My female parts and his male parts expressed interest in throwing a party together, so we made arrangements. And we did party.
We were successful in avoiding each other throughout the day, which was not particularly challenging. While I was locked away with the nerds and analysts, Bruce was getting the royal treatment from the CEO and the other executives. I had the impression that Jones Telecommunications wouldn’t be there for much longer unless Onez Enterprises bought it. If that didn’t happen, I wasn’t sure what would happen.
I spent as little time as possible with the Omnilert team, and the majority of my time was spent having business dinners in the hotel restaurant to discuss the progress of the due diligence that we were performing.
There was nothing out of the ordinary that the forensic accountant Bobby had found.
Dew gave the impression of being pleased with the work that we had done and informed us that we would be heading back on Friday. When we got back to Omnilert on Monday, we would spend the rest of the week getting our findings ready to present to Lawrence on the following Friday.
Dew claimed, with an air of superiority, "I believe they’re delighted with the work that we’ve done, as though the credit belonged to him alone. Let’s finish strong, people, and knock their socks off next week," he said as the game came to a close.
Every night at approximately ten o’clock, Bruce would come up to my door and knock. He’d sneak into the room, then enter me, and then go. We would alternate between sessions of crazy, intense, nearly savage sex with sessions of softer, kinder, slower, and longer lovemaking. I can’t say that I favor either option more than the other. Everything was wonderful, whether it was quick or slow, tough or gentle, rough or tender... I didn’t need anything else as long as Bruce was close by. When he was within me, the happiness I felt was through the roof.
When I woke up on Friday morning, Bruce was at the foot of the bed lacing his tennis shoes. When I went back to sleep, he continued his activity. He would quietly leave my room every morning and make his way back to his suite, where he would take a shower and get ready for the day. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Good morning," he said with a pleasant expression on his face. He got really close to me in order to kiss me.
I yawned and muttered, "Morning." I pulled out my phone in order to look at the time. "Damn!"
"Are you planning to travel back with us today?"
He responded with a shake of his head and the phrase "I’m afraid not." Chris sent me a text message earlier this morning. I have some business obligations that need me to fly to Atlanta for a few days, but I’ll be back in the following week for the meeting to tie things up. I’m going to send you a text message from my phone while I’m on the road. There is no need to be concerned."
I mumbled, "I’ll miss you," while simultaneously attempting to conceal the fact that I was, in fact, a whiney and possessive young lady.
He stated it with a wistful look and then added, "I’ll miss you, too." He moved his head closer to mine and gave me another kiss. This time, for a slightly longer period of time. A little more. He left without saying a word as he quietly left my room, leaving me to think about how our relationship would develop once we got back home. Even though we hadn’t talked about it, it was something that was continuously going through my head. I was curious about my relationship with Bruce, but I didn’t want to broach the subject immediately away for fear of upsetting him.
Was he sincere about his interest in me? Or was it just a one-night stand?
Bruce’s POV
Henry was already ensconced in his first-class seat when I boarded the commercial flight The flight was operated by American Airlines.
It never occurred to me that Chris may become suspicious because of the honorable way I conducted myself while undercover. My assumption was obviously incorrect given that he was armed and ready to fight the moment I took a seat.
"Can you again re-explain to me why the Omnilert group isn’t going back commercially?" He got closer to me. I looked at him in a manner that suggested my confusion. "You’re always on my case about being respectful toward other people and not behaving like a spoilt brat, which I appreciate. In my perspective, that was a considerate move on their part. I had the impression that placing the needs of others ahead of my own would make you proud of me."
Chris was unable to contain his laughter. "Lawrence, give me a break. You didn’t want your new girlfriend to be forced to sit in the same section of the airplane as that jerk Bobby and that jerk Vince, did you? My kid, you are quite valiant. In addition to that, it’s completely out of character."
" For the God’s sake, Bruce, the lady you’ve been banging every night..." As he crossed his legs, he gently rubbed the palm of his hand over his knee. "I was completely under the impression that she was the sole woman who would not fall for your tricks. I had the impression that she was capable of more." He looked at me in an off-angle way for a moment.
"Are you able to elaborate on what that means?"
"It indicates that you have once again proved that you are capable of luring any woman into your bed. At the very least, it was not a member of the executive committee. If you were going to screw someone, I’m pleased it was a young Omnilert analyst and not someone who genuinely matters rather than someone who is important."
I switched to the side of my seat in order to face him. "That wasn’t the case."
"No? That’s how it seemed to me when I looked into it."
I did this for a short while, clenching my teeth together. "Wait a minute, how are you aware that I spent each night with her?" I made certain that I would not... "Did you have my telephone number with you?"
Chris heaved an exasperated sigh of boredom before stretching his palms out in front of him. "I had you on my tail."
As I looked about the cabin for witnesses to the fit I was going to throw, I could feel my blood pressure beginning to rise. Flight attendants were moving about the cabin as the last passengers were boarding. In spite of the fact that, on the inside, I managed to keep a composed demeanor on the exterior.
"What on earth were you contemplating?" I enquired in a hushed tone. "Have you taken note of me yet?"
He made it seem as though my inquiry was an idiotic one to him. "Are you serious?" I inquire. He made a shrugging motion with his shoulders. "Bruce, I love you like a son and think you’re a smart guy, but Onez Enterprises would be a lot larger corporation if you spent as much time." I only glanced at him briefly from the side. Chris was like an uncle to me, and I loved him dearly, but I couldn’t stomach being around him right now.
I posed a question to him, suggesting, "Perhaps you believe the company would be better off with you as CEO. A person whose bottom no longer produces results, forcing them to think with their mind instead."
"Listen, Bruce; this has nothing to do with me trying to take your spot."
"Well, Chris, what exactly is the problem?" I questioned, probably at a volume that was a bit too high. When one of the flight attendants came up to speak to me, I simply waved her off.
He told me, "You already understand the situation."
Tell me about it. "Let’s pretend I don’t have any."
Chris removed his reading glasses from the pocket of his blazer and cleaned them with a handkerchief before putting them back in the pocket. He readjusted his glasses so that they rested on the bridge of his nose, and then he reached over to the seat next to him to grab a copy of Street Journal.
"It’s about your inability to see what’s right in front of your face, my boy," he said as he read the front page of the newspaper through his glasses. "It’s about your inability to see what’s right in front of your face. You’re incessant need to get wasted, party hard, and play the villain takes your attention away from the things that really matter. As usual."
I couldn’t help but stare at him as I resisted the want to reach out and pull the damned piece of paper out of his grasp. "Chris, can you tell me what it is I’m lacking?"
He exhaled deeply as he peered at me through the rims of his reading glasses, and then he sighed.
"All I’m saying is that if your girlfriend messes up this business transaction for us, you’re the only one who can take the blame," Now, son, fasten your seatbelt. It’s going to be a very thrilling ride.
