Chapter 901: Chapter 564: I Can Still Handle This Woman

Ivy raised an eyebrow, grinning mischievously, "Hey, don’t you think that Mr. Balthazar is actually quite nice?"

"He is nice. So, do you want to marry him?" He squinted slightly.

Ivy crossed her arms, "If he’s nice, don’t you think I should consider it?"

"His parents wouldn’t dislike me either, and I think he quite likes kids."

"Ivy, are you trying to provoke me?"

Ivy couldn’t help but laugh, "Why would I provoke you? I’ve got nothing better to do."

Henry Sullivan leaned forward slightly, "I should remind you, I haven’t signed the divorce papers yet, so we’re still married. Bigamy is illegal."

Ivy furrowed her brows, "You haven’t signed? Why not?"

"I’ve told you before, I don’t want to get a divorce.

I also think Balthazar is a nice guy, but I’m not going to give you up to him.

It’s not easy to meet a woman you truly love in this life.

If I gave you up to someone else, I’d be insane."

Ivy looked at him knowingly and laughed, "Aren’t you going to ask what I think?"

Henry raised an eyebrow at her, "Could it be you truly want to marry him?"

Ivy couldn’t help but laugh, "I just made things clear with Mr. Balthazar a moment ago.

Today was actually our first meeting.

My mom doesn’t want me to spend my life alone, nor do I want to go back to your house and be slighted by your mom.

So she wanted to find me a support, and had her colleague at school set me up with Mr. Balthazar.

The fact that Mr. Balthazar was a guest at my house today is known only to my mom.

I never intended to remarry.

Even if you had signed the divorce papers, I wasn’t planning on actually divorcing you.

I’ve thought it over... as long as I don’t remarry, Ivy will have only one dad and one mom.

Even if we don’t live together, she won’t be upset.

Besides, we still see each other often. I never planned to remarry, not even once."

Henry leaned forward wanting to hug her, but Ivy tapped his hand, "My parents are still at home. What if they came out and saw us?"

Henry laughed, "You’re really good at threatening me, but you seem to forget, I just said I haven’t signed the divorce papers yet."

"I haven’t forgotten, and I also know... you’re a soldier, always afraid to be seen hugging me in public."

As soon as she finished speaking, Henry had already used his long arms to pull her into his embrace tightly.

Ivy was speechless. He really wasn’t afraid at all, taking advantage of her parents not coming out.

Henry laughed, warmth spreading by her ear.

"If I continue being a soldier, I might still not be able to be with you often in the future. Would you blame me?"

"Not really. As long as you can make time to be with the kid often, it’s fine."

Henry rubbed the back of his head, and Ivy moved away from his embrace, "You should probably head back now."

"Are you kicking me out? Surely this isn’t the only matchmaking session?"

"What are you thinking? At this hour, Cynthia needs to sleep." Ivy glared at him, standing up, "You should go."

Henry laughed, "Alright, then you guys sleep. I’ll stay with you."

Ivy furrowed her brows, "Stay with us? Aren’t you afraid my parents might misunderstand?"

"Your mom and dad are not as sharp-tongued and harsh as my mom. Let’s go, I haven’t been with you two for a long time."

Ivy glanced at him and smiled. Just then, Paisley Golden emerged from the bedroom, looking quite unhappy.

Seeing this, Ivy frowned and asked, "What’s wrong, Mom? Weren’t you quite happy when you went in?"

"Happy about what? Your dad... I really don’t know what to say about him. Just scolded me for half an hour inside, so maddening."

Ivy smirked, "I think I know why Dad said that to you, you brought it upon yourself."

"Ugh, you child," Paisley Golden glared at Ivy, then turned to Henry, "Henry, would you like something to drink? I’ll get it for you."

"No need, Mom. I was thinking about going into the room with Ivy and the kid to rest a moment. Is that okay with you?"

Paisley Golden felt awkward. She wasn’t exactly a conservative person.

But now that her daughter and son-in-law were divorced, him going into the room to rest with her daughter didn’t seem too appropriate?

"Go ahead," Paisley Golden thought that, but her mouth said something else entirely.

Ivy was speechless. This is her mom? Sometimes she even wonders how her mom’s IQ allowed her to become a professor.
