Birthing Legends: My Womb Creates SSS Monsters-Chapter 64: Whack A Worm: Mana Distortion in Area 3! — Part 2.
Maddy’s breath hitched as she watched Sephiran tear through the horde. The dark, oppressive aura of the Hell Body should have left him a shriveled husk within minutes, but instead, the boy seemed to be getting stronger.
Sephiran bounced from one spot to another, moving so fast he blurred across the battlefield. In a flash, he even darted into Arach’s space, snatching three worms right out of his brother’s reach and smashing them together in a single swing.
"Haha! Brother! I’m stealing these ones! Three hundred and fifty two, WHOOO!"
His bat leaving trails of red light that vaporized everything it touched. Arach skidded across the floor, his six eyes blinking in surprise.
"Hey! That was my target, you little thief! You’ve become too fast!"
He let out a booming, proud laugh.
"Alright! If you want to play at that speed, I’ll show you how a Chimera brother truly moves!"
Arach’s feet suddenly bristled with Extreme Adhesion. With a single push, he launched himself at the vertical cave wall, body parallel to the ground, sprinting with gravity defying grace. Along his path, he slashed every worm clinging to the wall, each one shooting mineral shards as he cut through them.
"FOUR HUNDRED!"
Not stopping, he fired webs from his palms, pinning a cluster of ceiling dwelling worms against the rock. Wall running over them, his sword limbs diced the immobilized monsters into neat, symmetrical cubes.
"Four hundred and twenty two! You’ll have to do better than that, Sephi!"
Sephiran, planted firmly on the ground, rotated his head a full 360 degrees just to keep Arach in view, eyes wide.
"HEY! THAT’S CHEATING!"
Suddenly, Arach’s secondary eyes twitched. His Tremor Sense screamed a warning. The ground wasn’t just shaking from Sephiran’s impacts... something was moving beneath them with the speed of a subterranean freight train.
"Wh-what is that?"
"Arach, get out of there!"
Maddy shouted, her Divine Sight catching a massive, dark mass surging upward.
BOOM!
The floor disintegrated. A gargantuan, fleshy tube erupting with thousands of serrated, rotating teeth burst from the earth. It swallowed Arach whole in a single, sickening gulp, continuing its upward momentum until it slammed into the cavern ceiling with a bone shattering thud.
"BROTHER!!"
Sephiran screamed, his red aura flared into a violent explosion of grief.
"NO! GIVE HIM BACK!"
"Wait, Sephiran! Look!"
Maddy pointed upward, her heart hammering against her ribs.
High above, jammed against the stalactites, the worm’s mouth was forced wide open. Arach’s primary arms were braced against the ceiling for leverage, while his four additional chimeric arms were jammed into the creature’s upper and lower jaws, muscles bulging as he held back the crushing bite.
"You... think... I’m... DIGESTIBLE?!"
Arach roared, his voice muffled from inside the throat. Maddy’s eyes flashed as the system updated.
[New Monsterpedia Entry: Wyrm Worm]
[Wyrm Worm (Alpha Form) — Habitat: Cave / Forest / Volcano / Swamp]
[A massive predatory worm that feeds on other worms, including its own kind. Its body may feature multiple maws, each resembling a worm species it has consumed. Some Wyrm Worms develop extra maws, allowing them to devour multiple prey simultaneously if they have consumed many different worm species.]
Maddy’s jaw dropped—another relative, but now... an alpha!
"OH MY GOD. OH MY WORM! AN ALPHA FORM!? NO WAY THIS IS REAL!"
She recalled everything from the Worm Monsterpedia.
"As a Chimera Worm, I eat anything to gain traits. Mineral Worms consume minerals and ores, turning them into dense, rock like armor. Man Eater Worms are carnivores. And this one... it eats its own kind. A cannibal!"
Her gaze flicked to Sephiran boys who is counting the worms he had just slain.
"That’s how it happens... my sons have killed nearly a thousand worms, and now this alpha has spawned. And in a mana distortion? It’s far stronger than a normal alpha!"
Sephiran didn’t hesitate. He screamed, leaping into the air, his bat wreathed in dark flames as he aimed straight for the creature’s midsection.
"I’LL KILL YOU! LET GO OF MY BROTHER!"
But as he swung, he realized, what he thought was just its tail was... another mouth. The Wyrm Worm slithered toward him, snapping its jagged maws.
"Wha—! Another mouth?! Which one is the real one!?"
The Wyrm Worm’s maws were enormous. Even if Sephiran tried to swing his bat at it, the creature was simply too large—its jaws could swallow him whole.
Sephiran’s eyes widened. He spun around and sprinted toward his mother.
"MOTHER! HELP!"
But he didn’t need to ask.
Maddy was already there.
She appeared in front of him in a blur and wrapped her arms around Sephiran, twisting her body as she pulled him away from the Wyrm Worm’s snapping maw.
"You’re safe, son. Mother is here."
The maw that missed them slammed into the remaining worm horde instead, tearing through them in an instant as it devoured them with loud, sickening crunches.
CRUNCH! MUNCH! SLURP!
Maddy shivered at the sound.
"Argh... this worm species is the worst!"
Above, Arach’s six arms braced against the upper maw’s throat, his muscles screaming under the pressure.
"I... must commend you... your mouth is strong. Grr!"
Arach roared, his secondary pupils constricting.
Deep within the creature’s throat, a kaleidoscopic glow began to pulse. The Wyrm Worm was priming a cluster of jagged diamond shards—ready to shred him from the inside out.
"SH*T! It’s preparing a breath attack!"
Arach strained harder against the crushing maw, his arms trembling from the force. But then he realized something.
This position... was actually in his favor.
A slow, dangerous grin spread across his face.
"Yeah, that’s right... I’ll breathe inside your mouth instead. Not today."
His eyes flared crimson.
"DΣMӨПIᄃ BᄂӨӨD ΛЯƬ: Blood Bolt!!"
He unhinged his jaw, and a spear of obsidian red lightning erupted from his throat. The two forces collided inside the worm’s gullet. The mineral shards shattered into dust, and the Wyrm Worm let out a shriek. It recoiled, releasing the ceiling and diving back into the earth in a spray of pulverized stone.
