Bizarre Realm-Chapter 403 - 37: Meteorite from the Heavens! The Advent of the Dragon!
Abyss City.
Shawn donned a black cloak, took out a gas mask, put it on, and walked out of the Demon Tower in the Secret Technique Area.
He needed to take a couple of steps to clear his mind; the amount of information he received today was simply overwhelming, far beyond his previous scope of understanding. Especially during his research on the Great Prophecy Art, some broken futures he glimpsed shook him profoundly. He finally understood why there were so few Prophecy School mages in the Bizarre Realm—because attempting to study this craft and slightly advancing the prophecy’s timeline could potentially involve the nameless ancients, leading to madness and death as the eventual outcomes.
Take the crisis of the Ring City as an example; if you sense something and cast a prophetic spell, you might directly anchor three high-rank existences: a fallen Death Demigod - the Ancient Tomb King, an awakened God of Mysterious Cold Bone, and a mad Wind Elemental Divine Monster sealed within the Vessel of Greed.
Prophetic spells possess a certain law of cause and effect, deducing countless future possibilities based on all current information. If your strength is insufficient, it is best not to predict anything related to a Divine Level existence; otherwise, if you slightly attract their attention, your end will be quite dire.
If you employ the Great Prophecy Art to predict the Bizarre Realm’s future, you will almost invariably witness many apocalyptic visions, and if your ability is strong enough, you might even see the awakening of the Ancient Pillars at a future moment.
Seeing them means they also see you, even in prophecy.
Both Lady Hecate and Aemon are demigods skilled in the prophetic arts, but they never seriously taught Shawn any high-tier prophetic spell.
However, those from the Space-Time Hub, the Time Dragons and Space-Time Guardians, are different. They inherently exist to probe the secrets of timelines; especially regarding potential future timelines, they will do everything to find the most promising possibility in countless ones.
Thus, that Space-Time Guardian taught Shawn a Ninth Ring Great Prophecy Art—’Foreknowledge of the Future.’ Shawn merely glanced at it and glimpsed a terrifying disaster likely to occur years later.
The Time Dragon told him, when casting the Great Prophecy Art over a ten-year span, any point in time would reveal a hopeless apocalypse. It’s much like the Doomed Sun’s Broken Plane, where, over several centuries, anyone casting prophetic spells would see this world heading toward destruction.
This visible apocalypse even drove some ancient Primordial Mages insane. (PS: The casters of the Doomed Sun Plane extracted the entire planet’s life force to cast spells. It was a realm ravaged by Ancient Evils. There was also a realm where a Primordial Vampire extinguished the sun, called the Dark Celestial Universe, considered the strongest celestial universe for vampires in the DND Crystal Wall Series.)
And in the Bizarre Realm, if you try to predict events decades into the future, you almost inevitably catch glimpses of the ancient awakening and the gradual disintegration and destruction of the entire world.
To put it another way.
You are the Prophet Grandmaster of the Ferren Plane, and you wish to peer into the future. Once you cast a spell, the anchored future points to the existences like the God of Murder - Shirek, the God of Tyranny - Bane, the Night Goddess - Shire, etc. They either want global annihilation or engage in massive conflicts, leaving the Prime Material Plane scarred and battered.
Every Prophet Master sees a different future. In Shawn’s casting of the Great Prophecy Art, he saw the entire planet being torn into halves.
The scene was like cutting an egg.
A circular egg cut in half from the middle, with the yolk inside being the planet’s core, gnawed by the Touch of Flesh and Blood as if by crawling worms, full of scars. However, in Shawn’s final vision of the future, he didn’t see the world completely annihilated or the entire planet turned into dust.
Because the remaining half of the planet continued to rotate, yes, half of the planet still persisted, with Divine Terra’s atmosphere remaining intact.
The last vision Shawn saw was a more distant future.
He saw thousands upon thousands of interstellar battleships, continuously transporting materials, many sourced from other planets and elemental planes. Millions of casters were tirelessly repairing this planet, akin to performing the most spectacular surgery in history. Meanwhile, on the severed half of the planet, they ignited an ’Eternal Fire’ from the Fire Elemental Plane, turning materials from the Earth Elemental Plane into the Earth Core, linking the outer layers to the Elemental Channel, with countless steel fortresses built on the surface. Majestic steel bastions stood on the planet’s surface.
Shawn observed that the lost half of Divine Terra was reattached in outer space, with innumerable interstellar battleships and floating cities dragging an immense metallic construct, much like a mechanical prosthesis installed onto the fractured body of the planet.
One half was the original planet, the other half was an iron-cast space fortress.
Shawn didn’t know whether this counted as an apocalyptic prophecy, given that the entire planet had shattered, but the future he saw with the Great Prophecy Art seemed unlike any other.
"This is also why we’ve come to find you specifically."
The whispered voice of the Time Dragon echoed: "In all the future timelines we’ve predicted, your existence will interfere with the law of cause and effect of other timelines."
