Chapter 35: Do Not Unlock Yet This Chapter Will be Edited In the next few hours

Across the room, Elliot’s eyes settled on the book—the very same book he’d used during the exam where his life had taken an unexpected, disastrous turn. The very book responsible for that slightly unfortunate incident of accidentally summoning Azrael as his husband.

Wait... slightly unfortunate? Elliot frowned, realizing his own thoughts. Since when did he consider that mess only slightly unfortunate? Was he getting used to having that overbearing Demon King around? No, that couldn’t be it. But then again... Azrael had saved him more than once now, hadn’t he? And he wasn’t nearly as terrifying as Elliot had first imagined. Not all the time, at least.

But before his mind could wander too far down that treacherous path, his eyes hardened, and his lips curled into a scowl. His earlier thoughts were immediately thrown out the window as he stormed over to the book, his temper flaring. His fingers gripped the spine tightly, shaking it as if trying to strangle the inanimate object.

"It’s all your damn fault!" he growled, his voice echoing in the small room. "You... you stupid, useless piece of—ugh!" A string of colorful curses followed as he shook the book again for good measure. "You put me in this stupid mess!"

After a few moments, his anger simmered down. He took a deep breath, his shoulders relaxing as he sank onto his bed. In truth, tearing the book apart was a tempting idea, but even he knew that would be an incredibly stupid move. Like it or not, this book was his only clue to getting out of this situation. Without it, he’d be lost.

Elliot flipped the pages with a grunt, his fingers moving quickly as he searched for the exact spell he had used that day. His eyes narrowed when he found it—the summoning spell that had changed his life. The incantation was the same. Every word was just as he remembered, yet this time, he could see the complexity behind each rune, the power laced within every line.

He had stumbled into this mess unknowingly, but now he was looking at it with new eyes. He was determined to understand it, to control it. If summoning Azrael had gotten him into this chaos, then maybe summoning him again could help get him out of it.

His jaw tightened with resolve. He had no other options. If he wanted answers, then he would have to call Azrael here himself. And besides, he did need to talk to Azrael about using his influence to get a better dorm room.

He positioned himself on the floor, just as he had done during the exam. His fingers moved in familiar motions, tracing the summoning circle on the ground with precision. Channeling his mana, he chanted the spell, his voice steady despite the growing tension in his chest.

A deep red glow began to form within the magic circle, illuminating the room with an eerie light. The air grew heavy with power, crackling around him. Elliot’s breathing grew ragged as the spell consumed his energy, draining his mana at an alarming rate. When he finally finished, he collapsed back onto his hands, panting heavily. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

His eyes flickered up, a small smile of accomplishment on his lips. He’d done it. Unlike the first time, when he had accidentally summoned Azrael without meaning to, this time he had done it on purpose. And it had worked. The circle was complete, glowing brightly on the floor.

But as seconds turned into minutes, Elliot’s smile began to fade. He stared at the glowing circle, waiting... and waiting... and waiting some more. But no one came out.

Azrael was not appearing.

Elliot’s eye twitched in annoyance. "You’ve got to be kidding me... This damned demon! The one time I actually want him to show up, and he’s nowhere to be found?!" His fingers curled into fists, his whole body trembling with frustration. "He has the nerve to appear when I don’t need him, like some annoying pest... But now? Now when I actually need his help? He’s a no-show?! Unbelievable!"

Elliot’s mind raced with possibilities. Where could Azrael be? Was he busy? Did he even know that his so-called husband was summoning him? Did he even care?

"Husband... Hmph, husband my foot!" Elliot muttered, crossing his arms stubbornly. But his gaze remained fixed on the glowing red circle, its light flickering almost mockingly.

Then, a thought struck him. He quickly picked up the book again, his eyes scanning the pages rapidly. After reading for a few moments, he set the book down with a sigh. Just as he had suspected... It was a two-way summoning spell.

That meant the magic circle wasn’t just for bringing someone to him. It could also take him to wherever the person he was summoning currently was. In other words, he could travel to Azrael’s location... which meant stepping right into the Demon Realm.

Elliot’s face paled, his body stiffening at the thought. "G-Go over there? To the Demon Realm...?" His throat tightened as he swallowed nervously. Absolutely not. No way in hell was he going to recklessly throw himself into a world he knew nothing about. A world ruled by demons. A world ruled by Azrael.

He shuddered, shaking his head furiously. No, that was definitely out of the question.

But he couldn’t just give up either. He needed Azrael’s help. His eyes fell on the magic circle again, and a new idea began to form. It was risky and a bit embarrassing, but it was also clever.

Grabbing an empty container, Elliot unscrewed the lid. Then, taking a deep breath, he leaned in close and whispered into it. His words were slow, hesitant, and utterly mortifying. His face grew redder and redder with every word, his body trembling with embarrassment.

When he was done, he quickly shut the lid and looked away, his face burning. He had never imagined saying such things in his life, let alone to the Demon King of all people. But he had done it. For the sake of his room and his pride, he had swallowed his embarrassment.

Focusing his energy, he chanted a guiding spell, channeling his mana into the container. The container glowed softly before it floated over to the magic circle, slowly sinking into the red light. Then, the magic circle disappeared with a faint hum, and the room fell silent once more.

Elliot let out a long breath, relief flooding him. If he couldn’t summon Azrael, and he wasn’t crazy enough to go to the Demon Realm himself, then the next best option was to send a message. Hopefully, Azrael would respond soon.

A tired smile appeared on his face. He had to admit, that was a pretty smart idea.

Feeling exhausted and sticky with sweat, Elliot decided he deserved a shower. As he stood up, he found himself hoping that Azrael would get his message soon. He was at his limit with this dorm room injustice.

After a refreshing shower, he stepped out of the bathroom with just a towel wrapped around his lower body. But as soon as he looked up, his heart nearly stopped.

Standing across the room was a figure dressed in all black, their face obscured by a shadowy hood. The air around them crackled with dark energy, and their presence filled the room with a cold, suffocating aura.

Elliot’s body froze in horror, his blood running cold.

Who... who the hell was that?!
