[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 126: Arcane, You’re Not Cheating, Are You?
As Arcane said, the next day he finally returned home and arrived in the afternoon. Luna was the happiest to see her father come home. She immediately ran towards him and hugged him.
The fatigue from the trip seemed to disappear instantly when Arcane saw his daughter.
"Daddy!" She exclaimed happily as she ran towards him and hugged her father.
"Oh, hello Luna. Did you miss me?" he asked as he hugged his daughter and kissed her forehead.
The little girl nodded, kissing his cheek. She said she missed him very much even though he had only been gone for two days.
Not long after, Julian followed his husband, who had just arrived. Arcane was quite happy to see the man again, but he noticed something different about him. Julian’s face looked tired, a little pale, and as if he was thinking about something.
He put Luna down from his arms and walked over to his husband.
"Are you okay?" he asked worriedly, touching his cheek.
Julian nodded his head, saying he was fine. "I’m fine. I’m glad you’re home."
Even so, he still felt worried when he saw his current condition.
"Did you get enough rest? Or are you feeling tired because your face looks a little pale?" he asked again.
"I’m fine. I also get enough rest because I always sleep with Luna whenever I accompany her to bed."
Even though what he said was something she usually did, Arcane still felt worried. But he chose to remain silent for now.
They gathered together in the living room, talking about Arcane’s trip during the school trip. Luna sat on his lap, eating the snacks her father had brought her.
The red-haired man felt so happy to be among his family again, especially with his husband and their adopted daughter.
On the other hand, Julian was still suspicious and worried about what Arcane had been doing while he was away from them. The fact that he was with Kyle made him think that Arcane might be cheating on him.
’That’s impossible. He’s not the type of person who would cheat, especially with someone like Kyle. He may be a better cook than me and have a slightly feminine nature. But that doesn’t mean he would cheat on me with him, right?’ he thought at the time.
Since it was already 8:00 PM, Julian put Luna to bed because it was time for the girl to rest.
"But Luna still wants to play with Daddy!" she said in a pleading voice.
"You can play again tomorrow. Besides, Daddy must be exhausted after such a long trip. So let him rest first, and you should go to sleep now too." Julian persuaded her as he carried his little daughter to her room.
At that moment, Arcane finally went to the bathroom to clean up and rest, waiting for his husband in their room.
At exactly 10:45 p.m., Julian, who had just woken up after putting Luna to sleep, left his room. He intended to go to his room with Arcane.
As soon as he left his room, suddenly a pair of hands wrapped around his waist and immediately pulled him closer to the warm body of a man who was now behind him.
"W-Wait—"
"Why are you avoiding me? You didn’t even answer my question about what’s wrong with you," said the man, who was none other than Arcane, who was now hugging her tightly from behind while bringing his lips close to his ear.
Julian paused for a moment upon hearing the question. He wasn’t too surprised to hear it because, in reality, without realizing it, he had been avoiding Arcane because of his own thoughts.
"Nothing. I’m just thinking too much about something I shouldn’t be thinking about. You must be tired. You should be asleep, but why are you still awake?"
"How can I sleep when I miss my husband so much? I haven’t slept with you for two nights, and now you’re still asking me to sleep alone?" Arcane turned to ask him, loosening his embrace and turning the man’s body in front of him.
Now it was clear that Julian’s face looked so tired and preoccupied. Even though it was all just his own thoughts about Arcane possibly cheating on him.
"I’ve known you since two years ago. To me, you’re like an open book. I know you’re not really okay." He cupped his face with both hands, gently rubbing his cheeks with his thumbs.
He asked Julian to tell him what was on his mind, because he would definitely listen to him.
He then took Julian to their room to talk about this.
Once in the room, he finally expressed his anxiety, and he himself felt that it was quite silly to think this way. He should trust Arcane and not think that the man was doing the bad things he was worried about.
"I heard from your father that you and Kyle were placed in the same place. Especially when he fainted, you carried him down the hill. I just thought that I was worried you would like him more than me. I know this sounds very silly, but..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Julian was suddenly pushed onto the bed with Arcane right on top of him, holding his arms on either side of his head.
"Are you trying to tell me that I’m cheating on you? Don’t you trust me anymore?" he asked, sounding firm but still gentle.
"That’s not what I meant! I’m just worried, especially since lately there have been so many people cheating with their own coworkers. Especially if that person is someone like him," replied Julian.
Arcane was silent for a moment when he heard this. He then approached his face and kissed him.
"If I thought he was much better than you, I would never have chosen you in the first place. I already know he likes me. And if I did like him, I would have left you by now."
Julian knew that what he said was true. Arcane was not someone who would spend time with someone he didn’t want to be with. He would definitely be cold to people he didn’t like.
But his husband was still warm and attentive to him without showing any signs of liking someone else.
"I don’t need someone like him to be my partner. Just because he’s good at cooking and seems more obedient than you. I choose you over him."
Because for Arcane, someone like Kyle was already perfect enough to live his own life. But with Julian, he felt needed and that they complemented each other.
He didn’t need someone perfect, he needed someone who could understand him and give him unconditional love.
"Arcane... I..."
His words trailed off as Arcane’s hand slipped under his clothes, touching his stomach and chest. Julian’s face flushed, and his body felt so warm and aroused after several days of not doing it.
"It seems I have to show you how much I love you."
