[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 91: Having Our Own Children
Julian felt so sad when Amanda finally returned to her parents’ arms. He felt he hadn’t had enough time to play with the little girl, even though they could still see each other since they lived next door to each other.
However, he felt he wanted to have his own child so he could spend 24 hours a day with them. Especially since he sometimes felt lonely when Arcane went to work.
Arcane understood these feelings, and he was thinking the same thing—maybe it was time for them to have a family of their own. Although he himself still had doubts sometimes, wondering if he could be a good father or not because he had never grown up with a father figure around him.
But he couldn’t stand seeing Julian continue to be sad about this, so he agreed and thought about adopting a child.
"I think that’s a much better choice if you really want to have a child. We can adopt a child from an adoption agency, and it will definitely cure your loneliness too," he said, offering his advice.
Hearing this idea, Julian nodded in agreement and was very eager to adopt a child, so they could have a child of their own.
He already seemed so excited about the idea and wanted to do it right away. However, as usual, Arcane would always be there to hold Julian back from expecting something so quickly.
"We’ve discussed this before. It will take a very long process to adopt a child, plus there will definitely be people from the government who will check our house and our background. Are we worthy or not to be able to adopt a child?" he explained.
Julian recalled that their reputation had always been good and they had never had any dealings with the police.
"We can definitely do it! We’ve never had any dealings with the police, and our track record is certainly good. As for this house, I think it’s suitable for us to live in together. So what other requirements might they have for us?"
The two of them began trying to find an adoption agency with requirements that weren’t too difficult for them to meet. Some of the requirements were indeed quite difficult for them to fulfill.
Finally, they found an adoption agency that met their requirements. Unfortunately, it was quite far from where they currently lived and took three hours to get there. That meant it would take six hours for them to go there and back home.
"Of all the adoption agencies, only this one meets our requirements. We have to pay $9,000 to $20,000 to adopt a child," said Arcane as he read the requirements.
Julian was silent for a moment when he heard how much money they would have to spend. Where would he get that kind of money?
He knew Arcane was already burdened with paying for the house they currently lived in. Not to mention if he had to spend money to adopt a child.
’Plus, raising a child requires a lot of money. I don’t want to burden him. I feel like I’m useless because I can’t get a job to help,’ he thought at that moment.
Realizing that Julian was silent, Arcane turned his head, looked at him, and gently pinched his cheek just to tease him.
"Hey, why are you so quiet? Are you thinking about something?" he asked.
"No, I was just thinking maybe we could postpone adopting a child. We don’t need to rush..." replied Julian, immediately looking away.
Knowing that something was wrong with him, Arcane held his chin and pulled Julian to look at him.
"Tell me. Don’t keep it to yourself. You married me and I am your husband. You have to talk to me about whatever problems you have right now. Now talk, what’s bothering you right now?" he asked again, more firmly this time.
In the end, Julian shared his concerns. He just didn’t want to burden Arcane with his current problems. Just because he wanted a child and they had to adopt one, Arcane would have to bear the considerable costs.
"You’ll have to spend a lot of money, and your salary might not be enough to cover everything. I feel useless because I don’t have a job," he replied.
Arcane sighed when he heard his reason. What Julian said was true. They needed a lot of money to raise a child. Moreover, the adoption costs were also very high.
Meanwhile, his salary as a teacher wasn’t that much. Maybe it would be enough to cover their monthly expenses. However, they also had to save for future school fees.
But he couldn’t stand seeing Julian feel that way. So he reached out and held his hand.
"Hey, listen to me. Who said you’re useless, huh? Yourself?" He tapped Julian’s forehead twice, making the man wince in pain.
"I don’t like it when you talk about yourself like that. To me, you’re not like that. Your presence is very important to my life, even to my own self improvement, because when you weren’t in my life, I felt so lonely. But now I have you," he continued.
Before Julian could respond, Arcane silenced him with a kiss. He kissed his husband and bit his lower lip as punishment for saying something he considered so foolish.
"You don’t need to worry about that. I’ll try to find additional income for us. Besides, this house will be paid off soon, which means I can support both of us and the child we might adopt later. Do you understand?"
Julian nodded, understanding his words, and smiled. Although there was still a feeling of doubt within him because he didn’t want to burden the man, he couldn’t say it because he didn’t want to make Arcane angry with him.
"I understand. I’ll also try to find a way to help you! And I hope you won’t stop me from doing it!"
Arcane smiled back when he saw the smile return to his face. He nodded and cupped Julian’s cheeks, then pressed their foreheads together.
"All right, I won’t stop you, but don’t push yourself. It’s my responsibility to do this. All because I love you."
