"My god-! Soon, I will return to your side and worship you all the time. You are the only one for me, and I shall dedicate my everything to you."

Lady Elysia bowed in front of the altar she had created for her god, lowering herself in reverence. She waited for an answer to come to her prayers, but nothing happened.

Just as she was about to get up and leave, she felt a sudden disturbance and looked at her altar. It had cracked right down the middle, and the divine aura it once carried could no longer be felt.

"N-No-! W-What happened-! My lord...oh no-!"

Panic seized her as she stared at the destroyed altar. She tried to put it back together, but it was of no use. The more she tried, the more it crumbled.

"N-No way-! M-My god-! W-What happened to him...? What do...I do...?"

She questioned as she felt her whole world shifting and crashing around her.

The only reason she had been able to get this far was because she had been relying on her god for sanity. But now that she had lost him...what else was she even left with?

Just as she felt that all hope was lost, she heard that familiar whisper in the back of her mind.

[My dear...offer it...to me...A body...] 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

The voice told her, and Lady Elysia calmed down her panic a little.

"M-My god-! You are not gone...which body do you want? I will offer it all. Do you want my body?"

She asked in a desperate voice. But the answer was the same uncertain one.

[That body...is mine...Give it...back...]

The voice told her before it faded without giving her a proper answer.

And yet, Elysia had a feeling she understood what the owner of that voice meant for her to do and which ’body’ he wanted her to offer.

"D-Don’t worry, my lord. I will offer it all to you."

Lady Elysia promised as she stood up. Her eyes were blank but determined to see things through.

She pulled out a small pendant that she always wore and opened it. It held white power inside, and Lady Elysia lovingly caressed it.

"My dear, it’s finally time. Let’s show this world our determination. Our lord has finally given me a mission, and I will see it through to the end."

Lady Elysia was going to offer her lord the healthy body he wanted. She was going to offer him Emperor Kaiden’s body.

But first, she needed to weaken him a lot more so that he could be taken over.

So she decided to use poison to weaken the Emperor, and she baked sweets to sweeten the deal.

Even if the Emperor did not want to eat them, there were always ways to trick him. So she was not worried about getting them to him.

She baked them all and went to the Emperor’s office to leave them...only to find that Emperor Kaiden was not in the imperial palace, and no one knew when he would be back.

That sent her into another panic since she did not have time.

Prince Caelis looked at Elysia like she was a worm he wanted to crush. It was a look that should have annoyed her, but she felt far too giddy to care. And there was only one reason behind this.

’If Emperor Kaiden will not do, then Prince Caelis will have to. Besides, his body is still young. He would make the perfect vessel for my god.’

There was only one thing to mourn here—Prince Caelis’s age. He was far too young to be with Lady Elysia, but she could wait for him to physically grow up...

’Or maybe my lord can age himself up for me once he has taken control of this body...’

She cried out, and the guard felt sorry for her. But even if he wanted to help her, he knew that it was not the right thing to do for his future.

So he tried to be as gentle with her as possible. And that turned out to be a mistake.

Lady Elysia broke free from his grip and instantly headed for Prince Caelis. Before anyone could stop her, she had reached him, and her eyes were blazing.

Lady Elysia had a lot of tricks up her sleeve, and that included a dangerous talisman as well. She currently held one that would make Caelis suffer.

The crown prince noticed this and pulled Rin behind himself for safety.

Her arm was grabbed at the last second, and she lost her balance. The talisman fell as a result, and someone slammed into her from the other side.

"W-What are you doing? Let me go-! I said...let me go...."

She cried out as she watched Shuu rush over to the children and pull them into his arms. He looked worried, but seeing him only made Lady Elysia’s temper worsen.

"You-! It’s all your fault. I will not let you go. I promise I will have the last laugh-"

Lady Elysia promised before the guard caught her arm and clasped a hand over her mouth.

"Mufff-"

Lady Elysia had a lot of complaints. Unfortunately for her, none of them made it past the guards. But her presence made the guards feel awkward as well, not knowing what to do about her.

She might have attacked Shuu, but she was still a companion chosen by the goddess. That made the situation far more complicated to handle.
