[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 200: Ch : Wedding Preperations
Princess Canarie looked crushed at the news, but soon, her eyes lit up and hardened. The mark on the back of her hand glowed with power, and she had a determined look on her face.
"I see. That makes sense. So, I was cursed after all. Duke Inferno, please help me. I do not want revenge, but I would like to free Emperor Kaiden from the curse he is likely under as well. It is my duty as his chosen one to do so."
Lady Canarie had officially lost her mind, and she was drawing conclusions by herself.
This was what Duke Inferno wanted from her. But he was surprised at how easy it all was up till this point.
He had actually thought that it would have been harder to get Lady Canarie to agree with his terms and see his way.
"Are you sure about this? You might make an enemy out of Emperor Kaiden if you decide to take action now."
The Duke asked her once more, but Lady Canarie gave him an annoyed glance at his repeated questions. Her eyes shone with conviction, and she looked ready to take action.
"I am fine. In fact, I am more than fine, so you don’t need to worry about me. All you need to do is make sure I have an opportunity to see Emperor Kaiden and his companion. I will handle the rest of the work."
Lady Canarie sounded determined, so Duke Inferno decided to trust her words.
"Alright, miss. If you are sure about this, then I will do everything in my power to help you out as well. For now, how about getting engaged to my stupid son? You can use him to pretend that you have changed, and we can get you closer to your target that way."
Duke Inferno proposed, and he watched as Lady Canarie showed an uncomfortable expression before it changed and she nodded.
"I understand. I will take your offered hand. Just tell me what I need to do next."
Duke Inferno gave her a gentle smile, but he was beaming with suppressed laughter on the inside.
’It is so easy to make this gullible child fall. Ah, I do feel sorry for her though. But I guess this is the price she has to pay in order to become my tool.’

The preparations for the royal wedding were in full swing. Everyone was busy looking after one thing or another...except Shuu.
He and the kids were the only ones no one wanted anything to do with. But that made Shuu feel lonely in the lively castle.
Currently, he sat at the outside table and watched as servants carried bags upon bags of goods to be used. They glanced at him once before deciding that they did not want to engage with him and turned their heads away.
The lack of something to do and such blatant disregard for his presence made Shuu feel like he was going mad. But he was able to suppress himself for now and quietly sat down and observed what was happening around him.
’It feels...so lonely. There are so many people, and yet I-’ 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"Shuu, play-!"
Caelis had a worried look on his face as he walked over to Shuu and handed him the ball once more. But instead of feeling relieved, Shuu felt a little emptier inside.
The voice in the back of his head had not talked to him much today, but its ever-present presence was spreading inside Shuu quickly and effortlessly.
"I...Sure, I will play. What do you want to play?"
He finally asked as he took the ball and waited for Caelis or Rin to tell him what to do. But the two gave him a worried look, which made Shuu reach for his face to check if something was wrong.
Their eyes followed the way his hand touched his face and eyes, and Shuu finally decided to ask the kids what they were looking so intently at.
"Is something wrong with you two? Why are you looking at my face like that? Did I do something?"
Shuu asked in a worried voice. Finally, Caelis decided to ask him the question that the kid was holding back.
"Shuu, your complexion looks white. Are you sick?"
He did feel sick, but Shuu could not actually tell the kids that he was sick. After all, this was too near the wedding for him to feel sick and cause trouble.
Moreover, his situation was not that bad as well. He was just coming down with a flu or something, and as long as he was careful, it would not develop into something more.
"I am not sick, but I am a little tired these days since I am going to bed late. On that note, should we go to bed early today?"
Shuu asked, and the kids groaned. They did not want to go to bed early, but Shuu’s complexion made them worry for him as well.
"Fine-! We will go to bed early! But only because you look tired. Rin, let’s go."
Caelis grabbed Rin’s hand and pulled him behind. Rin looked worried and looked back at Shuu, followed by Caelis. Both kids were worried now, and Shuu felt sorry.
’Ah, I will need to pay more attention to my complexion from now on. I wonder if there is a powder around that can make me look normal.’
Shuu eventually did find the powder, and he even used it. But he was only able to fool the kids (if that). Kaiden looked much less impressed when they met later that evening, and just as Shuu feared, the Emperor did try to cancel the whole engagement.
It took too much time and effort for Shuu to eventually make the Emperor agree to keep the arrangements on track. He was tired afterward, but he felt accomplished.
The month passed like this. It was calm yet chaotic everywhere. And then it came time for the actual wedding, and important guests started to show up at the wedding hall one after another.
