Chapter 431: Keep poking the bear, Cass

Shopping after that was relatively easy. Sure, Edgar was very jumpy around him, but that was fine. Cass did play into it a bit, scaring the living shit out of him a few times and laughing when Edgar looked angry and upset.

Cass apologised of course, and even suggested maybe he could make it up to Edgar by showing him a little bit of ankle or wrist as well. Edgar did not like that joke, his whole face going bright red at the suggestion. It only made Cass grin like a fool.

It was cute that Edgar was getting so worked up and trying to be respectful. It was so unlike him that Cass couldn’t help but tease the man who was known as a play boy. Maybe a little too much.

Edgar did begin to calm down slightly when Cass began looking for something for Lucian and also Gideon. There was a small, small part of Cass that just wanted to get the man white clothing, you know, like a saint or priest was supposed to wear, but knew that wouldn’t go over well.

He was too damn pale, like the fucking rest of them besides Lucian, to be able to pull it off well. Maybe...cream? No, that wouldn’t work. He’d have to go grey, but then the demon blood and dirt would get it dirty too quickly. But, Cass had cleaning powers.

This thought bothered Cass for far too long, and when Edgar finally asked what was wrong and Cass told him, the look that Edgar had given him was a confusing one.

Confusion, of course, mixed with horror, relief and...jealousy? That was an odd thing to see in Edgar’s gaze, and it was gone rather quickly. Cass also hadn’t seen that emotion from the guys that much. Well, he hadn’t seen it for a while until Gideon came to the mansion. After he had, Lucian had been grumbly and irate. Edgar had been fine, but now?

What was he jealous for? Cass was Gideon’s owner and whether he liked it or not, he’d declared as much in front of a group of gossips. He had to treat his people well. It was his obligation, especially since Gideon’s life was getting messed up because of what the gods were doing to him and Cass.

Was it...wait, was it because Edgar still had feelings for Gideon? Was he jealous because Cass was buying him clothes and Edgar couldn’t? That was an emotional whiplash that Cass wasn’t prepared for.

Cass didn’t really care if Edgar still had feelings for Gideon. Hell, Cass had encouraged Gideon to pursue his feelings recently. It was just...interesting to see the results of it so soon when Cass was very certain that Gideon didn’t have time to do anything to or towards Edgar since he’d been chased out the night prior, and then he’d been with him before the gods made him a Saint.

Cass had also never dealt with this before. He’d never been...involved with anyone like this before? Cass wasn’t quite sure what to call whatever the fuck was going on between the group of men besides messy. It was fucking messy, but Lucian and Edgar seemed happy with it, up until recently. Cass knew that they were going to have to talk about this. Talk about what was going on, especially if Lucian was going to be leaving for a short while.

Cass didn’t like how his chest tightened at the thought of that. It even made him frown outside of his internal feelings. Edgar even asked if Cass was okay while Cass was looking through billowy, colourful shirts that dwarfed him. They were for the man he was thinking about, of course, and it made something weird and strange in Cass’ chest ache.

Cass told Edgar he was okay, and he did mean it, but that added to Edgar’s worries. Cass could feel how the man was watching him, concerned as he was fitted for clothes. Cass was allowed in the fitting rooms given he was a man, and also that he was the one paying for everything.

He could feel how the staff in each store they went to stared at him, and at Edgar. He could see the rumours building, and he didn’t think it was made better when he ordered an outfit at each location from the ready-made outfits for Gideon and Lucian. Cass didn’t care though. He would have bought an outfit for Byron too if he wasn’t so damn shy.

He did get vocal when Cass suggested getting clothing for Sam and the man even had opinions on outfits for him, a sparkle in his black eyes. Even Edgar thought it was cute, casting a look at Cass to see if he thought the same. Cass was grinning, pleased.

He was glad that he hadn’t fucked up their relationship with his own trauma and greed. That would have haunted him forever. If the two decided to bond like that, it shouldn’t be any of Cass’ concern. Really, it shouldn’t. Cass was still upset with himself that he’d considered and voiced using that kind of thing against them.

It twisted in Cass’ chest, his breathing shaky for a moment before he hardened himself and turned back to their shopping moment.

Cass did not stop teasing Edgar even while he was going through his own emotional ups and downs. Edgar was flustered and flushed, annoyed with Cass and his casual way that he would glide his hand along Edgar’s back when he knew no one else was watching. The little squeaks that Edgar would make, the flustered, angry looks that Edgar would shoot towards Cass made his own smile infectious. That seemed to bother Edgar more. It was like the reaction that Cass had to teasing Edgar made it hard for him to tell Cass to fuck off.

Cass found that even more amusing and was unable to stop teasing him because of it. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

It all came to a head at their last shop. Cass honestly, did take it too far. That was on him. He was getting cocky, and that made Edgar snap.

Edgar had been looking at a rack of ready-made clothing. While this was the last shop, it also appeared to be the shop that Edgar was the most pleased with, and it was a store that Cass had pointed out while they were driving by.

That meant he was rather focused on what he was doing, inspecting the clothes that were in his size that would need minimal tailoring to fit his body. They weren’t quite alone, but mostly so. Byron was outside the door since there was only one way in and out of the room, and there was one attendant in the room. She was busy flipping through a catalog of outfits that their shop was capable of making, muttering to herself while making notes. It was clear she was picking out things she thought would look good on Edgar.

Edgar was doing the same, and Cass? Well, he was thinking of ways to get one up on Edgar. His first step was to make it look like he was helping Edgar. He watched as Edgar tensed, clearly preparing himself for Cass to do something, but slowly, he relaxed. Then, Cass striked.

He slid up around Edgar, rubbing his body against Edgar’s from behind, his hands sliding down Edgar’s sides. It was sexual harassment. Somewhere in Cass’ mind, he knew that, but the way that Edgar gasped, his body stiffening completely at Cass’ touch was so thrilling that he couldn’t stop himself. Especially as his hands slid down his thighs, sliding inward to tease the man even more.

He didn’t end up touching his private parts, just teasing him as he slid his hands up and close, but then faded away as he heard the woman behind him shift. Cass slipped away, chuckling as he went to sit down on the loveseat in the middle of the room.

He was halfway to sitting down, a proud smirk on his face when he heard Edgar speak up in a tight voice.

"May we have a moment of privacy?" He asked, his voice sharp and Cass felt his eyes widen. What was going on? The woman got up immediately.

"Of course, my Lord. Feel free to call for me when you are ready." She was scurrying out of the room quickly, Cass watching her in surprise. He had only just sat down, his ass barely on a cushion when Edgar hit him.

The man wasn’t violent, but Cass hadn’t been anticipating him. He wasn’t expecting the feverish look in the man’s glowing blue eyes as he grabbed Cass by the collar of his shirt, yanking him up. Cass swore he heard a button snap off as Edgar pulled Cass close.

"That was too damn far." Edgar whispered, his expression fierce, his face red. He looked flushed and angry. Cass winced. Oops, maybe he had gone a little too far. Cass raised his hands, about to try to placate the other man when suddenly, he was flung.

Cass wheezed as his back hit the loveseat cushions, bouncing as he tried to catch his breath. Edgar didn’t give him a second, his eyes fierce and determined.

"You’ve made your bed, I hope you are ready to lie in it." He warned as Cass’ eyes went wide. He had no idea what the man meant until Edgar crawled on top of him, his knees cradling Cass’ hips on the small couch. Cass sucked in breath after breath as Edgar’s eyes narrowed and he licked his lips. "You’ve been taking advantage of my feelings all. Damn. Day. I’m done. I won’t be made a fool of any longer." He growled. Cass gulped.

"Edgar, can’t we uh, negotiate?" Cass asked, worried about what Edgar had in mind. Edgar’s blue eyes flashed as he leaned forward, his fingers reaching. His hand sunk into Cass’ hair, twirling until his fingers were caught in his white locks.

"No." Edgar warned before his lips came crashing down on Cass’. His other hand slid up Cass’ body before resting on his throat. It was an intimate hold, his grip firm, but not painful. His fingers stroked Cass’ throat as Edgar devoured Cass’ mouth. Cass was now helpless below the other man, his hands useless, unsure what to do. Cass was at the mercy of a man he had been teasing all day, and he had way more experience then Cass when it came to moments like these.

Cass’ soft whimper at one point was a clear example of this.

Edgar pulled Cass’ bottom lip into his mouth, enjoying every little shiver of Cass’ body under him. His eyes were predator bright, his lips plush and warm, and Cass could feel how his body was responding to the touch.

"We are in a shop." Cass protested, but even his own words sounded unconvincing to his own ears. Edgar’s smirk was prideful, a man who had resisted for long enough and finally was taking what he was owed.

"You started this. It is only fair that I get to decide where we end it." Edgar warned and Cass frowned. It was more fair to say that he was pouting, but Cass didn’t pout. Edgar shifted on top of Cass, sinking his body weight more onto his body and Cass heard how the loveseat creaked. His eyes widened.

"People are going to know what we are doing!" Cass hissed and Edgar swallowed his lips, kissing him senseless until Cass’ toes curled in his shoes. He was a little dazed when Edgar pulled away for a second time, pulling Cass’ head back with his grip in his hair to kiss his chin and throat.

Cass shivered, his whole body shaking as Edgar gently bit down with his normal teeth. Cass had a sudden understanding of why Edgar had been so upset his throat was visible.

He had a pissed off, turned on vampire at his throat.

Cass needed to be very, very careful right now.
