Black Online-Chapter 152: The Mirror of Truth
[MoTak: Secret Event, oh my god!]
[EnergeticChild: This is amazing! Secret Events happen so randomly that most players never come across them. Della is so lucky!]
The chat was very excited, and Fang Raon was just reading the chat to know more about this Secret Event.
’By the sound of it, it looks like Secret Events can happen everywhere, and they are also a very rare thing.’
Fang Raon thought.
In that moment, he noticed the viewer count climbing rapidly as if the word had already started spreading about the Secret Event.

It was just rising and rising.
"Yes, I am the detective. What are we looking at?"
Della asked with a smile.
She was only wishing that she would have a detective hat, and that tan trench coat, which detectives always wore.
As soon as she wished that, a brimmed hat appeared on her head. It was pulled low to hide her eyes.
A tan trench coat, which was open, draped over her, and she was also wearing the classic detective dark suit with a vest underneath.
"Oh!"
Della looked at herself with a smile.
"..."
The maid looked at her while blinking absentmindedly.
"Maid?"
Della looked at her with a raised eyebrow as she wasn’t answering her for some odd reason.
"I apologize for my delayed reaction... I didn’t expect the detective to be a woman. It is not a common profession for a woman."
The maid said.
She didn’t include the fact that Della was also incredibly cute and very young—someone like her shouldn’t be a detective and instead should be doing something more traditionally feminine.
"Will that be a problem?"
Della put her hands on her hips and asked.
"Of course not. The deal is this: the master of the mansion was murdered last night. A knife to the heart while he was sleeping on his bed. I found him lying in a pool of blood when I went to deliver his morning tea."
The maid said.
She then turned around to look at the closed doors, and continued with:
"Yesterday, we had a birthday party to celebrate his 75th birthday. There were a lot of people present. The ones that stayed overnight are currently in the living room.
"One of them must’ve done the deed."
The maid said with a serious look.
"...That includes you."
Della tipped the low-brimmed hat as she looked at the maid, and she was stunned before nodding.
"Of course, I am also a suspect. I will also be there, and I will answer every question honestly."
The maid said.
"This is my assistant, Fang Raon. While I interrogate the suspects, why don’t you take him to your deceased master’s bedroom?"
Della asked.
The maid looked at Fang Raon, and nodded.
She didn’t see the camera. It was invisible for the locals. And it was only visible to the players.
The maid then walked to the doors, and opened them—the inside of the living room quieted down—the people inside turned to look at the door.
They didn’t seem happy to be stuck there, as none of them liked being a suspect in a murder case.
"Raon, try to find anything in the bedroom. I will talk to the suspects meanwhile."
Della said.
"Sure, I’ll leave the camera to you."
Fang Raon opened a command panel and changed it so that the camera would enter automatic mode.
It would therefore float behind Della.
He thought that the viewers would prefer to be watching her interrogate the suspects than watch him look around the bedroom.
"Shall we go?"
Fang Raon looked at the maid, and she nodded and started leading him up the stairs to the second floor.
Meanwhile, Della entered the living room and looked around at all the suspects—there were at least fifteen people here.
"Hello, everyone. My name is Detective Della Rose from the Rose Records Detective Agency. I hope all of you can answer a couple of questions, if that is alright."
She said.
"This is ludicrous!"
A bearded man, Marcus, slammed his hand on the armrest. He was well-suited. Looking like an aristocrat from the historical movies.
"I would’ve never killed my father. The fact that I am even being forced to stay here is a slap to my face!"
"That’s enough, brother. It doesn’t hurt to answer some questions. It’ll help Miss Detective to find the culprit."
The bearded man’s sister spoke. She was very soft-spoken. She was also quite lovely-looking with a motherly vibe around her.
She was Rosalind Blackwood.
"I’ll start with you then..."
Della looked at Marcus with a smile and slowly approached him and stopped to stand in front of him.
"When did your father go to sleep?"
"...Tch. Around 10 at night, I guess. He usually goes to sleep first and wakes up last. Everyone else kept partying for another hour."
Marcus said.
"When did you go to sleep?"
Della asked.
"Midnight, I guess. I was pretty tired by then."
"Did you happen to hear anything? Did you go see your father after he went to sleep? And when did you wake up?"
Della asked.
"I didn’t hear anything, and no, why would I? I just went to sleep, and I woke up when everyone started making a ruckus.
"I quickly after that heard that my father was killed."
Marcus said.
"Okay~"
Della smiled, and she then summoned a grimoire—surprising everyone—and she summoned a light mirror.
"Magic?!"
The people in the living room were shocked.
She pointed the mirror at Marcus. It didn’t show his reflection for some odd reason. But that changed soon.
The face of Marcus appeared in the mirror, and it started shifting and distorting—the face of Marcus was soon making an evil expression.
"With this mirror, I can see the truth of a person. It shows that you are an evil-hearted individual."
Della said.
It only worked towards locals. She couldn’t sadly use it on players. But in this scenario, it was very useful.
"S-s-so, that doesn’t mean anything. That doesn’t prove that I would’ve killed my father. Call me evil or whatever, but I would never kill my father!"
Marcus screamed.
"Of course, it doesn’t prove anything. You can be evil but still love your family too much to do anything to them. I agree."
Della said with a chuckle.
She then put the mirror on the table and sat down with her legs crossed.
"I want everyone to stand up and go look in the mirror. Before we start the actual interrogation, I want to know what kind of person you are."
