Black Online-Chapter 200: Tears of Loss
Bunny’s soldiers had already started taking their places in the village.
Her two Mages were waiting down on the street. Her Ranger was standing on a roof. They were waiting for Fang Raon’s soldiers to arrive.
Shortly afterwards, they heard the sound of footsteps approaching.
’She is waiting...’
Fang Raon thought as he saw Bunny’s soldiers just blocking the path in the street.
He didn’t think that she was going to be so bold as to openly challenge him and knew that there must be something else to her plan.
"Shall we have a duel, Raon? I like duels. I am especially big fan of the old Wild West movies where they duel to the death.
"Should we see whose Mage is faster, hmm? What about it, Raon? Why aren’t you saying anything? You have a mouth, so use it!"
Bunny yapped loudly and quickly.
She was again trying to distract Fang Raon, but he wasn’t falling for it, and he completely ignored her.
All of her words entered through one ear and exited from the other.
"Fireball!"
Fang Raon’s Mage opened his grimoire, and a flaming ball shot out from one of the crimson pages.
The fireball hurled through the air, bringing scorching heat with it.
"Earth Wall!"
In that moment, one of Bunny’s Mages cast Earth Wall, and it blocked the fireball that suddenly exploded upon impact.
"Earth Wall! Earth Wall!"
That wasn’t all.
Bunny’s Mage kept casting more Earth Walls, and in that moment, walls of earth appeared behind Fang Raon’s soldiers.
It completely blocked their path where they originally came from, and thus, they couldn’t go anywhere except towards Bunny’s soldiers or to one of the few side alleys.
’She is trying to trap me as I expected.’
Fang Raon thought.
He then gave an order to his soldiers, and they ran off to one of the side alleyways.
The alleyway led to another street, but before they could cross it, the ground suddenly shook as another earth wall rose.
The Earth Wall blocked them.
"Earth Wall!"
Bunny’s voice rang throughout the world of the holographic battlefield, and another Earth Wall appeared behind them.
They were completely stuck inside the alleyway, both sides blocked.
"Hehe, I got you~"
Bunny winked.
In that moment, her Ranger jumped towards the nearby rooftops and from there was able to see the three soldiers trapped inside the alleyway.
Like mice being cornered by a cat.
"Arrow Rain!"
Bunny gave the order.
The Ranger pulled back her bowstring.
"Super Jump!"
At that moment.
Fang Raon’s Warrior jumped—it was such a strong jump that the pavement cracked beneath his feet.
Warrior soared through the air, and it happened to land right on the same rooftop where Ranger was.
At that moment, Ranger let go of its arrow, and his "Arrow Rain" skill was unleashed with dozens of arrows spearing through the air.
With the shield and sword in hand, the Warrior smashed through the swarm of arrows, slowly making his way towards the Ranger.
’He chose the Super Jump skill?’
Bunny’s eyes turned serious.
It was one of the few skills that could counter her trap, which she thought was extremely unlucky for the Warrior to have chosen.
’Could it be... that he expected me to try to trap him somehow? No, that can’t be. It is not like he can see the future.’
Bunny convinced herself.
Because of the Warrior, none of the arrows made it towards the alleyway, where two other Fang Raon’s soldiers were at.
Warrior finished destroying the arrows, and he attacked Ranger right away, who tried to keep his distance.
In close quarters, Warrior was much more superior to Ranger, and Bunny knew that.
She wanted to distance Ranger from Warrior, but because of the Super Jump, Warrior always caught back to him!
"What music do you like, Raon? I like some pop songs, but lately I’ve gotten into some indie rock bands. What do you like? Tell me.
"Hello, Raon? Why aren’t you saying anything? That is very rude, y’know, to not answer questions from a cute girl like me."
Bunny talked constantly.
She was trying to distract Fang Raon so that her Ranger could run away, but he was completely ignoring her.
It was usually hard to ignore someone who was constantly talking, and most of her opponents have failed to do so.
However.
Fang Raon was perfectly ignoring her.
’If that’s the case...’
A corner of Bunny’s mouth quirked up in a slight smile, and she then moved her leg underneath the table.
She removed her shoes and then touched Fang Raon’s knee with her foot and slowly moved it up his thigh.
’She really is trying to do everything to distract me.’
Fang Raon felt pissed off, and he then slapped her foot away, and Bunny looked surprised for a moment.
’It is forbidden to touch your opponent during the match, but because she is touching me from under the table, the referee can’t see.’
Fang Raon thought with a frown on his face.
He started to understand why Bunny’s opponent before was so angry at her. It was because she was using really underhanded methods to win.
"Fireball!"
His Mage blasted his Fireball through one of the Earth Walls, and destroyed it.
Therefore, his two soldiers—the Mage and Assassin using the Faceless skill—managed to escape the alleyway.
’Keep pressing!’
Fang Raon ordered his Warrior.
His Warrior kept chasing after Ranger, who was jumping from roof to roof.
"Super Jump!"
In that moment, his Warrior jumped after the Ranger, and caught up to him—the Ranger turned around and fired a couple arrows.
The Warrior smashed his shield through the arrows and then swung his sword, which grazed the Ranger’s shoulder.
"Fireball!"
Bunny, with sweat trickling down her face, ordered another one of her Mages to use the Fireball skill to assist the Ranger.
The Fireball hurled through the air, and it was coming straight for Warrior, but he saw it coming and deflected it with his shield.
Meanwhile, Fang Raon’s Mage and Assassin did a little detour, and they arrived at Bunny’s tower—which was unguarded.
’He went for my tower?!’
Bunny looked shocked, and she quickly commanded her Mages to go there to defend it, and when her soldiers arrived there, they found the Mage and Assassin attacking it.
"Fireball!"
Bunny’s Mage cast a Fireball, and it flew through the air.
But then, Fang Raon’s Mage also cast the same skill—Fireball—and the two balls of flame collided in the air.
They exploded in a burst of fiery light, sending sparks and embers flying in all directions.
’It is two Mages versus two Mages. I can do this!’
Bunny thought.
However.
In that moment, one of the ’Mages’ jumped through the smoke cloud, and instead of using a grimoire, he pulled a dagger.
At that moment, the Assassin’s Faceless skill wore off, and he turned back to his Assassin self.
’Wait, one of his Mages was an Assassin all this time?!’
Bunny looked frightened.
This was the worst possible news because Assassin had amazing combat power from close range.
"Earth Wall!"
One of the Mages cast an Earth Wall to block off the Assassin, but with his innate agility ability, the Assassin just jumped over it.
And with the daggers in hand, he sliced through the Mages, and they screamed in pain before disappearing.
[Mage has been killed!]
[Mage has been killed!]
"I-Impossible..."
Bunny whispered.
And since she was so shocked that her Mages died, she lost her concentration and forgot to control her Ranger.
Thus...
Fang Raon’s Warrior was able to land a fatal blow on the Ranger, defeating Bunny’s entire team.
[Ranger has been killed!]
[Winner—Fang Raon!]
’She is not that skilled when it comes to controlling the soldiers. She has a decent brain for planning, but when her plan doesn’t work, she struggles to adapt and recover.
’She usually wins with trickery and distracting her opponents.’
Fang Raon thought.
"Sob... sob... sob..."
At that moment, Bunny started tearing up, and tears started falling down her cheeks. It was a really heart-breaking scene.
Some spectators threw nasty looks at Fang Raon as he made her cry, but honestly, he didn’t care at all.
He just stared at Bunny with a nonchalant expression.
’She talked about sore losers... But she is very much one.’
Fang Raon thought.
"Sister!"
In that moment, Sunny ran over after seeing her twin sister cry, and she hugged her right away while Bunny cried in her arms.
"I lost... I lost..."
Bunny hugged her sister and wept loudly.
"It’s alright, Bunny..."
Sunny whispered soothingly in her ear and patted her head, and then she looked angrily at Fang Raon.
With her blood boiling, she looked like she wanted to rip Fang Raon apart and swore that she would never let him get away with what he did.
"There you go."
At that moment, the referee came to Fang Raon, gave him the paper, and walked off once again.
"Good match..."
Fang Raon whispered and walked away, but he could still feel Sunny’s gaze on him, as if she were trying to bore a hole through his back with her eyes.
"You won."
In that moment, he met Rock, who was enjoying a cigarette after also finishing his match.
"Yep. And you?"
Fang Raon asked.
"I won too."
Rock said.
With this, they’ve both made it through the round of 32 and thus reached the round of 16—meaning they had reached the top 16 in the tournament.
’I’ve already gotten far, but now that I’ve gotten this far... I am not satisfied, and I want to go further.’
Fang Raon thought.
