Blessed by Night-Chapter 392: Expanded Family
The entire Saint family appeared in their living room mere minutes after Malachi received a mystery text on his phone that got even Joanne up in arms.
"New place looks nice. You should've invited us over for the housewarming."
Malachi felt his heart get caught in his throat.
Sitting on his sofa in plain view were two women who were undeniable pillars in his life.
Aisha and Aubrey's beautiful faces were illuminated only by the soft glow of the only lamp in the room.
Both looked no different from normal. But for some reason, it was only just now hitting Malachi just how much they had all matured.
It was probably a revelation that he should have come to far quicker.
And it definitely shouldn't have taken until he saw them sitting on his sofa with two children in their arms.
""Aunties!!""
Camille and Shiro bolted towards the sofa as soon as Malachi put them down.
His feet were still like blocks of lead. He couldn't make it over to them, no matter how badly he wanted to.
Aisha smiled like the cool aunt she had grown into.
She leaned over slightly so that the girls could see the small bundle of swaddled joy in her arms.
"Your auntie and I brought some new faces we'd like you guys to meet... You wanna say hello?"
With Aisha leaning over to allow the rest of the room a better peek, Camille and Shiro, and especially their parents, could see a bona fide miracle baby.
His eyes were a very unique combination of red, green, violet, and a deathly black.
He had a chunky figure paired with sublime, golden-colored skin and scales. The beginnings of two very small black horns could be seen sitting on the top of his head.
The child's navel bore a swirling tattoo-like pattern that was way too detailed to be considered any ordinary birthmark.
"This little guy is Askari..."
Aubrey unwrapped the child she was holding and revealed that the two were completely identical.
"And this is his brother Reken." She introduced.
Camille shuffled back and forth and let out happy squeals as she shifted her weight back and forth on two feet. "C-Can I hold one..?"
"Which one, tiny?"
"Either one!"
"Hahaha! Okay, okay!"
Aisha pulled Camille into her lap and showed her the proper way to hold onto a newborn child.
"We missed the birth..?"
Malachi had spent the past several minutes looking for something to say, and that was unfortunately all that had slipped out.
Aubrey wasn't surprised by her brother's reaction at all. She knew exactly why his heart was wracked with anguish.

In over twenty years of life, Malachi and Aubrey had been nearly inseparable through every moment.
Losing their parents had brought them closer than they had ever believed that they would be. Through bad times and even worse times, they had held onto each other.
Malachi went missing before Camille was born and missed her birth as a result. Everyone knew just how much that had hurt him, but possibly none more so than Aubrey.
The past couple of months, Mal had been telling her how much he was looking forward to being there for his sister in the same way that he wished he could've been there for Camille.
But fate had reared her cruel face in their lives for a second time. And he had missed a truly pivotal moment in her life.
"It wasn't exactly like we were expecting." Aubrey smiled at her brother bitterly. "You don't need to feel guilty."
"Babe's right." Aisha sighed. "One second we were sitting there playing a bit, the next thing we knew her stomach started glowing and she was holding a little gold dragon baby."
Sei, Celeste, Joanne, and Luna stared at Aubrey with gazes that didn't bother to hide their immense envy.
"Don't make a girl who just gave birth walk over to you." Aubrey clicked her teeth at him.
Suddenly, it was as if the lead holding down Malachi's feet had changed into helium.
Step by step, he carried himself over to his sister and dropped to his knees in front of her.
He didn't know which of them he wanted to embrace first. He just let his body act on it's own accord.
When he wrapped his arms around his sister, there was a brief moment where they both faltered.
Aubrey was the first to sniffle. Then she slowly began crying into her brother's shoulder.
Malachi held his sister even tighter without saying a word.
He knew everything that she wanted to say already.
Malachi finally released her and allowed her to wipe her own face.
Finally, he turned his gaze toward the golden little boy in her lap.
Raising his hand, he gave the newborn child's cheek a small pinch.
"Hey there, little guy... I'm your uncle... I'm going to buy you so much alcohol when you turn 18."
"MALACHI!" The entire room yelled.
"Kidding, kidding... mostly."

It was late before Aisha and Aubrey left the house with Mal's new nephews in tow.
Try as he might've to get them to stay over, the girls refused his every offer and returned back home to the abyss.
However, Shiro and Camille were able to wring a promise out of them to return in the morning.
This was probably the first time in Malachi's life that he had been able to put the kids to sleep on their own without issue.
Though he wasn't sure about how well the two would actually be able to sleep, since when he left their bedroom they were both jittering like little they had batteries in their backs.
Malachi shut the door on the children and walked back downstairs to the living room.
There, his fiances were sitting out sprawled across the couch- still reeling from a night filled with moonshine and barbecued meat.
The girls had already showered, moisturized, and liberated themselves from their pants.
Bianca had turned on the original version of Dragon Ball and was slowly recharging her social battery. The rest looked like they were going to conk out at any minute.
"If y'all had to guess, how long d'you think you could stay up?" Mal asked as he leaned over the couch.
Immediately, he was met with a chorus of groans.
"Four minutes..." Celeste held up three fingers.
"Two.." Luna lay face down in Nadine's chest.
"I think I'm good for a couple of minutes, but I'd be better if you took your shirt off..." Anna yawned.
Malachi shook his head as he obliged.
"Yep. I'm up now."
Ordinarily, he would have at least chuckled at her jest, but this time Malachi held himself back.
"I wanted to ask… how do you girls feel about going overseas?"
