BLOOD MUTANT SYSTEM.-Chapter 432: CH: FIGHT FOR US.
"Well, I’ll be damned..."
A staring contest of sorts occurred between the Ethisian and Granian Blood Mutants.
Jim and Anya, under a crushing weight, stared at the orange-haired man and woman, both with awe and terror.
Seeing them made them feel eerily uncomfortable, but at the same time envious; envious at the obvious leagues of strength these two were in compared to them.
They hadn’t seen them in action yet, nor had they seen or experienced a bit of their strength, but they could already "sense" how much stronger they both were just by looking.
As for the Ethisian Blood Mutants, they felt conflicted, confused, disgusted, and disturbed.
Their conflict was aimed at their internal human instincts. They hadn’t seen more of their kind in many, many years, so seeing them made not know which emotions to process.
Should they have celebrated and been happy that there were now two more like them? Or should they have felt angry that the Granians went back to Earth and abducted their "replacements"?
This conflict brought about confusion, followed by many questions they couldn’t get answers to, not yet anyway. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Why? Why did the Granians return to Earth despite the several warnings the Intergalactic Council gave? Why did they have to bring more humans into a fight they had nothing to do with?
And with that confusion came disgust. The majority wasn’t aimed at the humans but at the Granians and the Ethisians. Why? Because now Jim and Anya had become their burden.
The two already knew why Enor brought Jim and Anya to them. He wanted the Granian Blood Mutants to be trained, mentored, or watched over by these two, and that was in complete violation of the promise made between them and Enor.
"Enor," the woman spoke with her eyes still fixated on the humans, "why have you brought them to us?"
"Better question," the man interrupted, his face showing his utmost disgust and disdain towards the whole situation, "why did the Council allow the Granians to do this? Didn’t they promise us protection of our people if my wife and I stepped down from the war for good?"
Enor sighed. Like the man and woman, he too was disappointed, agitated, and disgusted with the way the Council handled the Granians’ enrollment of new Blood Mutants.
"The Council has become a former shell of what it used to stand for," Enor sighed, "they make a lot of laws but do next to nothing to enforce them, especially when it comes to the Granians. But..."
A certain look grew on the Ethisian High Ruler’s scaly face, one that made everyone looking at him slightly uncomfortable.
"...if the Council’s not holding up their end of the promise, why should you do the same?"
With those words alone, Enor’s entourage slowly started to understand what had truly led him to approach the human again, despite several death promises that were made if he ever came close to them again.
He had no interest in having Jim and Anya "train under them" or "grow stronger with them" or even be "offered as a sacrifice or whatever other nonsense they had".
Instead, he brought them to their humans to show just how badly things had become because of the war. He wanted to show them how their promises were broken, how their sacrifices were for nothing, and how they were being disrespected by the very people who forced them to stand down without delivering justice to the species that abducted them.
"This isn’t our war," the man answered, and his female companion nodded in agreement, "we have nothing to do with and want no part of it at all."
"But you should..." Enor spoke back quickly and then rose to his feet. Scared, his High Grades did the same because they thought the Ethisian Humans would strike Enor down. Luckily, they didn’t...yet.
"...when you realized how you were being used to fight for the wrong side of a war you had nothing to do with, you saw how the Granians reacted. You saw how the Council stepped in to stop you two from escalating matters.
"You heard all the threats the Granians made and, at the time, you and I and everyone else thought the Granians were bluffing. But look, look at them..."
He began to speak loudly and passionately while pointing at Jim and Anya.
"...the Granians returned to your home planet, they abducted more of your kind, they experimented on them, stripped them of their humanity, and turned them into beings that thrive on bloodshed. Like you, these two will no longer be able to live normal lives; they’ll never return to your home planet, and even if they did, they’ll never live normal lives.
"The memories of war, the exposure to alien technology, planets, civilizations, and conflicts have robbed them of their peace, the same way it robbed you two. And even worse...if the Granians win this war, who’ll stop them from running back to Earth to get even more humans and turning them into their puppets?"
"They wouldn’t dare..."
"They just DID," he shouted, pointing at Jim and Anya, who were hard evidence, "open your eyes and look. Look at them. They’re being subjected to the same torture you two endured. They’re being subjected to a life your species was never made to handle. They’re being exposed to a world their minds were never built to interact with. You two are the only ones who know what that feels like, so I expect you to understand and think for yourself."
Enor remained silent, letting his words sink in before he gave his final pitch. As the man and woman looked at Jim and Anya, their real human emotions began to surface, and one was more evident than the others.
Vengeance.
They felt vengeful towards the Council, which promised protection for Earth and her people. They felt angry that the promises were broken and nothing was done to the ones who broke intergalactic law.
Most of all, though, they felt vengeful towards the Granians. Why? Because they involved more humans in a war that didn’t involve them. The man and woman felt the Granians were too weak and pathetic to fight the war themselves and felt the need to involve an inferior race to fight for them.
That thought alone made their blood boil. But was it enough to make the strongest Blood Mutants in the universe return to a war they didn’t want to participate in?
"If it helps," a slobber-drenched Jim spoke, adding more points to strengthen Enor’s cause, "the Granians have destroyed our home planet. The Earth you knew, the Earth you were taken from, is now as wild, viscous, and dangerous as every other planet in Akrina.
"Human anatomy has changed completely. Humans now have...special abilities, and it may sound like a good thing but...after hearing what Enor said, I believe the Granians will return to Earth and use those newly evolved humans as tools not just to win the war...but to conquer all of Akrina."
Jim didn’t know it yet, but most of what he said was partially true. Based on his short interaction with the Granians, it was most likely that they’d do that and more.
"Please, reconsider your position in this. If we don’t eradicate their race completely, who’ll stop them from going back to your planet and subjecting more of your kind to this life? We all know very well that it’s only us standing between them and the destruction of our galaxy and yours."
