Chapter 180: Trap 2

With the added pressure, he found it difficult to dodge their punches and kicks. Occasionally, their arms grazed his body, ripping his clothes and gouging his flesh.

Still, he survived, albeit only being a B-ranker against two A-rankers. It was an outstanding achievement.

As he dodged, he began to speak in a muffled voice.

"The two kids...who...left..early saw you... Don’t think...you can hide...it."

His voice broke off abruptly as a fist grazed his chest, causing him to wheeze in pain.

Close combat was really not his speciality. He could barely dodge them.

"They must have...already called...in the...police." He added with a sly smirk.

"Thunder...Gramps and...the police."

"You...Are...Fucked...no matter...your rank."

He taunted.

Suddenly, one of them stopped.

It was the shadow user. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"There will not be any evidence." He said bleakly.

The agility type continued to attack Oliver as they spoke.

"WHY?" Oliver asked, his gaze sharpened.

"Because I am going to capture them, now."

The shadow blended into darkness once again and dashed in the direction Oliver threw Victor and Stephen.

"Oh! Thank you for clarifying."

Oliver jumped back and said.

His smile widened.

Finally, they did something he appreciated.

’Armour, asshole, it’s time you come out.’ He said in his mind.

’You have kids to save.’

Oliver said instantly fed all the blood inside his blood sac to the coin.

Immediately, he glowed brighter.

This was the first time Oliver had attempted something like that.

Instantly, the 50,000 units of blood he had in his blood sac turned to golden mana, covering his body.

The temperamental armour came out and wrapped around him the moment it sensed someone else was in danger.

Oliver disliked this quirk of the armour. And yet, he was thrilled to see it take form.

Like a Golden Sun, he shone in the darkness.

For a moment, the duo froze.

His transformation was quick and abrupt, taking them by surprise.

"He he he he...Not let’s see if you can hide within the shadows."

Oliver lit up the building like a Christmas tree. The shadows around him reeled back to the cracks and crevices of the building.

Oliver walked towards his enemies.

With the armour, he could perfectly control all the mana he had and enhance his defence.

Now, he was in a league of his own.

He didn’t have to fear the punches and kicks of the enemy anymore.

While holding back their strength, they won’t be able to defeat him.

He smirked.

Taunting them to attack Stephen and Victor was a deliberate act.

"If you don’t kill me today, I will find and kill you. Think for a second who I am."

"I am the protege of Thunder Emperor. A generational talent that the world will worship."

"Give me a few more years and I will grow strong enough to wipe you off the planet."

Oliver took firm steps forward.

He had achieved what he wanted by directing his attention to the kids. Now, he wanted them to refocus their attention on him.

"If you let me live, you will live with existential dread for the rest of your life, guessing when I am going to kill you."

"Don’t you think that’s terrible? No peace of mind for the rest of your life."

Oliver inquired as he was joking.

However, he was not.

He meant each and every word he said. He was not going to let the duo that tried to kill him live for long.

The moment he finds the right opportunity, he will end them.

"Don’t, for a second, think that your boss, the potbellied baldy, can save you. I am coming for him, too."

"So, let’s see if you can kill me today."

Five golden tentacles sprouted from his back. The illusory armour shone brighter, taking on a distinct scaly pattern.

For a second, Oliver looked like an ethereal being, a god who had descended into the human world.

"At most, you have a minute. Let’s try your luck."

Oliver said and dashed towards them.

The shadowy figure dispersed his ability and became real.

The duo abandoned all thoughts of stealth and dashed to meet Oliver’s fist.

However, fists were not his only weapon.

Two tentacles latched onto the ground and acted like his limbs, pulling him sideways to evade their attack while allowing him to strike as intended.

Oliver’s spatial positioning was impeccable; he dodged and retaliated at the same time, taking them by surprise.

Simultaneously, the three remaining tentacles twisted around them, striking at their vulnerable points from their blind spot.

Even though the duo was A-rankers, they tried their best to hide their strength. So, they couldn’t use explosive moves.

They were limiting the max mana they could use.

On the other hand, Oliver used every ounce of his mana to reinforce his body.

While his aura remained that of B-ranker, the power he generated was multiple times higher.

As Oliver’s fist crashed on one of their body, the tentacles also attacked. Together, they distributed the amount of mana the enemy can use to defend into three points.

One behind the neck, one below his belt and the last one near his chest.

At the last second, before he struck with the tentacles, he dispersed two tentacles and focused mana instantly onto the last remaining one, striking the neck.

He wouldn’t have been able to do it normally. But with the armour in play, his control over the golden mana was beyond comprehension.

The swift move took the enemy by surprise.

Oliver was attacking the shadow user; he tried to change his body to incorporeal form.

However, the golden mana radiating light was like its natural enemy.

Before he could disappear into the shadows, the tentacle drilled into his neck and broke his spine.

"AHh!"

The shadow user was shocked.

"Uh?" Oliver was surprised.

The agile type superhuman was scared.

’That was too easy.’

Oliver squinted his eyes, not knowing what had just happened.

It should not have been that easy to kill an A-ranker.

Just their natural mana defence could defend against a life-threatening injury once.

So, why?
