Chapter 289: Btog 289 Birthday Livestream Part 3

“It was just a stamina test, but it was fun, right?”

“Yes! I’ve been keeping fit, so it was really nice to see you, Nana-nee-sama, in action after so long!”

With lively chatter filling the air, Rinne was going through a binder and record sheets she’d prepared just to make the occasion feel more official.

The remaining 50-meter dash and sit-ups concluded with fairly average scores.

– Nana clocked in 50 meters at 2.1 seconds and did 80 sit-ups.

– Touka finished in 6.2 seconds with 48 sit-ups.

– Suupa completed the dash in 10.2 seconds, managing just 7 sit-ups.

Nana’s results weren’t as high as expected, mostly because the 50-meter distance was too short for her to reach full speed. She could’ve done better in each event but wasn’t really putting her all into it. As for the sit-ups, no one could properly hold her down, making it physically challenging to do them without momentum. Eighty was what she managed with simple brute strength alone.

(Back in middle school, she needed proper equipment for accurate measurements. Considering we don’t have that here, these results aren’t too bad.)

The numbers showed improvement from their middle school days, albeit based on a less-than-rigorous comparison. As much as it is reassuring to see Nana’s continuous physical growth, whether it matters in this world is another story.

(And this one… well, she did his best.)

Compared to the effortless performances of the others, Suupa, who had very little experience with intense exercise, had collapsed on the mat prepared for sit-ups.

“I can’t go on anymore…”

“Good job, everyone. Suupa, you did quite well for your age and lack of experience. I’ve prepared some water, so drink up when you can stand.”

“Okay…”

After placing a few bottles of water beside Suupa, Rinne turned her gaze to Nana and the others.

“Do you two need any?”

“I’m not sweaty, so I’m good. How about you, Touka-chan?”

“Yes, I’ll take some.”

Touka caught the water bottle tossed her way and started sipping. Nana looked on, smiling. She only gets this cheerful when she’s in an exceptionally good mood.

“Did you have fun?”

“Yep! It’s important to stretch our wings in the real world, you know.”

Nana said, swinging her arms to emphasize her high spirits. Adorable, really.

That said, no matter how much one moves in virtual spaces, the physical body remains idle. It’s like a video game; mental satisfaction doesn’t equate to exercise. Nana, who has recently taken up internet surfing among other indoor activities, used to devote most of her time to physically demanding jobs.

She loves physical activities. She’s inherently outdoorsy. Rinne felt relieved to see Nana so upbeat, probably because it had been a long time since she’d gotten to move her body like this.

(The urge to fight strong opponents and the simple desire to exercise don’t necessarily have to compete for priority. Streaming has its own joys, but it’s different. Nana’s stress gauge isn’t visible, so it’s hard to manage.)

Nana had been enjoying her life as a streamer, and her previous experiences in WLO and BATTLER had fulfilled her desire to fight at full strength. But seeing her so pleased by real-world physical activity, Rinne couldn’t help but feel relieved.

Just because she was so engrossed in live streaming almost every day, Nana had missed many opportunities to exercise. This, in turn, was causing another type of stress to build up. Nana, who seldom showed her stress openly—or perhaps didn’t even recognize it as stress—had subtle changes that only her best friend Rinne could detect after watching her closely.

“From now on, let’s do some exercise-themed streams regularly. There’s no need to hide it like before.”

“It’s really liberating not to have to hide it, isn’t it?”

Nana responded, while hopping up and down about two meters in the air. Even though she was going easy, it seemed like she still had plenty of energy left. Nana had spent her life always holding back her true capabilities to fit in with others. But from now on, there was basically no need to do so. Of course, she still needed to read the room, but it was okay to show her exceptional physical abilities openly.

There were so many things that had become possible thanks to this change. For instance, she could go to a sports center for leisure without having to hide her abilities. Even a simple “just exercising” stream could now stand as a full-fledged “project,” allowing her to work out as part of her job.

(This way, I can take breaks to stretch my physical body in the real world while satisfying my fighting urges in WLO. An infinite loop for stress relief) Nana thought.

“Rin-nee-sama, I’ll go change,”

“I’ll, um, go too,”

Said Suppa as she and Touka headed to the changing room, presumably because they had sweated enough. Nana, however, seemed to have no need to change her clothes with the insignificant sweat she had.

“We’ve pretty much completed all the measurements and health checks. Should we take a break since it seems like a good stopping point?”

“That sounds good. More time has passed than I thought. Let’s take a short break.”

<Oh?>

<They’re taking a break?>

<It’s been about an hour and a half>

<When will you guys be back?>

<I got to see something good>

<Aww>

<I have to get back to work soon>

“The break will be about 30 minutes. I’ll end the stream for now. Make sure you’re subscribed to Nana’s channel for updates.”

“Next up is WLO! I’ll be showing off my new equipment that I got in the last stream, and it’s Suu-chan’s first time playing.”

“We’ll also do some casual chatting and answer some questions. Just like a typical Nana stream, but with a little extra.”

<I see>

<New equipment!>

<This reminds me of V’s new costume reveal> {no idea who is V, that’s just foreshadowing in raw}

<I’m excited>

<What about Touka-chan?>

<Can’t wait??>

<That’s awesome>

“Touka will be joining us too. With Nana’s growing popularity, I’m sure some of her acquaintances will show up. Interacting with the current Nana is a form of advertising in itself.”

“So, like a living billboard?”

<Crab dance>

<Well, she does draw attention>

<Good to hear Touka-chan will be there>

<I keep seeing Nana’s name everywhere>

<I laughed when the women’s fighting scene was the first to close its doors to her>

<↑Well, nobody wants to die>

<The listener count increased by 300,000 during the fitness test but has already dropped by 100,000 :O>

As the listeners point out, Nana is a hot topic all over the world. Any new information about her gets people talking, as does proof of her inhuman capabilities. Whether she’s an extraterrestrial or a new type of human created by the Takamaki family, speculation is rampant. This high level of attention also makes her valuable for advertising, which is why influencers from around the world are eager to collaborate with her.

“Anyway, we shouldn’t linger here and risk Touka and Suupa cooling down, so let’s end the stream for now.”

“Yeah. We’ll restart as soon as we’re ready, so as Rin-chan mentioned earlier, make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss any notifications.”

<OK.>

<Thanks!>

<That was fun.>

<Thanks!>

<Great job.>

<Gonna grab some food.>

<I’m already subscribed.>

<Your way of urging us to subscribe is a bit awkward, lol.>

<Thanks, everyone!>
