Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 532: Meeting
Everyone at the table looked confused.
Olivia then turned directly to Aurora.
"If you were that fake girl, what would you have done?"
Aurora frowned.
"I would never pretend to be someone else’s daughter," she replied calmly. "I’m already a rich man’s daughter."
She smiled lightly at Adam.
Adam immediately nodded, pride obvious in his expression. "Of course. Our daughter is the best."
Yet at the same time, he glanced at Olivia with a hint of concern.
’Olivia... might not be thinking clearly today,’ he thought.
Mary also gave Olivia a sympathetic look, which caught Olivia completely off guard.
She blinked.
’Why are they looking at me like that?’ she wondered, confused. ’I’m saying all this for Aurora’s sake.’
From Olivia’s perspective, even though Aurora was wealthy, her wealth could never compare to that mysterious rich man’s family from the dream.
That was why she had tried to warn her indirectly.
If Mary and Adam had heard Olivia’s thoughts, they would have immediately corrected her and told her Aurora already possessed more than enough wealth to rival anyone.
But they remained silent.
Meanwhile, Aurora continued eating, though her mind was no longer on the food.
’How did Olivia even come across such a story?’ she wondered. ’It feels less like gossip... and more like she has seen my future.’
Olivia continued speaking.
"I also found information about the real daughter," she added.
"Her name is Shay. She has been sick since birth. If anyone dared to harm her, they would be punished by her family without mercy."
A faint chill spread across the table.
Aurora’s fork paused.
"If that’s true," Aurora asked carefully, "what’s the family name?"
Olivia answered without hesitation.
"Brown."
Aurora froze.
The name echoed in her ears.
Brown.A rich man’s daughter.
An impersonation.
Everything matched too perfectly with what she had been investigating.
But there was one problem.
In her story, the central figure was Lily.
Not Shay.
’What is going on?’ Aurora felt unease creep into her chest. Suddenly, the breakfast in front of her lost all taste.
She stood up abruptly.
"I have something to take care of," she said before walking away.
Mary sighed and turned toward Olivia.
"You shouldn’t say such unpleasant things during breakfast. Now Aurora is upset."
Olivia lowered her head and let herself be scolded without protest.
After all, this did not matter.
As long as she could protect Aurora’s future...
She was willing to be misunderstood.
Even if she had to become the villain in everyone’s eyes.
Meanwhile, Theodore cast an faint glance in Olivia’s direction before shifting his gaze toward Aurora.
He did not believe Aurora had left because she was upset.
If anything, she had looked like someone who had suddenly remembered something important and rushed off to confirm it.
’She’s going to investigate something again,’ Theodore thought, watching her retreating figure with a faint frown.
...............................
Aurora indeed shut herself inside her room the moment she entered.
The curtains were drawn halfway, allowing only a thin strip of sunlight to fall across her desk.
Dust motes floated lazily in the air as she powered up her laptop, her expression turning serious.
This time, she began checking the Brown family again, faster, sharper, far more precise.
But she did not act recklessly.
Before attempting anything intrusive, she sent Spencer a request for permission.
After all, she still remembered what had happened the last time she had poked into forbidden territory.
If she ran into underworld-level security again, she might not escape so easily.
Spencer called almost immediately.
"You’re investigating the Brown family?" His voice was firm.
"They have connections to the underworld. This is not something you should touch."
Aurora did not back down.
"I need to know," she replied quietly. "Something about this doesn’t add up."
There was a long pause.
Finally, Spencer sighed.
"Fine. If you insist, I’ll accompany you."
With Spencer overseeing the operation and assisting, they entered the network together.
Under Spencer’s protection, the infiltration moved smoothly and controlled, nothing like Aurora’s previous reckless attempt.
They retrieved the necessary data.
And then withdrew safely.
....................................
Aurora immediately began analyzing the files.
At first, everything looked ordinary: financial structures, business branches, and social appearances.
Then she saw it. Her eyes widened.
"Lily Brown..." she whispered.
The girl she had assumed to be the true heiress...
Was nothing more than a shadow.
A public figure. A decoy. Someone deliberately placed in the spotlight to represent the Brown family while hiding the real one.
Aurora scrolled further.
The real heiress’s name appeared.
Shay.
Aurora leaned back slowly, confusion flooding her thoughts.
’But in my understanding, Lily was supposed to be the real heiress,’ she thought.
’If Lily is only a shadow, then why did the Brown family push her forward so aggressively? Why erase Shay’s presence so completely?’
It was as if the family wanted the world to believe a lie.
The more she thought about it, the more suspicious it became.
.........................................
Far away from Aurora’s investigation, Nick was sitting across from Jules.
In fact, he had spent days begging for this meeting.
He had insisted repeatedly that if she refused to see him, he would continue disturbing her until her wedding day.
Jules, already overwhelmed with wedding preparations, had reluctantly agreed.
Still, she could not understand why he even had time to ask for this meeting when his own company was collapsing under public scrutiny.
When she arrived at the café, Nick gestured toward the table.
"I ordered drinks," he said.
Jules waved her hand dismissively.
"I don’t want to eat or drink anything. Say what you came to say. Don’t waste my time."
Her tone was sharp.
Nick’s eyes reddened slightly as he looked at her.
"I know I hurt you," he said softly. "But at least take care of yourself. Have something first."
Jules’s expression turned colder. She looked ready to stand up and leave.
Nick hurriedly raised his hands.
"Alright. I won’t force you."
Jules sat back down, though her patience was clearly thin.
Nick gave a small smile, but inside, his thoughts were turbulent.
Ever since his company began collapsing, he had known someone was pulling the strings behind the scenes.
Now he was certain who it was.
Aurora.
And Jules knew it too.
Aurora had made that clear on their engagement day, deliberately telling Jules everything so she would not be manipulated by Nick again.
Now Jules’s calm indifference felt like a dagger in his heart.
Nick lowered his gaze.
"I know what I did can’t be forgiven," he admitted.
Jules raised an eyebrow. ’At least he has some self-awareness,’ she thought dryly.
"I came here to say goodbye," Nick continued.
That actually surprised her.
"Then apologize and leave," Jules replied. "As an apology, you can transfer some of your remaining assets to me."
She was not saying it because she needed money.
She wanted revenge.
He had once left her with nothing. Cheated on her. Humiliated her. Destroyed her life over a misunderstanding.
A man like that deserved to end up bankrupt.
Nick nodded without hesitation.
"I will leave everything to you."
Jules blinked, slightly startled by how easily he agreed.
"If that’s the case, then we’re done," she said, standing up.
But just as she turned to leave, Nick suddenly spoke again.
"Since I’m doing so much for you... can you grant me one last request?"
Jules did not even look back.
"If it’s troublesome, then no."
She walked toward the door.
Nick panicked.
He rushed forward and grabbed her wrist, stopping her from leaving.
"You can’t just walk away without talking properly," he said, his tone turning forceful, almost domineering.
For a moment, he even considered asserting control, as if reclaiming what he once believed belonged to him.
He never got the chance.
Jules stepped back sharply, twisted her arm free with practiced precision, and shoved him away.
Before he could react...Slap.
The sound echoed loudly.
Nick staggered, stunned.
He had never imagined Jules would learn self-defense. Otherwise, she could not have executed that movement so cleanly.
As he stared at her in shock, Jules let out a small, humorless chuckle.
"If you’re scared now," she said coldly, "then maybe you should fix that disgusting attitude of yours."
Her eyes were sharp, unyielding.
"Do you really think I can’t see that you’re trying to manipulate me again?"
Nick’s face drained of all color.
He stared at Jules, shaking his head repeatedly as panic crawled into his voice.
"There’s been a misunderstanding... there must have been," he insisted, his words stumbling over each other.
Jules did not even bother to soften her expression.
She looked at him as though she were looking at something insignificant. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"Misunderstanding?" she repeated coldly.
"Next time you even think of using anything to manipulate me, you should forget about living peacefully."
Her words landed like sharp blades.
She turned and began walking toward the door.
But then she suddenly stopped, as if remembering something amusing.
"Oh, and that day?" she added, glancing back over her shoulder. "You thought you were being clever, trying to mislead me about our meeting."
