Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Next Mission

She wasn’t the original Eleanor.

Heck, if she was the original Eleanor, this scene might not have happened in the first place.

"System, can’t I just end up with him?" Eleanor asked in a reluctant voice.

[Host, please focus on the mission.]

"Yes, fine, fine. So what is the next mission?" Eleanor asked.

[Mission: Make friends with a woman named Olivia.]

"Olivia? Hm? Just from the name, I can tell that she is a b*tchy person...agh! Do I really have to do it?" Eleanor asked.

[Yes, host, only through Olivia can you meet your partner.]

"Yeah...yeah." Eleanor rolled her eyes.

Theodore ran with all of his might and soon reached his house.

Just then, someone tapped on his shoulder.

"Ahhhh! Ghost! Ghost!" He shouted.

"Hey! It’s me! Stop shouting! You will wake up our neighbor with our shouting!" A familiar female voice scolded Theodore.

When Theodore turned around, he saw Olivia.

Patting his chest, he almost roared,

"Can’t you act normal for once? I almost jumped out of my skin!"

Olivia’s eyes instantly moistened, and she started to sob,

"Why are you shouting at me? I was just calling you...who knew you would be so scared."

Theodore’s heart softened, and guilt gnawed at his heart,

"I am sorry...I...I didn’t mean to scold you. Olivia, please don’t cry. It was my mistake."

Olivia stopped crying and laughed,

"Hey, you still can fall for this trick...Theodore, when will you become mature and immune to my act?"

Theodore’s face flashed with surprise followed by disgust,

"Even I wonder why I fell for your clumsy lies."

But Theodore knew the reality; his sister’s tears were enough to make him panic, and he wouldn’t judge whether they were faking it or not.

For him, his sisters mattered the most.

"Now tell me, what happened and why were you running?" Olivia asked.

At the mention of Olivia’s question, Theodore shivered and explained,

"Do you remember the letter Aurora gave it? So I opened it today. She warned me! She said—she predicted—that I need to stay away from girls whose names start with ’E’!"

Olivia’s skeptical expression didn’t waver. "And?"

"And then," Theodore dramatically paused, his voice dropping to a near whisper as if what he was about to say was the revelation of the century, "I met a girl."

Olivia blinked. "Okay... and?"

"She was beautiful, Olivia!" Theodore threw his hands in the air, his face filled with emotion.

"Curly blonde hair, ocean-blue eyes, a smile that could melt icebergs! She just appeared out of nowhere while I was sitting outside the set, all sad and defeated. She said I looked lonely and sat beside me!"

Olivia gave him a deadpan stare. "Uh-huh. And let me guess, she liked you?"

Theodore’s ears turned red as he rubbed the back of his head.

"Well... yeah. She even asked for my number. But I couldn’t just give it to her—my phone is embarrassingly cheap! So, I made up some stupid excuse about being an actor and needing privacy!" He groaned, slapping his forehead.

Olivia smirked. "Right, right. Because privacy is a huge issue when you’re not famous yet."

"Shut up," Theodore grumbled.

"That’s not the point. The point is, she was so supportive. She told me I’d make it big one day! And for a moment... I kinda felt like I was falling for her."

"Oh, Theo..." Olivia’s voice dripped with mock sympathy. "Your heart is so easily swayed."

Theodore ignored her and continued, his tone turning serious.

"But just as she was leaving, she realized we hadn’t exchanged names yet. So, I told her mine. And then... she told me hers."

Olivia frowned, leaning forward slightly. "And?"

"Eleanor," Theodore whispered dramatically, eyes widening as if he had spoken the name of an ancient curse.

"Her name is Eleanor."

Silence hung between them for a moment before Olivia burst into laughter.

"Are you serious?" she wheezed, clutching her stomach. "You’re freaking out because her name starts with ’E’?"

"YES!" Theodore exclaimed, gripping Olivia’s shoulders.

"Aurora literally told me to stay away from women whose names start with ’E’! And then, right after reading that letter, I meet Eleanor! This can’t be a coincidence! It’s fate, Olivia. Fate is trying to warn me!"

Olivia sighed, tapping her chin thoughtfully.

"Okay, fine. Let’s say Aurora’s right. What do you plan to do about it? Avoid every girl with an ’E’ in her name? Refuse to talk to anyone named Emma, Eva, or Elise?" freёnovelkiss.com

She smirked. "Good luck with that."

Theodore faltered.

"I mean... I don’t want to avoid Eleanor. She was really nice, and I felt... I don’t know. Comfortable? Like, for the first time today, I didn’t feel like some useless extra."

Olivia softened slightly at his words, seeing the genuine uncertainty in his expression.

"Look, Theo, maybe Eleanor is just a nice girl who happened to show up at the right time. Or maybe there’s more to it.

But if you’re really that worried... then just be careful. Pay attention. See where this goes."

Theodore pursed his lips, nodding slowly. "Yeah... Yeah, maybe you’re right."

Olivia smirked.

"Of course, I’m right. Now, are we done with your existential crisis? Because I’m starving."

Once they entered the house, they saw Adriana, Adam, and Mary seriously discussing something.

Seeing them arriving, Adam waved his hand,

"Come here, both of you."

Theodore and Olivia walked up to him.

Adam patiently waited for them to sit before announcing to them,

"We are thinking of bringing Alex, your mother’s first son, to live with us."

Theodore groaned and said,

"We don’t have space! Just see the apartment in which we are living! We are barely able to make space for our family."

Adam: "..." So that is your only concern?

Taking a deep breath, he explained,

"We are going to move to some other location. Emily has asked us to move into the penthouse she owns. And the penthouse has 10 rooms."

Theodore instantly cheered,

"Yes!"
