Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Young Master Berrycloth

Aurora was unfazed. She turned to leave, but the driver held her hand and said with a fake smile,

"Missy, you don’t seem to understand. I said get in the car."

His tight grip made Aurora frown, and she struggled to free her hand.

Feeling as if the situation was going out of hand, Aurora shouted,

"Help! Help! This man is trying to molest me! Help! Help!"

Aurora’s voice rang out sharp and clear in the quiet hospital entrance.

Heads turned immediately, eyes locking onto the scene before them.

The driver’s grip on her wrist tightened for a fraction of a second before he quickly released her, realizing that he had already drawn too much attention.

However, remembering his madam’s order, the driver put on a smile and said,

"Miss, what are you talking about? You are our master’s daughter! I am just here to fetch your back to the estates.

Understandably, you have amnesia and can’t recognize me, but please don’t accuse me of such great offense."

The driver’s words caused the onlooker to shake their head, and they started to go on their way.

"No! You are my stepmother’s driver, god knows what you will do once we are alone! Help! Help!" Aurora argued.

The crowd’s brief interest faded as they muttered amongst themselves, dismissing Aurora’s cries.

They saw a well-dressed young woman and a composed chauffeur—hardly the image of a victim in distress.

Aurora gritted her teeth.

She had expected at least some of them to step in, but she had underestimated how little people cared as long as they weren’t personally involved.

The driver’s grip loosened slightly as he realized the spectacle was dying down.

"Miss Aurora, enough," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper but laced with warning.

"Your stepmother is waiting."

Aurora smiled icily.

"Well, she can keep waiting." Then, without hesitation, she lifted her knee sharply, slamming it straight into the driver’s stomach.

He let out a strangled grunt, doubling over from the impact. Aurora yanked her arm free and took a step back, her pulse pounding in her ears.

Without giving the driver a chance to recover, Aurora bolted.

As long as she finds a safe corner and hides, no one can harm her.

2 minutes later, the driver recovered and started to chase Aurora,

"Miss, it will be better if you give up and obediently follow me." The diver shouted.

Aurora ignored him. What a joke! That was the classic line every side character in the novel says when they are about to harm the female lead!

As Aurora continued to run, her breathing turned rapid, and she cursed her weak body,

’Damn it! If this continues, the driver will catch me within the next 3 minutes. What should I do? Ah! Right! Police Precint! But I don’t know where it is!’

With each passing second, Aurora was growing desperate. When she turned around to spot the driver, her soul almost left her body.

The driver was right behind her and was about to reach her.

’Sh*t! Will die even before exploring this world?’

Just as that question popped up in Aurora’s mind, she crashed into a ’wall’

"Ouch!" Aurora gasped as she fell to the ground due to the impact. She rubbed her nose and felt the driver’s hand on her shoulder,

"Caught you!"

’Sh*t! I am doomed!’ Aurora thought.

Yet she struggled and shouted,

"Help! Help! Help me!"

With a desperate look in her eyes, Aurora scanned her surroundings in the hopes of finding a kind onlooker.

But all she saw was the individuals busy in their own lives.

Did humanity vanish from the earth by 2130?

What surprised her was that there was no ’wall’ in front of her, only a looming figure.

Lifting her head, she saw a man. Because of the strong sunlight, Aurora was hardly able to make out his facial features.

Does that matter, though?

Nope.

Aurora instantly hugged the man’s leg and shouted at the top of her lungs,

"Sir! Please help me! Sir, you look like a god descended from heaven just for me! Please free me from this toad!"

However, at the same time, Aurora couldn’t help but lament in her mind,

’Wow...such strong and well sculpted legs...just the feel of it is...ugh! What am I thinking? I have to find a route to escape!’

The ’man ’ was taken aback by Aurora’s action and tried to shake her off, but Aurora didn’t budge.

The driver, seeing the scene, gritted his teeth and said,

"Missy, please leave Young Master Berrycloth’s leg!"

Aurora’s grip tightened around the man’s leg like a lifeline.

Young Master Berrycloth? She had no idea who he was, but if he had power, she had to make use of it.

With a pitiful expression, she looked up at him, finally getting a clear view of his face.

And oh.

Tall, lean, and intimidating, he had sharp features that seemed carved from marble—high cheekbones, a strong jawline, and piercing silver eyes that scrutinized her with cold detachment.

His dark hair was neatly styled, and he exuded an air of authority.

Aurora felt a chill run down her spine. This man is dangerous.

But at this moment, he was also her only hope.

"Sir, please! This man is trying to kidnap me!" Aurora pleaded, her voice laced with genuine fear.

The driver paled slightly but quickly composed himself, forcing a chuckle.

"Young Master Berrycloth, please forgive the miss. She has amnesia and does not recognize me. I was merely following orders from my madam to take her home."

Young Master Berrycloth’s cold gaze flickered between Aurora and the driver.

Then, as if having lost interest in the matter, he turned to leave.

Aurora panicked. No, no, no! If he walks away, I’m done for!

Without thinking, she launched into full dramatic mode.

"Young Master Berrycloth!" she wailed.

"You’re the only one who can save me! I beg you! This toad wants to take me away and do unspeakable things! If you don’t help me, I’ll be ruined!"
