Chapter 29: The Queen's Morning
"Huh?" Zaiyila scratched the back of her head, confused, before she finally understood. "I'm also not clear about it," she murmured, holding Everett's hand. "But I think I had a dream. It looked really..." she trailed off.

Everett looked at Zaiyila intently. "What was it about?" he inquired.
Zaiyila recounted everything to him—everything she had witnessed before losing consciousness. Everett, however, had already pieced the scene together just from Quinn's presence.
"Husband, it's not that I want to chase her away, but that dream makes me unwilling to live under the same roof with her," Zaiyila confessed, looking at Everett cutely.
Everett smiled. "Don't worry, she's already been dismissed," he assured.
"Huh?" A visible question mark seemed to appear on Zaiyila's face.
Everett found her expression adorable and couldn't help kissing her. "Anything my Queen doesn't like shouldn't exist," he murmured.
Zaiyila smiled warmly. "I'm very lucky to have you as my husband. I'm truly grateful that I was the one they sacrificed to you," she whispered, hugging him as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Ah, don't cry, okay? Calm down," Everett consoled her gently, patting her head.
Quinn, who had been lying on the ground, opened her beautiful blue eyes and yawned before floating up. "Mas—" She couldn't finish her sentence when her gaze fell upon Everett. "Ahhh!" she screamed and immediately tried to enter Zaiyila's body to hide, but something was surprisingly blocking her.
"Oh? I thought you were dead. I was already thinking of giving you a grand burial," Everett remarked with a cold, mocking tone.
Quinn began to shiver. "You... you can't do anything to me!" she stammered, clearly lacking confidence.
Everett smiled dangerously.
"Um... Eve, do... do you know her?" Zaiyila asked tentatively.
"No," Everett responded bluntly and ignored Quinn. He then rested his head against Zaiyila's chest. "Get out of here. Don't disturb my privacy," he directed at Quinn.
Quinn pouted reluctantly but flew out at once, unwilling to waste another second in the same room with them.
Zaiyila continued playing with Everett's hair, giggling happily. "When I get back to school, I must thank Elizabeth properly," she thought. Suddenly, she froze in realization. "What's the time?!" she exclaimed.
Everett sighed and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Guess it's already noon," he responded.
"Oh my!" Zaiyila immediately pushed him away and rushed to the bathroom.
Everett was stunned, his eyes widening with disbelief. "Does school matter that much?" he gritted his teeth in frustration. "Darling, it's not a big deal to skip one day of school!" he shouted.
"Hmph! You don't understand. I just resumed, and I'm already skipping classes. That's called being unserious. You wouldn't be proud of that," Zaiyila retorted from the bathroom.
Everett's mouth twitched. "Says who I wouldn't be proud? If not for your desire to study, I'd rather keep you at home in peace," he muttered and stepped out of the room. "Looks like I'll have to make some adjustments there," he added, descending the stairs in a sour mood.
Quinn was sitting on a chair, munching popcorn and watching a movie. At the sound of footsteps, she looked up and saw Everett. Instantly, the popcorn vanished, and she dove under the chair to hide.
Of course, Everett noticed all her actions but chose to ignore her and headed to the kitchen to get something for Zaiyila to eat.
...
Not long after, Zaiyila was ready and rushed downstairs.
"No rush," Everett said as he caught her by the waist and led her to the dining table. "Eat something first."
"No... I can't waste any more time. I'm already late," Zaiyila responded urgently.
Everett didn't say a word—he simply stared at her.
Zaiyila bit her lower lip and obediently sat down, eating calmly.
"That's more like it," Everett chuckled and kissed her cheek.
After eating until she was full, Zaiyila dashed out and was driven to school.
"She didn't even let me tell her about the banquet I was planning for her," Everett facepalmed himself and continued eating.
...
At school, Zaiyila sneaked into the classroom only to find Miss Girlin already present. She froze, unsure of what to say.
"Good... good afternoon..." she stammered nervously.
"Ah, you still came. Since you weren't feeling well, you should be resting at home. Come, don't just stand there—sit quickly," Miss Girlin beckoned kindly, helping her to her seat.
"Ehn? What's going on?" Zaiyila wondered internally, baffled.
"You can sleep if you're tired, or do you need anything?" Miss Girlin asked with concern.
"Um... no... no need... I'm better now," Zaiyila stuttered, still nervous.
"Alright then," Miss Girlin smiled warmly and returned to her seat.
"Aiyi dear, how's your health? I didn't really know you were unwell, so I made an excuse for you. But seeing you now, I guess I was right," Elizabeth whispered, clearly worried.
"Ehn!" Zaiyila had a question mark on her face. "Seriously, you..." She gritted her teeth. "Is this a cover-up or are you cursing me indirectly?" she thought.
Elizabeth sighed. "What happened? You look pale," she asked softly.
Zaiyila glanced at her again. "I look pale?" she echoed in confusion.
"Alright, alright. Let's talk more after class. Don't let Miss Girlin throw us out," Elizabeth whispered and began focusing on the lecture.
Zaiyila shook her head and also turned her attention to Miss Girlin.
...
"Class is finally over! Aiyi baby, how are you feeling now?" Elizabeth asked.
Zaiyila rolled her eyes. "I'm not sick, okay," she replied.
"Oh," Elizabeth responded. "So, about my birthday... which dress are you planning to wear? Or should we go shopping together?"
Zaiyila looked at her. "Have I told you I'm attending your birthday?" she asked.
"Ehn?" Elizabeth blinked twice. "We're best friends already! I'd be very sad if you didn't come to my birthday party," she pouted, clutching Zaiyila's hand.
Zaiyila rubbed her forehead. "I'm just joking. As for the outfit, I have a lot I can wear. No need to buy a new one," she answered.
"That won't do! We must show off that we're besties!" Elizabeth insisted.
"I don't think that's—"
"Alright, we can go now. Let's go immediately!" Elizabeth interrupted, dragging Zaiyila into her car and driving off.
"Boss, the Queen has been taken away by her human friend!" Zaiyila's bodyguard reported to Everett, who was calmly sitting in the car waiting for her. Upon hearing the report, Everett's eyes gleamed with immediate killer intent.
